Baking for me is a passion, at times a stress reliver. The passion for baking became stronger over the years from baking for friends and family and watching them enjoy my baked goods, and telling me how amazing they taste. They have encouraged me to have my own business of which one day I hope to accomplish, as it is one of my biggest dreams, even if I don’t become as big as Buddy Valastro; whom I one-day hope to have the opportunity to work for. Now that I am a mother it has only motivated me more to accomplish my dreams so that when my kids grow up they can say "wow" look at what my mom was able to accomplish. Knowing that I have such a great support system makes it that much better without my family backing me up I may not have been able
As for every parents always wishing and wanting the best for their children. My family is always motivating and encouraging me to follow my dreams. When I get older I want to become a Neonatal Registered Nurse to help out my parents like they do so with my siblings and I, and I know with all the help and
If you love nothing more than to spend a cold autumn afternoon baking, you might like to have a baking business on the side. You can peddle your wares at places like bridal shows, street fairs, and farmers’ markets. Print up business cards and brochures and start taking orders.
I’m doing baking as a Capstone project as I have very minimal experience with baking, just the basics that everyone knows such as cookies and cakes. My love for baking started when I was in middle school, and I was still in 4-H. The members of the group were able to choose different subjects to do projects on, and you would do these projects on your own to submit to the fair that they held on the Albuquerque fairgrounds. My first year I had decided to do baking and cake decorating. While a lot of time was focused on cake decorating, at home I’d use special occasions to bake whatever recipes were in the packet that I had received. In the packet there was one recipe that had caught my interest. Butterscotch bars. They were like brownies but made
My passion for health sparked eight years ago. I spent most of my childhood in a weight class my mom liked to call “husky.” As a result, I struggled to develop a comfortable body image because my physique did not fit the status quo. On a life-changing mid-October day in 2008, my PE teacher (who also doubled as a life coach) gave a compelling lecture on the unhealthy effects of a sugary diet. She spoke about the daily recommended amount of sugar, our body’s response to excess sugar, and the success stories of her clients who minimized their sugar intake. I knew in that moment that I had found the answer I so desperately wanted. I vowed to never drink a sugary soft drink again: in my first year without the vice, I lost an astounding forty pounds. Eight years later, my passion for health has transformed more than just my body, giving me a breadth of confidence in everything that I do. Because of all of the benefits, my commitment to health is stronger than
Becoming a mother has made me realize; what was “important” to me then, means so little to me now. Being a mom has taught me that my family; as well as, having faith in God are so important. When I imagine what my life would be like without them, it begins to scare me. I can honestly say, I do not know what I would do without my family or God. They are so precious to me. Only transforming into a mother, is what really opened my eyes about family. Before having kids, I
My family’s background has influenced me greatly. It’s helped me learn to appreciate life and not take things for granted. The reason for this is because my parents were poor. Both had to drop out of school in the third and fourth grade to go work in the fields to help my grandparents and their families put bread on the table. They moved here to the United States from Mexico in their early 20’s completely empty handed with no skills in many fields to show for and no education. They knew they were at a disadvantage and it was going to be difficult to build from scratch in their new country, but they knew that here in the U.S. they had many more opportunities to make something out of themselves and not let my siblings and I go through the same
All my life, my mom has been by my side motivating and directing me in the rite direction. When you get older you start realizing your mom will not always be there to hold your hand through life. A little under two years ago I had mu son Thiago. Having a child is a life changing epierience for most people, but for me it was an eye opener. I had to immidiatly grow up, not only to think about how to better my life but his life as well. Every day I wake up Isee my son sleeping so iinnocently not knowing what to expect of his day or his future to come. Because of Thiago I am motivated to strive at a good education to provide a stable future for the both of us. That being said , every day god gives me another day to see my son that's all the
Watching my mother live from pay check to pay check when I was young was difficult. It was always hard for my mom to keep up with other parents but, she still somehow managed to get me everything I wanted, and more. Even though I was too young to understand, I could feel the stress, and the struggles my mom faced every day. She was only 20 years old when I was born and, because of that she had no choice but to grow up fast. At such a young age, I saw the effects of being a single parent, and the ways it changed my mom. She not only had to be a young mother but, she had to find a way to replace the void of a father, or a father figure in my life. My mom was strong, independent and courageous. Growing up watching her live her dreams under all the circumstances she faced, made me want to strive for a better life for myself. Seeing how hard is was to live and to have enough
School has always been an important part in not only my parents lives but their children's.I learned that I can achieve anything I want if I believe in myself. I learn to challenge myself and never take anything for granted. I didn’t think I would have as many opportunities or support as I do now. I believe I am Dedicated, I try to do everything the best I can because I want to be my best self. Open minded, I accept different people’s perspective. Persistence, No matter how hard it is, I never give up.Focused, I put school before anything because of the important role it plays in my future.Determined, I’m willing to take every risk to achieve my ultimate goal, which is to be a nurse. Passionate, My passion for education will contribute greatly
I still remember the day I discovered my passion for design. I was in the sixth grade and had just arrived home from soccer training. After hours of playing in the heat, I was exhausted, hungry and, worst of all, bored. I ate and headed straight to my family’s desktop computer. I launched my favorite online game only to find out that the servers were down for an update. As a result of not being able to play, I started my hunt for something else to keep me from boredom. I came across a software called Adobe Photoshop and was instantly hooked. The ability to create and arrange pixels to create masterpieces had allured me. Before I knew it, I had installed Photoshop and was clicking away. After six years of continuing this passion, I have built
Many things in life I considered it is important to my future, and I would take any actions to achieve them, even though It will be difficult sometimes. When I think about my family, I started to realize how I am thankful to have them in my life because they are the reason why I am here today. They impact on my personal life in many different ways trying to raise me better and better.
Family, the people in life who will always be there no matter what the situation is. My family of six are the most important people in my life, they are the backbone that keeps me together and pushing forward. Without them as my backbone, I wouldn’t be the young man I am today, things would be a mess, there will be no guidance, or an individual to show me right from wrong. As a child listening to the mistakes my parents have made in their past. Both of them deciding to not continue to further their education and pursue their dreams. My father a construction worker who began in the trade at the age of fourteen, is a very hard worker who gives up everything to provide for us. He became a foreman at seventeen years old. My mother the most important woman in my life gave up her dream of being a nurse to raise me at a young age. She did not accomplish her dream until merely five years ago. Coming from a family with no previous college history it’s tough not being financially stable as families with a college background. My family has impacted my life greatly. They have instilled in my brain that I must go to school and achieve the goals I set for myself. I thank them for guiding me into the right path to be successful. I also have three siblings, two brothers and one
The sound of pans hitting other pans. The dough getting in between your hands. The smell of cookies. The passion that drives someone to make a wedding cake for a special occasion. It is this passion, this love for baking that makes me want to become a pastry chef. Currently I am a senior in high school, in the Culinary Arts program. It is through this program, that I found this wild and crazy, almost insane passion, but to me it makes all the sense in the world. I want to be able to make the best cakes for special occasion. I want my customers to be happy. Pastry Chef has revealed that it suits my INFJ personality, my visual learning style, and my baking skills; however, it does not suit my perfectionist, sensitivity, and privacy aspects.
Baking has always been a part of my life, from when my dad used to bake when I was barely a year old to now when I have carved my own path. Even though I have always been surrounded by baking I didn’t start independently until I was eleven, then peaking when I made a summer trifle for my grandmother’s birthday two years ago. Since then baking has been a constant in my life, but has helped grow and learn as a person.
My experience baking extends back to when I was four or five years old and I would “help” my mom bake chocolate chip cookies. These cookies have always been a signature dish of my mother’s and they are delicious. A couple of years later I remember baking an apple crisp by myself while my mom was making dinner but close at hand just in case I needed help. From these early days of baking, I learned to follow a recipe with ease and bake almost anything I wanted to that our home kitchen and kitchen-aid mixer could handle. One story that truly demonstrates my ability to bake is the one I will be recounting in this narrative. Because I have baked all my life I am literate when it comes to baking.
