Based on my analysis, both organizations do not have the capacity to manage change, however, out of the two, Middleboro Community Hospital is a little better. Both organizations are suffering from drastic leadership changes where people are either retiring or leaving. Having a strong leadership is the first step towards change management and both do not have that. MCH, however, has the support of its Board of Trustees due to their keen involvement in the operations of the hospital. The executive team meets with the President weekly and tours the hospital. As a nurse, it is important to have positive outcomes. There is currently one hospital within a 5-mile radius of my current facility. The two hospitals that are in this comparison are Kingwood Medical Center and Memorial Hermann NE. My place of employment is MHNE. So, when compared to Kingwood Medical Center, Memorial Hermann NE scores slightly better in both categories. Kingwood Medical Center patient satisfaction was 70%, while Memorial Hermann was at 73% with state and the national average of 76% and 73%. Reggie is a not-for-profit school located in a suburb just outside Chicago called Evanston. Evanston is the home community for Northwestern University. So much of the town is considered college town however the remainder of the town is diverse in cultures and socio-economics. As you walked down the streets of Evanston many different colors of people walk along with you. Evanston shares a strong interest in the Arts. You may find small art galleries with local artist’s work being displayed for sale. You will also find many small shops with very unique and one of a kind merchandise being sold.
Per Reporter: The family arrived to North MS Medical Center early morning 8/7/17. According to Shiro, the baby was sleep on a mattress on the floor. The baby rolled off the mattress onto the floor. The baby was not breathing nor crying, which prompted Shiro & Keterio to take the baby to the hospital. Upon observation, the baby was bleeding on the brain. The baby is in the process of being transferred to LeBonheur’s hospital in Memphis. Law enforcement has been involved with the family at the emergency room. No further details are known.
FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital is working on renovations to their hospital. The county has seen growth in the community and with golf tourism to their county in the past few years. To develop the revenue enough to generate a definite bottom line; FirstHealth wanted the county commissioners and the community to support the renovations with the renewal of the ending annual $4.6 million tax support, which outlined about 15 percent of costs. Developing the project a financial transaction group of members developed forecast revenue that involved profit increase from the new physicians, increase from clinical services, and advantages of expense based reimbursement of a CAH. The forecast indicated FirstHealth’s debt expanse of $41 million, FirstHealth would be able to finance the whole expense of the renovation, while depending upon using their own money to retire the $3.3 million of remaining debt. A plan was generated for the renovation project that was inside the $41 million budget. Securing the financing, convincing the county commissioners, and gaining the community support are the three sources of revenue that will assist FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in the financial forecasting.
