World War 1 And World War 2 were the largest militaristic wars mankind has ever experienced. Even though they have many similarities the similarities are outweighed by their differences. World war 1 started July 28, 1914 when Gavrillo Princip assassinated Archduke Francis Ferdinand of Austria. Archduke Francis Ferdinand had traveled to Sarajevo to inspect imperial armed forces. The Archduke was touring Sarajevo in an open car when Serbian nationalist Nedjelko Cabrinovic threw a grenade at their car the grenade rolled off the back of vehicle and wounded an officer.
