In this day and age, the vast majority of young Americans are conflicted on whether attending college is the right choice for them. After thoughtfully weighing their options and making their decision, students that plan on pursuing a further education are faced with the challenge of choosing the right college for them. There are about 5,300 colleges in the United States. This includes prestigious Ivy League colleges such as Harvard and Yale, your traditional public state schools such as the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor), and local community colleges. This wonderful city is often ranked towards the top in lists of the best cities to live in the United States. According to niche.com, Boulder was ranked the 13th best city to live in America. This comes as no surprise as Boulder boasts a thriving economy to go along with its peaceful environment and gorgeous surroundings. The constant sunshine looking over the city is enough to warm up the coldest of hearts. It is largely referred to as a college town, which isn’t inaccurate, but it also provides an exceptional place to live in for any person. With good food and plenty of attractions in its immediate surrounding area, Boulder is a lovely city. The campus of CU is also one of the best college campuses in the country. It features two indoor facilities, four turf fields, three tennis courts, a challenge ropes course, five natural grass fields, Folsom football stadium, Coors event center, four outdoor basketball courts, and many more facilities for CU athletes. The different living facilities offer a variety of choices to any type of student. Although CU is not inexpensive, especially compared to other colleges in Colorado, it is not as costly as other major state schools. The cost of tuition is also significantly lower for in-state students. Fortunately, this higher tuition is offset by an effective financial aid program. Students are able to secure various loans, grants, and scholarships to help pay for their tuition. This includes a few guaranteed scholarships based on merit. The University of Colorado opens many doors for you in the future as 91% of graduates were employed, in graduate school, or in military service 6 months after graduating; 85% of graduates were satisfied with their job; and 75% believed their degree from CU Boulder gave them an advantage in their job selection process. These newly graduated students earned a median starting salary of $50,000; a very respectable starting wage. The median Colorado salary as of 2016 was $65,685, as compared to the median career salary of $89,900 of a CU graduate with at least a bachelor’s degree. This significant difference in earnings is enough to persuade any students to further their education at CU
