According to Pew Research Center 47% of students go to college to gain work related skills and acquire knowledge. Another 39% believes college offers a forum for students to grow personally and develop their intellectual abilities. While the remaining 12% believes it’s a little bit of both. In my experience, I think college is the setting where you build strong ties with people that may inhabit your life from that point on. College is the opportunity to have attractive numbers floating around on your paystub at the end of the week versus the average person that don’t have a college degree and most importantly I think college does help you to grow heavily intellectual. Observing everyone you come in contact with at college, you may arrive at the speculation that they are all people planning to go somewhere.
