Coordination of Departments, Plans, and Policies There is general agreement that committees are very useful for coordinating activities arrangements among various organizational units. Committees are also useful for coordinating planning and the execution of programs. The dynamics of modern enterprise place a heavy burden on its managers to integrate plans and activities. With complications, change, and numerous specialized departments, it is difficult to coordinate every activity, every subordinate plan, and every expenditure. A committee permits the individuals concerned not only to obtain firsthand a picture of overall plans and of their place in them but also to contribute suggestions on the spot for improvement of plans. Committees also furnish a place where agreement may be reached on the steps in coordination. Transmission and Sharing of Information Committees are useful for transmitting and sharing information. All group members affected by a mutual problem or project can learn of it simultaneously, and decisions and instructions can be received uniformly with opportunities for clarification. The time thus saved may be considerable; and the spoken word, with its possibilities for overtones and emphasis and the opportunities for
A consultative style encourages discussion with the team; the leader presents the situation or problem and may possibly suggest a provisional decision. They then invite discussion about it and get suggestions and ideas, the leader then decides. Positives of this style include group synergy ‘none of use is as clever as all of us’, and acknowledgment that the team has something to contribute to the decision-making process. Disadvantages of this style could include slower decision making due to consultation, and the expectation of the team or individuals that they will always be consulted.
The committee system is necessary in order to ensure that each piece of legislation receives the consideration that it deserves. Judy
If issues are brought about, or arguments are carried out, then the Conference Committees are there to resolve these differences.
As Gill has stated “A committee's function is to bring the experience, expertise and judgement of a group of interested and informed individuals to bring a specific area of the corporation's responsibility,” (Gill, 2005). The boards would each research and gather informations, analyze data, come up with affirmative action plans and present these finding, plans and suggestions to the board, the board will then discuss the suggestions and decide on the best course of action. The three committees I would suggest would be financial and risk management committee. a fundraising committee and a program/ service committee that also handles quality assurance. Each of these committees would ensure that key areas of governing is constantly paid attention to. These committees would give board members a sense of purpose as it would utilize their best talents and have them focus their areas of expertise to create strategic plans for each

Even in small groups people may choose a representative to speak as a proxy. As the group grows larger, there is less possibility of informing everyone of all the factors involved in a decision. We cede authority and power to those we believe are in a position to make a decision that is best for us.
The third change was the added meetings of subgroups. The Executive Committee was broken into two subgroups to facilitate critical thinking (Janis, 1982). The subgroups would meet separately to come up with a policy decision and would then come back together as one to debate and cross-examine each other’s decisions (Janis, 1982).
According to the text, Dr. Alex Mahdi was committed to the idea of collaborative decision making. However, Dr. Mahdi utilized an individual and authoritative decision leadership style when he set up committees and appointed teachers to serve on his newly established committees in addition to their department level committees. I believe Dr. Mahdi has the resources necessary for success. He has the opportunity to boost morale, change the culture and climate of the school, and build trust worthy relationships through collaborative interaction.
1. This committee is a small group consisting of five members with a common purpose which is the maintenance and upkeep of the Church building. However, the conflict is most likely to occur due to the dissimilarity and variation of each member’s motives and complexity. Complexity is impacted by group members’ thoughts and beliefs, so we see in this scenario a lot of differences of thoughts and beliefs which could lead to incompatibility and inconsistency. Roberto, Marmalade, Latasha, Merry, and Thurman have individual private goals, yet have the same purpose. Nevertheless, conflict has its good which is leaving room for the potential to solve the problem.
A group discussion will commence if there is to be a dispute or disagreement on a subject. The members involved with the argument shall thoroughly explain or state their side of a given argument. The remaining members shall then vote on a single side or form a compromise.
The role of the committee is to pick through numerous bills, proposals and other issues that are brought forth and distinguish which issues to address and how to appropriately address them. The committee must be organized and collaborate well in order to be successful in passing a bill. They must prioritize which bills to give consideration to and which to ignore (SOURCE).
