Introduction Effective communication is an important facet and skills are essential in all spheres of life. Communication is effective when the stimulus as initiated and intended by the sender, or source, corresponds closely to the stimulus as it is perceived and responded to by the receiver” (Tubbs and Moss, 2006), state .In nursing, every day we have to face to face with patient, we communicate with different people and different patients, so we must endeavour to give effective communication and also an important to counsel them from the usage of words, speed delivery of words, pitch modulation and body language. d) Be emphathetic Imagine how you would feel in their circumstances. Be Emphatic to the feelings of the speaker, while maintaining a calm centre within youself. You need not be drawn into all of their problems or issues, as long as you acknowledge what they a are experiencing. e) Ask questioning Ask Question to clarify your understanding, as well as to demonstrate interest in what is being said. ( Scarborough ,Ontarion,Allyn and Bacon ,2000) 4) Emotional State During communication should make effective use of body language. Patients or people should not show their emotions while communication as the receiver might misinterpret the message being delivered. 5) Proper Media Selection – Simple messages should be conveyed orally, like: face-to-face interaction with patients. For significant messages reminders can be given by using written means of communication such as: Memos, Notices, message via hand phone. 6) Flexibility in meeting the targets: For effective communication in an organization the managers should ensure that the individuals are meeting their targets timely without skipping the formal channels of communication.
