Abundant in traditions and culture, Judaism and Buddhism provide a spiritual path for followers. Both faiths are two of the four major religions of the world. The religions’ central belief is to live a fulfilling and deserving life. Buddhism and Judaism identify as two seemingly diverse religions, yet still bear many resemblances to each other within their beliefs and practices.

Some people may think that Hinduism and Buddhism are the same religions with just two different names. They aren’t, Buddhism and Hinduism both have different types of rituals, holidays, founders, and so-on. The two extensive religions of Hinduism and Buddhism have lots of information behind themselves. They are made up of cultures, rituals, practices, and many other things.

Judaism was able to hold up the religion because exiles had built a distinctive religious community based on their conviction that had a special relationship with Yahweh. Their devotion to Yahweh was expressed in Torah and these enabled Jews to maintain a strong sense of their religion. Jewish monotheism, scriptures, and moral concerns also influenced development of Christianity and Islam. Jews had a really strong believe in Yahweh and Torah. Buddhism became very popular religion in Northern India, merchants who went to trade to different places spread their faith. Buddhism was very popular in China. After fall of Han empire, Buddhism received strong support from nomadic people who migrated to northern China and spread Buddhism and practiced it, and that’s what they believed for years. In present world people that believe in Buddhism are mostly found in China.

As a college student that has lived and grown up in western New York, I do not have too much experience with the other religions of the world. I have grown up a Christian Protestant my whole life, and I am a firm believer in my religion. Soon after reading the chapter on Buddhism in Huston Smith’s book The World’s Religions, I came to understand and respect the Buddhist religion. I came to learn who the Buddha as a man really was, and the steps he took in becoming a religious icon. I know understand that Buddhism is not all meditation and relaxing. The differences between Hinduism and Abrahamic Religions are many. The primary difference of beliefs is that Abrahamic Religion believes that there is one God. Hinduism beliefs vary being Pantheistic, monotheistic and polytheistic it is one of the most complex religions of the world. Buddhism is very different from the Christian worldview. The first question ask about the origin of Buddhism. The Buddhism faith could be viewed as being atheistic. According to Buddha life was never here to begin with so it is a waste of time to think of where we came from. Also Buddha says if God exists then it is irrelevant, impersonal, and agnostic. However, the Christians faith believes the opposite. Christians believe that life began when God created life. “In the beginning God created everything in the world. These religions are considered Abrahamic because they all consider Abraham the Biblical patriarch or father. In Judaism, there is a story behind him questioning the faith of the gods.
