“Good morning, stop talking or I’ll throw my drink at you.” Andrew Havington’s fondness for Starbucks falls just short of his passion for music, which is to say he really loves his Starbucks. No one was surprised when his career at Montville High School began four years ago because of his early enthusiasm and appreciation of music; four-year old Havington honed his musical talent via air violin while his mother worked on her real one. Every period three he, with his five foot, six inch frame, strides into class. Holding his starbucks, Mr. Havington, flushed, round face, bright eyes, retrousse nose, and warm smile wrapped in a stubbly van dyke beard has a friendly appearance as he looks over his students. His approachable nature brings an air of acceptance to the room, though with that comes a cloud of responsibilities and expectations. Mr. Havington expects a great deal from his students and is not afraid to show it. …show more content…
Sitting in a lesson one day, he was leaning back in his chair, behind the Pop Funko dolls that line his desk, talking about the concert only three weeks away. The other students and I listened as he went on about having half a piece of music left to memorize. Stunned, we asked him to specify. If he had memorized it, that would mean that in three months he had committed the notes, octaves, scoring, and count of each part-- violin 4r, violin two, viola, cello, and bass-- of about ten songs.
“Of course,” he replied. “I’m a
Starbucks Corporation has been expanded greatly into international market since 1996. For instance, Starbucks entered the Tokyo, Japan’s market during 1996; United Kingdom in 1998 and in Mexico City during September 2002. Starbucks has doubled in the amount of stores it possesses since 2004, but it has consistently stayed at only a 30% international market. There are over 50 countries that consist of Starbucks which are Australia, Belgium, China, England, Germany, Malaysia, Singapore and others. It cannot be denied that Starbucks has a great base in United States but it greatly outweighs the base that it has throughout the rest of the world. So, Starbucks should expand its international market into more countries by putting more effort like
As mrs.clark was telling me the truth about jerry, my mouth dropped to the ground my eyes where wide open with many emotions going thru my mind. I was shocked that jerry lied to me but in my mind I was thinking he had done it for a reason. He had to do it for a reason because there is no way a boy like jerry would ever lie and specially to me. After I found out that jerry lied to me I wanted to talk to him. I was looking for jerry all around the orphanage because I couldn't find him and then one of jerrys friends told me that he left when he heard I found out the truth.
Starbucks was originally a small waterfront coffee shop located in Seattle that opened in 1971 (starbucks.com- Our Heritage). It is extremely convenient and now has over 24,000 stores in the 70 countries it is located in, which is one of the reasons that it is so well known today (starbucks.com- Starbucks Coffee International). There is a large variety of coffees you could get, however, they do not focus solely on coffee. They also sell teas, smoothies, pastries, and more. Their mission is to “inspire and nurture the human spirit- one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time,” (starbucks.com- Our Heritage). It is a place that people can work on computers, study, or hang out at, so it is constantly in business.
Howard Shultz and the senior management at Starbucks have to decide how to react to the opportunities that are being made available because of their rapid growth. The decision for a strategic growth plan has to be made in the near future. This will prove to be key for Starbucks reaching their long-term goal of becoming the most recognized and respected brand of coffee in the world.
Starbucks is a major American company that was founded in 1971 by three college friends in Seattle, Washington. Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker at one time were all of different paths until they learned coffee roasting techniques from coffee entrepreneur, Alfred Peet (Starbucks Timeline, 2016). Alfred taught the three friends his particular style of roasting which ignited a spark in the trio and they were inspired to sell high quality coffee beans and roasting equipment. They soon started brainstorming names, and finally settled on Starbucks

Around 8 pm on March 11, 2016, my sister and I decided to grab a coffee from Starbucks. I believe that Starbucks is a perfect example of a location where diverse people consisting of different generations hang out, meet, transact, communicate and study. Starbucks is open for masses to stay in as long as they want while drinking a good cup of coffee. I was fortunate enough that during the time of my observation a lot was going on. With the learning I have grasped from our lessons, I was able to see various concepts that are under the topic Communication: An Introduction.
The organization that I have chosen to analyze in this paper is Starbucks. Starting as just a single coffeehouse in Seattle in 1971, Starbucks has now grown into a multinational corporation with over 23,000 stores worldwide. (Smith) With a vision that stemmed from Italian coffeehouse tradition, Starbucks set out to become more than just an average coffeehouse, they wanted to provide their customers with excellent coffee but also a personable connection. Their mission is “to inspire and nurture the human spirit-one person, one cup and one neighborhood at a time” (Starbucks). At the top of their priority list is quality however Starbucks is also passionate about ethically sourcing only the finest of coffee beans, roasting them perfectly and the most important part being improving the lives of the people who grow the beans.
The first Starbucks location opened in 1971 with the original location in Seattle Washington, the heart of Pike Place Market. Starting as a single shop specializing in high quality coffee and brewing products, the company grew to be the largest roaster in Washington with multiple locations until the early 1980’s. CEO Howard Schultz, recognized a great opportunity and began working with the founder Jerry Baldwin. After a trip to Italy to find new products, Schultz realized an opportunity to bring the café community environment he found in Italy to the United States and the Starbuck’s brand we all know today began to take form.
A. Many people would assume that Starbucks has reached, or is fairly close to its saturation point. In just about any city, suburb, train station, or college campus, there’s a Starbucks location to meet coffee drinkers needs. With Starbucks expanding, a likely investment would be to continue expansion worldwide. Not only should Starbucks concentrate on expanding its footprint, but also continue to alter its stores. Rather than opening more dine-in restaurants, Starbucks should concentrate on drive-thrus in urban and suburban areas.
Starbucks is named after the first mate in Herman Melville’s Moby Dick. Our logo is also inspired by the sea featuring a twin-tailed siren from Greek mythology.

For Starbucks charity work they’re main charity in Ireland is the St Michaels house. St. Michaels house is a provider of community based services for children and adults with an intellectual disability’s. They give away 10c of every coffee in the first day of every month to the charity. This is great for marketing because it reveals Starbucks as a caring company who will help anyone they can. As someone who was born and raised in Seattle, I am very proud to say I am from the “home” of Starbucks coffee. The company of Starbucks, started in Pike Place Seattle in 1971, has become a globally known company. It is known for putting customers first, taking critique and fixing the issue, and treating its employees very well. I have worked for Starbucks in past years and I have found all of these to be true.
