Chris Van Allsburg is an outstanding author whose award winning books contain nonstop fun filled mystery and whimsical dream based story like his well-known book The Polar Express. His books are full of nonstop thrillers and are great for people who like to read. Who also takes great pride for his books and awards and uses it to write better and more interesting books for his audience. As a well-aged author still learns from his audience. Chris was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 18, 1949. After high school he went to the University of Michigan where he learned skills like wood carving and where he majored in sculpture and, then he went to Rhode Island School of Design and continued his study in sculpture. Chris has won two Caldecott Medals. For his great amount of work that he put into the illustrations in his books like the Jumanji and The Polar Express.
