In the world we live in today we are exposed to many religions. Two of the many are Buddhism and Christianity. Although they are religions worshiped by many they are very different. Such as, what is worshipped, how to achieve salvation and the thought of suffering. These are some of the aspects that make these two religions very different.
In the Christian religion, it is believed there is an omnipotent being known as the Lord. Also, in this religion Jesus, the son of God, is the foundation of Christianity. “faith itself was belief in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God.” (Cunningham, Oakley &..) We pray for them to guide us through life. Both of them are divine in the eyes of the church and many others.
In the Buddhist faith, it is believed that Siddhartha, the Buddha, was not divine but a regular human being. Buddhism is more about the Buddha’s teachings and living lives based on them. The Buddha is just the most important religious leader figure for Buddhism because he is the founder. It is like

It is when one is at their lowest points when they realize all the good there is, the good God gave us. Jesus also suffered as it is told in the Bible and Apostle’s Creed when He was crucified. “I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate.” It was after this that he went to Heaven. So, like the Son of God Christians too suffer to earn their place in Heaven. Buddhism is quite the opposite. Suffering is avoided in this faith. The founder of Buddhism “Siddhartha… wanted to find out the cause of suffering and how it could be ended.” (Marchant,4) The Buddha found that desire was suffering. Once one didn’t desire anything there would be no more suffering. That is how the followers of the Buddhist faith live by and when they become enlightened with no desire is when they may reach
Buddhism and Christianity are both religions that have a substantial history and millions of dedicated followers throughout the world. In some ways, the two religions are similar, being based largely on the teachings of a single man; Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha in the case of Buddhism, and The Lord Jesus Christ in the case of Christianity. On the other hand there are various differences between these two religions.
According to our text, Huston Smith believed that all religions were essentially the same, whereas Stephen Prothero believes that they are all fundamentally different. These two differing opinions can be looked at further by comparing two of the world religions: Christianity and Buddhism. I believe that all religions are a mixture of both; religions are essentially the same and are also fundamentally different. Christianity and Buddhism both have similar aspects within them, and they have different aspects as well. In order to make sense of the world, one needs to have knowledge of religion and the implications it has on society (Prothero).
Christianity and Buddhism are two religions that seem completely different on the surface, but when the layers of ritual and tradition are peeled back they are extremely similar at the core of their beliefs. Beginning at their origin, both religions were founded by men with a miraculous birth. Both of the religions founders set off on their spiritual journey around the age of thirty, and both of the founders lived their lives as an example of how to correctly practice their religions. The only core differences between Jesus Christ and Buddha is that Jesus came from humble beginnings and claimed to be a deity as the son of God and Buddha was a prince but did not claim to be a deity. The creation of their sacred texts has similarities as well. Professor
Every Religion believes in either a God(s), a leader, or supernatural forces. Unlike Christians who believe in Jesus Christ, is the divine savior of God, who died upon the cross to save others from their sins, Buddhists believe in an enlightened man referred to as Buddha. Buddha is believed to have lived between circa 563 to 483 BCE and believed to have taught in northeastern India. Buddha’s teachings are based upon his life, and provide guidance and support to his followers.
Buddhism and Christianity were each founded by one person, and then eventually grew into two of the largest religions in the world. Each religion had different reasons
Religion is a prominent aspect of many people’s lives. Not only does religion provide ethical and moral values, but also acts as a cultural system and often gives people a sense of order in existence. There are many religions across the world, and understanding the characteristics behind each one is important. Religion is intertwined with culture, economics, politics, and modern social relationships on every dimension. Buddhism is a religion that practice and spiritual development leading to insight into the true nature of reality. It's also a major global religion with a complex history and systems of beliefs. Buddhism is based on what the founder believed in, which was that the suffering from people arises from confusion and negative states of mind. Throughout history, a multitude of religions have been created and acquired by various cultures. With every new religion comes a group of those who believe, and those who scrutinize and refute the religion. Many varying factors contribute to what makes a religion have longevity or simply fade away. All major religions of the world, however different in beliefs, share commonalities that bind them together. All religions have important events throughout history that propel them into being acknowledged religions. They all have beliefs and ideologies that are followed by believers. They all have practices that people adopt and exercise. Buddhism and Christianity are two religions that have solidified as time has passed, and have continued to grow in prominence world-wide.
The task at hand is quite impossible, especially in a ten-page paper. I am about to compare two entire religions, that is two entire belief systems that certain individuals have devoted their entire lives towards; that generations have sought to follow, further, and protect with their lives. I will attempt to do this, but please bear in mind that my personal views will inevitably surface to a great degree and I will be prone to taking sides. I believe in fact that these two systems are poles apart and have very few similarities indeed. In this sense I am forced to conclude that they are hugely incompatible and that very few people will be able to accept both. In other words, a person who is

Between 600 BCE, and 600 CE, Buddhism and Christianity were spreading across India and the Middle East, but the two religions have a lot in common, yet each have their differences.
First let’s look the idea of God. According to the Christian religion God is divine and is
At first glance the traditions of Christianity and Buddhism appear very different from each other. One centers around a God that was at one time physically manifest on earth in the human form of his "son" Jesus Christ, the other primarily worships a historical figure that gained divine status through enlightenment. This assessment is broad at best, especially in the case of Buddhism where the Theravada and Mahayana traditions differ significantly. Christianity also has division within itself, the most prominent being between the Roman Catholic and Protestant systems. There are however, despite obvious differences, some very interesting similarities between Buddhism and
More importantly, the main beliefs in both religions have points in common. Buddhism and Christianity teach people and help them to escape the sufferings, and both of them
One man, million devoted followers. Christianity and Buddhism both share teachings from one single man. Christianity devoted their lives to God, as opposed to Buddhism who devote their life to Buddha. Although both religions come from different origins they are both based off a man who arose.
