This course provides the foundation for successful project planning, organization, and implementation within the realm of information technology. The course uses real-world examples and identifies common mistakes and pitfalls in project management. Topics covered include project scoping, estimating, budgeting, scheduling and staffing, tracking and controlling, and software tools for project management.

Project Schedule (Due in Week Three, February 4, 2013)
This is the core of any project plan used to communicate what tasks are needed and the order of sequence to be done to meet deadlines and deliverables.
At a minimum the section will contain the following:
• Business requirements document (BRD) that provides additional details regarding the expectations (such as user, system, and functional) that must be met for achieving project goals
• Work breakdown structure (WBS) showing discrete work tasks and grouped hierarchically that helps to organize and define the total work scope of the project
Write 3 to 4 pages on your findings.
Project Costing (Due in Week Four, February 11, 2013)
The allocation and cost of resources need to be carefully monitored if a project is to be delivered on-time and on-budget.
At a minimum this section will contain the following:
• Allocation of resources to project tasks (both labor and material)
• Cost estimates for project resources
• Gantt diagram showing duration estimates for all tasks and their sequencing (including precedence

The paper is divided into three sections, the first of which will establish a timeline of events. This project background will serve as a case study for the analysis in the following section that will be structured such that each of the previously mentioned facets will be independently analyzed and contrasted with project management principles. Finally the paper will conclude with a summary of the analysis and recommendations based on
There are five major variables to consider when starting a major IT projects and there are scope, time, cost, quality, and risk. Most major IT projects will require a project manager to handle to overseeing of the project. The project management refers to the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to achieve specific targets within specified budget and time constraints. Project managers activities will include the planning of the work, assessing the risk, estimating the costs required to complete the project, and several other important duties. As in other areas of business, Project management for

In the current business environment, the demand for project managers is ever growing. In short, project management is a provisional project constrained by time, cost and scope (A guide to the project management body of knowledge, 2013). Between the immense organization, optimization, and communication assets skilled project management brings to a project, it is easy to see why project management is a booming field of study. Furthermore, project management can be both financially and personally rewarding when long term milestones and goals come to fruition.

The Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) breaks a project into manageable items. The WBS identifies all work elements needed to complete the project work scope. The WBS is a hierarchical tree where project is subdivided into smaller pieces called work items. The lowest level item of
* Write clearly and concisely about issues in IT project management using proper writing mechanics and technical style conventions.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is a tool that is used to define the work elements of a project and identify its entire scope. It is the map of the project which identifies all elements of the project and allows managers to keep track and control of it. It is made of a hierarchy which facilitates the evaluation of cost, time and performance at all levels of the project life-cycle and organization. The structure illustrates the smaller units and allows for adaptation and quick communication if there a problems which need to be addressed. Definitions of each task should be clear and avoid overlapping in
A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) in project management and systems engineering, is a tool that defines a project and groups the project’s discrete work elements in a way that helps organize and define the total work scope of the project.[1]
This paper includes an outline of a presentation, command terms and definitions, examples of graphs and a Work Breakdown Schedule (WBS) on project management, and presented to the class at Crescent View High School. The focus will be on how to plan, schedule, monitor, and report on projects. Also included are the project management methodologies, tools and techniques used. The discussion to the class will begin with an opening statement that provides an overview of project management, terms and definitions, and an example of buying a house utilizing project management to manage activities.
A work breakdown structure (WBS) will develop for this project and the WBS is based on the project charter, scope statement, and other relevant information. Gantt chart and network diagram also will be well prepared for this project. While preceding the planning stage, the resource usage cash flow report will showing the hours each person is assigned to work on each task each week. Furthermore, the probability/ impact matrix and list of prioritized risks for the project will be included in the project
