I believe the best means of collecting good clinical trial data is not unilateral. I am a strong advocate of making clinical trials easily accessible through convenience and innovation. With that being said, I feel a mixture of technology through smart phone apps and e-diaries in addition to easy access of getting the clinical trial procedures done and investigational product/medical device to the patient population through mobile health clinics are the best means. Smart phone apps and e-diaries have become much more accessible and easy to use throughout the years. We are currently experiencing a technological boom with the development of smart phone apps and user friendly e-diaries for data collection. Due to the transient nature of society, …show more content…
This bus travels to rural areas and renders basic diagnostic and therapeutic services including endoscopy. A telemedicine van accompanies the mobile hospital and endoscopy unit and transmits all procedures and data to the main telemedicine center at our parent institute. We have so far performed over 30,000 endoscopic procedures in 4,837 villages with a population of over 10 million people, (p. 172). As noted by Talukdar and Reddy since the procedures and data are transmitted to a main telemedicine center, patients who are not able to come to the on site visit due to scheduling conflicts, are underserved populations, or live in rural areas, can have the mobile health clinic come to them. In closing, smart phone apps, e-diaries and mobile health clinics are great channels for collecting good clinical trial data. The mixture of these modes are the best strategy because they show the innovation, efficiency and convenience necessary to conduct a well-executed study. Reference: Talukdar, R. & Reddy, D.N. (2012). Health care is massive challenge in developing countries like Africa, Tanzania, and Rwanda etc. Mobile health technology becoming a native application linked to a specific primary healthcare facility. Non communicable diseases such as cancer, hypertension, diabetes and heart diseases, demand is also increasing in healthcare system that may rises rapidly. To overcome all situations, healthcare providers need to pay attention and also need to priorities early detection and treatment.
Aggregated clinical data is an approach that is fundamental. It collects all of the data to be in one place and can be accessed to those in need of it. Aggregated Clinical Data is used to enter patient information into the database.. Not all physicians want the device generated data to be put into their EHR. (M.U.S.E 2013). Aggregated Clinical Data will build incrementally, but not all at once. (flowhealth,2014) .Aggregated Clinical Data is the data that is that is applying a process to combine elements from different sources. (M.U.S.E. 2013)..
The satellite clinic will be provided in information technology as PMH. The EMR or EHR is very important in ameliorating the quality of care. The EMR would be implemented with its meaningful use. The EMR implementation and its meaningful use will augment the patient safety and it would ameliorate the quality of care. Therefore; the Pocahontas County Community will have the same quality of care as the PMH. “Implementing and using EHR systems in a meaningful way is likely to have a net cost over the several years, especially for those who do not yet have robust EHR systems in place and in regular use” (Kudyba S. P. ‘2010’). The same author said: “By quality we mean the six elements described by the IOM in its ‘Quality Chasm’ report: care that is consistently patient centered, effective, safe, timely, efficient, and equitable.”

In an era where we are required to travel to see our doctors and specialists; would you have ever imagined the return of a time where services or the physicians themselves would come to you without being forced? Telemedicine through Cellular technology has helped advance health and medicine by allowing health care professionals the ability to communicate with each other seeing real time images and allowing them to better collaborate on the patients’ medical condition.
The procedure of conducting the endoscopy commences by applying the sensing system on the abdominal wall which is directly connected to the data recorder. The patient wears the data recorder so that visualization is achieved without any hindrance. Later, the activation of the capsule is done by removing it from the magnetic holder. Furthermore, the patient ingests the capsule and in the process of ingestion of capsule, the patient is provided with certain instructions which are as follows:
Telemedicine allows medical specialists' to consult with rural based physicians' assisting in providing diagnoses and care. Telemedicine allows for remote patient diagnosis through images that are sent from distant locations, assisting in the treatment process of a rural

Mobile technology use has drastically increased during recent years. Between 2008 and 2012, global mobile data doubled each year and it is estimated that mobile data traffic increased by a factor of eighteen between 2011 and 2012. By 2016, there were an estimated ten billion mobile devices in use around the world (West, 2012). Along with the expansion of mobile devices and data, the use of mobile health and mobile computing and communication in healthcare is also rapidly expanding (Free, Philips, Galli, Watson, Felix, Edwards, Patel, & Haines, 2013). This expansion and viability of mobile devices in healthcare is due in part to their popularity, mobility, and technical capabilities (Free et al., 2013). These mobile devices are
Endoscopy is a nonsurgical procedure that uses an endoscope to examine the digestive tract. An endoscope is a slender and tubular instrument with an attached light and camera. Gastroscopy, also called upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, is an endoscopic examination of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum by means of an endoscope inserted through the esophagus. Gastroscopy patient should take a laxative and should not take any food or liquids for 8 hours prior to the examination. Colonoscopy is an endoscopic examination of the large intestine by means of an endoscope passed through the
Endoscopy is the examination of the inward workings of the human body utilizing an endoscope. Endoscope is a term for an uncommon medicinal gadget, which is a long thin tube (some of the time adaptable and here and there inflexible, contingent upon the investigation required) that has a light and a camcorder connected. The video pictures are anticipated onto a screen as the specialist directs the extension through the
By remotely monitoring a patient’s condition the physician can alter the treatment as needed by using their laptop or cellphone. The ability to manage the care of the patient remotely increases the healthcares team productivity for the entire staff. Allowing for a more output of care and intake of more patients satisfying the needs of the financial stakeholders.
There are many different types of endoscope, and depending on the site in the body and the type of procedure, endoscopy may be performed by a doctor or a surgeon, and the patient may be fully conscious or anaesthetised. Most often the term endoscopy is used to refer to an examination of the upper part of the gastrointestinal tract, known as an esophagogastroduodenoscopy.[2]
Taking part in clinical trials happens voluntarily and it is entirely up to the subject to decide whether to continue their participation in the trial or to terminate it completely. Such participations require participants to submit personal data to the board of researchers before the start date. This information along with the medical records of the patient should be maintained and preserved during and after the trial. Investigators, then, are to make sure that all sensitive specifics are safeguarded so that no harm or violation could occur when promoting the research. Considering the modern research settings and the movement towards digitalization of clinical; trials. Pharmaceutical companies largely integrate electronic methods into their
The invention discussed in the article is a group of startup companies that are providing healthcare professionals in the comfort of a patient’s home. There are many reasons why this form of healthcare supersedes a traditional office visit. One key reason is that people live busy lives and cannot always find the time to travel to see a doctor. Another reason is to prevent high healthcare costs and prevent a trip to the ER and/or the cost of an ambulance. A final reason that this innovation is helpful is that it claims to let doctors know their patients to a greater extent since they are in the comfort of their own home and patients have the complete focus of their health care provider. The invention works where a user can schedule an appointment with a doctor or nurse and receive a wide variety of treatments and tests. An example is a Facebook executive, Kunal Merchant, who scheduled a check up at his workplace that was both quick and convenient. For most of the companies discussed an app or phone call is also all it takes to schedule an appointment. Generally the invention serves to address some
