I set out to find a place to begin my observations, not knowing what to fully expect, what I may find. So I decided to look around at what is close to my home that isn’t a place I frequent or have even visited at all. Then it came to me, the Starbucks that is only about a mile away is a perfect place for me to observe subjects that I would consider different from myself, seeing as how I consider such obscene prices for coffee ridiculous. Starbucks is a very popular chain of coffee vendors that describe their product as more about quality than what Americans are used to in typical coffee joints.

If someone claims they are a coffee drinker and go to Starbucks every morning, chances are they do not know much about coffee and they are more likely to get an espresso drink rather than a cup of coffee. Why? Because Starbucks is not known or praised for their coffee like they use to be. Their signature trademark is their latte macchiato’s, caramel frappucino’s, and random coffee themed objects and items that have turned this once original coffee shop, more into an expensive superstore full of gifts and three month old vacuumed sealed beans. A local Colorado woman filed a lawsuit against Starbucks due to a drive-thru malfunction. The woman claims that a hot tea spill severely burned her and also killed her dog. Her claim is that the employee who served her did not secure the lid to her tea and also did not use the Starbucks sleeve for hot beverages. Due to this incident, the woman was forced to undergo skin grafts to treat her burns. The other tragedy is that after being rushed to an emergency veterinarian her dog died due to the injuries he received from the hot tea spill.
