Throughout these four pieces of world literature, it really shows the uniqueness of each culture that was represented in each film or text. These pieces of world literature have shown how each culture have developed a sense of hybridity in response to cross cultural exchange. For example how in “Kony2012” and in “Mulan” was both a film but they were films that were told from a different point of view, not only that but also the purpose of the two films were different. Both of these films were told from America aspect of life but it focused on another culture. This essay originally titled Studying Literature in Grade 12, has an abundance of information regarding and convincing the readers that the grade twelve English course should be composed of Canadian literature. The grammar in this essay however, was weak. The subject did not agree to their pronouns, making many sentences awkward. Overall, improvements could have been made. Some of these include MLA format, the title, introduction paragraph, grammar, punctuation and the citation format.

The given literary works are very diverse regarding their genre ranging from fiction to poetry. Their difference brings out different aspects and concepts that can be used to support the topic in question. Even though they lack similarity in their chronological designation, with the application of tools such as modernism it is easy to understand their loosely defined characteristics. The characteristic feature that can quickly be noted from all the literature work is that they share related theme regarding the subject in question. They all address issues related to inequality, racism, and life before the introduction of justice for all. The aspect of continuous struggle can be easily seen in all the works. The thematic relatedness in the literary works helps the writer to compare and contrast ideas from different perspectives in respect to time and narration to come up with one detailed and well-composed context. Regarding the above explanation, literature can be defined as a detailed research and analysis of a subject or situation through the literary application techniques such as comparison, criticism, modernism to come up with a well composed final content.
Comparative literature can be regarded as comparative criticism in substance, because comparison and analysis have been and continue to be the principal organs of literary criticism since Aristotle (384 B.C. - 322 B.C.). Of the early theoretical practitioners, Quintilian (35 A.D. - 95 A.D.) and Longinus (1st century) tried the comparative method fairly and systematically. Comparative literature as a separate and independent discipline is, comparatively, a recent phenomenon. From the historical viewpoint, the term comparative literature is said to have originated by with the first use of this term by H.M. Posnett. But he used the term not exactly in the sense it is used now. The credit of its origin must be given to Matthew Arnold (1822 A.D. -1888 A.D.) who was a relentless advocate and practitioner of comparative literature. According to him the best method of literary evaluation is touchstone method in which the analogical similarity of the term comparative literature is involved in the sense which is supposed nowadays.
Now that the semester is coming to an end and we have gone through five different theories, I have to say that each one is important for college students to learn. Literary theories are a great tool to because without them most students will not be able to fully analyze or even dissect the college level reading they have to do for class. Reason why, is because each one of the five theories plays a role in your everyday reading. It is also important because any book that you read is going to have some sort of theory in it and without them you will be lost.
