ABSTRACT Cloud computing has formed the basis for future computing. The global computing infrastructure is rapidly moving towards cloud computing. While it is important to take advantages of it by means of deploying it in diversified sectors, the security aspects in a cloud based computing environment should be considered (Ahmed, 2014). Cloud computing is still a new technology in many enterprises. Findings show that most organizations are reluctant to adopt it and the demand to reduce computing cost has led to this great innovation (Agarwal, 2012). A sample size of 150 technical IT people will be used for data collection through questionnaires and interviews and the data collected will be analyzed using SPSS. The purpose of this study is to identify the cloud computing concepts as well as security issues inherent within cloud infrastructure. The adoption of cloud computing is not as complex as many organizations have thought and by moving the applications and hardware out of the organization the user can focus on its core strategies. 1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1Background of the problem Most organizations have constrained and inefficient resources to lay down good IT systems and infrastructure. They do not respond promptly to customer needs that keep changing radically and make data sharing difficult. This problem can be solved through adoption of cloud computing; The cloud service providers should ensure that they consider the security issues (software,
However, research focusing on the adoption of cloud computing technology and its impact on business operation is limited. This trend may be explained by cloud computing being a relatively new field. Available research on the structures, processes, security measures surrounding the cloud services are still at an early stage.
Cloud computing has set a trend in the information technology arena that has sparked the interest of all who utilize the internet on purpose and unsuspectingly. Initially, the primary purpose of cloud computing was to provide a centralized data bank that organizations could use for quick data access. Its use has been quickly adapted, however, beyond business use to become the first option for personal use. The advantages and disadvantages of implementing such a shift from business to personal are varied, yet, statistically, according to the CISCO Global Cloud Index: Forecast and Methodology, 2014-2019 White Paper, its public use is on the rise. The report notes that “by 2019, 56 percent of the cloud workloads will be in public cloud data centers, up from 30 percent in 2014 and by 2019, 44 percent of the cloud workloads will be in private cloud data centers, down from 70 percent in 2014”. Though disadvantages with regard to data security is prominent, users have deemed that its implementation will still promote greater benefits than loss.
This research paper tackles the issues that faces Cloud Computing today and gives the experts and industry’s point of view on the matter. The aspects explored are the significant industry questions that have risen about the use of Cloud Computing, business value, organization impact, adaptability, limitations, initial cost of implementation, and the severe business security risks
Managing the security of an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system in a cloud computing environment can be challenging. Even without the addition of the cloud computing environment, the EMR system is vulnerable to the compromise of login information, unauthorized viewing or editing of medical records, and denial of service attacks. First of all, the data contained within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) itself is sensitive. Inside the structure of an EMR, one is potentially looking to find patient data that pertains to identity, billing information, dentistry, cardiology, dermatology, mental health, and physical attributes among other forms of data. In many EMR systems, tools to provide security and privacy are implemented. In these
The majority of us have been found out about the most cloud security disappointments in which all the cloud innovation organizations are kept on developing, despite everything they endure a similar kind of issues in-house infrastructure's. Distributed computing has turned into a greatest market in the present innovation. In a report of 2016, experts at Gartner anticipated that exchanging to cloud will influence $1 Trillion in Information innovation in the following five years. Cloud administrations showcase has developed to a degree level that it was not a striking level of aggregate it is spending, which was creating new innovations and new businesses which are conceived in the cloud. At the point when cloud administrations are going
Modern cloud computing is a delivery system for computing services either for free, or on a pay-as-you-go basis. In this system, users utilize the Internet and remote data centers to run applications and store data. Cloud technology can allow more efficient computing by removing most of the upfront costs of setting up an IT infrastructure. It also allows organizations to expand or reduce their computing facilities very quickly. Increasingly, cloud computing is perceived as a big step toward the long-held dream of computing as a managed utility similar to cable TV or electricity.(Buyya et al, 2010) Cloud computing can be defined by certain criteria. These features are what make cloud computing an attractive option for modern organizations.
According to Prasad, Gyani and Murti (2012), “Cloud computing can be defined as a new style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet” (p.7). This statement is from five years ago, and although cloud computing is no longer considered new, this definition still describes what cloud computing means today. Cloud computing being private or public is becoming more primordial in the IT sector due to the numerous advantages it gives to its end users (Basmadjian et al. 2012). Since the interest in cloud computing keeps on increasing, efforts need to continue to evaluate current trends in security and privacy. Cloud computing
The main issue that slows down the growth of cloud computing is security. No matter how many security management tools are released or assurances of reliability are made, complications with data privacy and data protection continue to plague the market. Covering all potential security issues in this article is simply impossible. This is because of the fact that we 're still discovering many of the security issues which challenges cloud computing as it is still a work-in-progress. Cloud Computing is rapidly evolving and hence what we see today may quickly become irrelevant.
This paper will present a fictitious statistical analysis of cloud computing, and the number of security issues encountered by a variety of organization types. The fictitious organizations were surveyed to collect data on the number of software and hardware applications outsourced to the cloud, and the number of security issues encountered.
Cloud computing is the new megatrend that is becoming one of the fundamental building blocks within companies. The main purpose of it is to enhance productivity at a lower cost of operations and allowing companies to concentrate on their core business competence rather than infrastructure issues. This paper illustrates the advantages such as economic benefits of Cloud computing as well as disadvantages of it, which are security and privacy concerns. It also provides a detailed explanation on how I see the future of Cloud computing within My & Say Accounting CPA firm.
Cloud computing is moving into the mainstream. Moving to the cloud might be a viable option for some consumers. However, there are many facets to consider before moving to the cloud. There are four types of clouds, public, private, community, and hybrid. All four cloud arrangements have pros and cons, and they need to be weighed before a decision is made. Two main challenges of clouds are security and privacy. These two main issues must be addressed prior to choosing a cloud service. As a consumer, you make the choice for how stringent your security and privacy are to your stakeholders.
Cloud is as the best possible solution to the problems faced by the present day organizations. With the rapid development in information and communication technology, organizations are inundated with data storage and data processing. This forced the organizations to implement expensive storage, network and processing options. Cloud effectively encounters all these problems through remote access, scalability, computing at low cost etc... This paper deals with economics of cloud computing, it gives a brief exposure of mechanisms implemented to achieve economic cloud computing and challenges in achieving it.
Usage of remote servers via internet to store, manage and process data instead of using a personal computer is known as Cloud computing. It’s a set of Information Technology services with the ability to scale up or down their service requirements. Most of the cloud services are provided by a third party service provider. In cloud computing, organizations can utilize IT services without in advance investment. Despite its benefits obtained from the cloud computing, the organizations are slow in accepting it due to security issues and challenges. Security is one of the major problems which hinder the growth of cloud. It’s not wise to handing over the important data to another company; such that clients need to be vigilant in understanding the risks of data infringement in this new environment. This paper discusses a detailed analysis of the cloud computing security issues and challenges. (Ayoleke)
Cloud computing can offer businesses many advantages. However, there are many disadvantages as well. For instance, increased convenience may come at the cost of diminished security. Scrutinizing these tradeoffs is necessary for determining whether or not to utilize this technology.
Cloud computing means data storing and accessing data over the Internet instead of your computer 's hard drive. We can store data without any Physical Cable. We can access our data or our programs over the web or in any event have that information synchronizes with other information over the Net.
