The world’s current population is seven billion and growing each day (Worldometers, 2015). A planet occupied by seven billion people all separated by continents, languages, and cultural barriers. With so many people and so many various factors that make them different, there is one thing that crosses all barriers and brings people together, religious worldviews. One widely shared and embraced worldview is that of Christianity. The Christian worldview believes and holds importance in God, humanity, Jesus, and the restoration of people.
God
God, a three letter word with a much larger meaning. In the Christian worldview God is the ultimate reality. He existed before the universe and He is sovereign. In the beginning of the Bible, Genesis chapters

It connects and brings together individuals around the world who embrace similar beliefs. God created Eve for Adam, he placed love in the world he had created and made it possible for humankind to find it in their relationships (Uhley, 2014). Bringing everyone together with their similar belief in Christianity provides individuals with a form of a social group and along with that comes support from others that hold similar beliefs as well (Idler, 1995). The spiritual practices of Christianity also helps integrate mind, body, and spirit all together in one. Collectively individuals gather and worship in a group setting sharing the bible and its teaching and how it has positively impacted their life and brought them closer spiritually to God. Christianity provides individuals with values to follow and influence their inward and outward behavior such as to love, forgive, and help …show more content…
I find that Christianity is the same as well. Christians are taught to love everyone for who they are and to forgive those who sin. I also believe that there is something out there that is larger than me and beyond my comprehension as a human being. This is much like how God is viewed in the Christian worldview, but I have not explored enough into religion to give that higher power a name yet. One area that I would like to believe more solidly in like Christians do is the idea of an afterlife. When I was raised I was told that our goldfish go to heaven, but when my grandmother passed away I was told that her soul was at peace. As an adult I struggle with the idea of a heaven and am not as accepting of it as Christians are. This is an area however I would be more open to explore through the Christian
The Christian worldview believes in trinity, which means God is a trinity of persons. That is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one. This was evident during creation. In Genesis 1:26 states “then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
With the bible being the key to studies, the Christian faith holds a strong worldview in today’s society. Therefore,
Christianity is a Theism worldview that focuses on the belief in one personal and relational God that created all that exists (Hiles, & Smith, 2015). God created man in his likeness to care for all that has been created, to know and worship God, and to love and obey God (Diffey, 2015). Man is to rule and have dominion over the earth, be fruitful and multiply, filling the earth (Genesis 1:28). Christians rely on the support of the Holy Bible to guide them in the word of God. The Bible consist of four basic acts, the Creation, the Fall of Humanity, Redemption, and Restoration (Diffey, 2015). Christians believe that God sent his only Son to die on the cross for their salvation. In this paper will be a focus on the Christian worldview discussing God, humanity, Jesus,
There are many parts of Christianity that differentiate it from other religions, but for the sake of your time and immediate sanity- I will only delve into three of them. Upon identifying them, you might face some initial confusion, but know that I will explain each one in depth, so that you can completely wrap your mind around them. Grace, the Doctrine of the Trinity, and the Resurrection of Jesus Christ are all characteristics that comprise a Christian’s relationship with God. All three of these topics set apart Christianity from other religions that claim to have the real truth.
An ungodly, hateful, ruthless place to live for many people. Wars, famine, disease, greed, murder, rape, drug trafficking, child molestation, and more have led to the continual downfall of society. The most prevalent of all is greed. The love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10 NIV). A Christian Worldview could help tremendously with all of these problems. If humankind were to keep God in the center of their lives and follow His teachings every day, the world would be such a better place. Following Christ’s Word helps humanity to care for one another. It instills the importance to be humble, to serve, to love and take care of one another (Hiles & Smith, 2015). The image of God can be seen in those who follow Him. Christians get their strength from God. He gives peace to those who seek Him, and they are
Who is God? God is the creator of all according to the Christian worldview. As Christians we believe that God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Diffey, 2015, Ch. 3) We trust that God be existent in three persons. After reading the Genesis chapters, I understood that God
A worldview is the way a person views and interprets the world around them. Life experiences and spiritual influences play a part in forming one’s worldview. A person’s worldview helps them to determine beliefs on creation, humanity, morals and what happens after death. According to Waddell, (2014) “Worldviews are also like lenses found in eyeglasses that serve as the means through which a person sees the world.” (para. 43) In this paper, the main components of the Christian worldview will be discussed, to include God, humanity, Jesus, restoration and analysis of Christian Faith as well as a reflection of my own beliefs.
The first foundational aspect of the worldview is found in who God is. The Christian’s worldview of God is that God is part of the Trinity, which is made up of three persons: The Father, the Son (who is fully God and man), and the Holy Spirit, but they are all one God (Diffey, 2014). God is the sovereign creator of all things, “All things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together,” (Colossians 1: 16-17, English Standard Version). Love was the defining factor for God creating the world, “God’s act of creation is an act of love of the purest sort” (Dodds & Dodds, 2011, p. 210). God created the world and is still actively involved in it because, “If God’s creative activity is needed to account for the first existence of the world, there is every reason to think that it would be needed to account
There a lot of differing worldviews in practice today. Every person has a worldview that is shaped by their experiences, pasts, families, traditions, values, and beliefs that form the core of who they are. The Christian worldview is no exception. This worldview is formed by the beliefs and teachings of the Bible. The worldview is shaped and centered around the view of who God is, the purpose of humanity, the true identity of Jesus, the restoration of humans to God, acknowledging the strengths and weakness of the worldview, and the practicality of living out the worldview.
Humanity was originally created in the likeness of God, to walk in his presence; they were made distinctly human with the ability to reason. Humanity knows love because they are made of love, in the image of God who is love. (1 John 4:16) After the Fall, humans are no longer pure enough to walk in His presence and are punished for the sins they have committed. The purpose of humankind changes from caring for the earth and all its inhabitants; to spreading the word of the Lord. The Christian Worldview recognizes that humankind is sinful by nature because Adam and Eve, God in his graciousness sent His only son to die on the cross to atone for those sins.
The purpose of this book is meant to create a foundation for Christian lifestyles. It addresses the origin of Christian values, and portrays the evolution of Christian worldviews throughout history. It briefly explains the biblical narrative and develops ideas in which Christians are able to live out their faith and deal with other worldviews existing in our world today.
A Christian worldview leads us to believe in moral absolutes, miracles, human dignity, and the possibility of redemption.
Due to the "highly subjective nature of most scientific theorizing... [we should] let the Bible speak for itself and modify our scientific view of origins accordingly." (as cited in Downey, D., & Porter, S., 2009).
Christianity is the largest faith group in the world today. The word Christianity came from “Christ,” which meant the “Anointed One” and the central point of
How is it possible to know that the universe is expanding? How is it possible that through Red Shift and the Doppler effect, we can know, scientifically, that there was a beginning of the universe? How is it possible that the universe functions so perfectly? That no element, no atom, no tick of time or an inch of space is off in any way? How is it possible that the slightest shift of gravity could mess up our entire world? How is it possible that we, you and I, are breathing, thinking and living in the manner we are?
