On January 24, 2017 I observed the court case of William Satchell vs. Johnny Griffin. The name of the case I observed was Butler in department 20 and the judge present was Michael G Bowman. I arrived to 720 9th Street in Sacramento, CA at 1pm and stayed until 4pm. I observed a murder case where I watched the defense attorney Johnny Griffin try and defend his client Mr. Butler. Mr. Butler shot and killed Carl Talent an innocent man. Carl talent was shot and killed and the defense attorney Johnny Griffin said the killing was a result of a heated argument. Many comedians have been talking a great deal about politics and the government as a way to spread a variety of messages to the community expressing how they feel about how things are going for America. Therefore many comedians have become more popular in this past election season and with Trump 's new presidency. Stephen Colbert an American comedian, television host, and author uses his spotlight in media as a way to attack President Trump and his administration within his comedy. Colbert uses Juvenalian satire and satirical techniques while discussing politics to reveal his opinions as a way to spread messages to society about the Trump Administration and uses his comedic platform to do so.

Bob Cooney has been a resident of Landen for 34 years. He is married with two children and one grandchild. He has owned Employee Benefit Plus since 1988 which specializes in employee benefits, insurance, and financial services. Bob is actively involved in the Landen community and served on the CSA Board from 1992 through 2010. He served as President as well as Treasurer of the CSA Association. Varying cast members of repertory as well as newer cast members perform the shows comedy sketches (Wikipedia, 2015). Each comedy skit aims at making a mockery of the different cultures as well as focusing on recent political issues. The show is well known mainly because each episode is hosted by a different celebrity guest star that normally begins the show with an opening monologue as well as participates in the performances of the sketches with the chosen cast. The television series Jack Benny uses exaggerated stereotypes of Jews to create humour through the main character Jack Benny. The humour is found in the exaggerations, which keeps the comedy relevant and funny while also serving to help transition the mass immigration of Jews to America into American culture after the second world war. Jack Benny is portrayed as a miser who also happens to kvetch a whole lot. Jack’s cheapness is made evident throughout the episodes in an exaggerated, yet comical way. Perhaps, given the timing of the television series as well as the mass immigration of Jews to America, Jack’s character was meant to be exaggerated and comical in order to help make the transition smoother.

He was raised by his mother, Nancy, and is the youngest of two boys. His father, Henry Hart, battled with cocaine addiction and was in and out of jail, so he was rarely around during Kevin Hart’s childhood. However, since Kevin’s childhood, his father has cleaned himself up and the two of them have reconnected. Kevin Hart took to comedy as a way to relieve himself from all of his pain that he endured during his childhood. He used humor as a coping mechanism to make everyone laugh about the situations that he has been through. “The jokes,” he has said on his stand-up, “come from a real experience” (biography.com editors). Comedy is a multiplatform that can be used in many forms. Predominately comedy can be used as a forum to address issues in society. How do comedians use humor as an outlet for social issues and critiques? Mary O’Hara, Olga Khazan, Peter McGraw and Joel Warner address in their articles how comedy is used as a forum to bring to light different issues that are occurring in society by means of jokes. Comedy helps shed light on issues that society might see as taboo or avoid talking about due to controversy. Comedians allows these topics to be approached in a different manner since the way they execute these jokes allows for a tension free atmosphere and more open-minded to the scenarios at play. Making comedy an ideal forum to critique or address issues.
