well its 10 minutes till 3 a.m. Old people do have a tendency to get up early. I might as well admit it, I'm 85 soon. Very soon and lord willing I'll make it to 95. Time passes faster nowadays. Anyway, I have learned in my old age that this is the good part of the day. I leave the T.V off and its very quiet. Even though my hearing isn't what it used to be I believe that i could hear the pin drop.

Time to just sit and think.

this morning I'm thinking about politics and religion. Boy, oh boy, what a mess! using all my common sense I can't decide which group hast the most "Crooks". I mean Money grabbers, Liars, Charlatans and people that are so "two faced". One day they say one thing and the next day they say something different. When they get caught they say "Oh, I misspoke". I've had more experience in this area. So if I have the privilege to write more articles, I'll deal with what the "good book" really says. I would like to start with a few statements so that you wont think that I just escaped from the funny farm.

I know we have had some fine preachers in our community, men who have lived their lives really trying to serve and help the people. These good and honest men would never knowingly teach anything wrong that would cause you to be lost. Next I know there are good people in every church in our community, not just good but really good, the best kind of neighbors who are always ready to help when needed. However in teaching we must be specific or we don't apply the lesson to ourselves.

One example is Matthew 7:21-23. " Not every one who says to me, 'Lord, Lord', will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord we did not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out the demons and in your name preform many miracles?'
