Get all materials prepared. Take one shot glass and fill it with 2 teaspoons of clorox performance bleach. Take the other 4 shot glasses and fill each with 2 teaspoons of each separate solution- hydrogen peroxide, vinegar, beer, and water. Place 5 radish seeds into each shot glass. Let the shot glasses sit for 24 hours in a room temperature area as the seeds soak. After 24 hours, take out the seeds and rinse them separately under water to get rid of excess solution. Take the bowl of water and the paper towels. Submerge your hand in the water, then pat the paper towel with your hand, to dampen the towels before planting but not to the point where the towels are soaked. Do this for each group of seeds soaked in the solutions (5). Place 5 seeds
It is recommended that you begin with ¼ teaspoon of Willard Water CLEAR concentrate and add it to 8 ounces of distilled, spring, filtered or non-chlorinated water in a plastic cup, not glass. Do not use carbonated water.
In the dishes, I dropped the appropriate treatment into the center, where the marks were made. Next, I closed the petri dishes, taped them up, and let them sit at room temperature for a week. Then I opened them up to take two measurements. The first measurement was the number of seeds germinated. The second measurement was to measure the seedling lengths.
The experiment was begun by obtaining four 8 oz. Styrofoam cups and punching a hole through the bottom of them. This hole was for water entry or excess water drainage. Moistened soil was packed to the 1/2 full line in the cup along with 3 fertilizer pellets The cups were labeled the following: Rosette-H20, Rosette-GA, Wild-Type-H2O, and Wild-type- GA.(Handout 1) A small wooden applicator stick was obtained a moistened at the tip with water from the petri dish labeled ‘water.’ This was to be able to attract the seed to the applicator in order to place the seed from its original container into
For my seed experiment I had decided to see what the effect of sprinkling salt on a radish seed would be. So for my control group I had set six (6) cherry radish seeds in between a damp paper towel and then closed it within a Ziploc bag. For my experimental I had set it up the exact same way as the control group but I would sprinkle salt on top of seeds before I zipped up the baggie. I sprinkled the salt on the experimental seeds and dampened the paper towel once every day. Each bag was stored in the light and at room temperature (~70° F.)
Step 12. After you let the dye sit for as long as you can, rinse clothing well, let air dry.
2. Using the tweezers, lift the steel wool out of the vinegar and shake if gently over a paper towel.
Add three seeds to the potting mix and cover seeds with little remaining potting mix. After the addition of the potting mix, use a dropper filled with water and water each cell until water drips from the wick. Then place the quads on a watering tray under the fluorescent light bank. Each cell should have an equal distance from the light bank. Quads should be three inches below the fluorescent light; the light should also be left on all day. Make sure all wicks are in contact with the mat that sits on the watering tray. Also watch out for the watering system regularly throughout the experiment. After four to five days record plants in the quads, giving their phenotypes in a table for each cell removed all but the strongest plant.
Step 7- Place all four containers into the refrigerator for 20 minutesevery day so they will be around the same temperature and exposed to the eggs the same amount of time, as they stain. Step 8 – Repeat the above steps each night for five nights. Step 9 -Record the staining effects each day and photograph the results.
10.Clean up: Rinse reaction vessel, empty collection box, dry table as needed, cleanup up any baking soda spills..
Place it in the refrigerator and let it sit for 2.5 hours. This is like brining the salmon.
The second step of the experiment was to soak the seeds in water overnight. This action was made to prepare the seeds for germination and making them more softer and less rigid. The seeds were placed in a bowl and were covered by tin foil. It was set up on the refrigerator to minimize any outside interference that may come to it. After a full night of absorbing the water, the seeds were ready to start the next stage.
Cut the avocados in half and remove the stones. In the hole put 6 drips of Worces-
3. Pour 2 tablespoons of a cream cleanser, like Imperial Gas Fireplace Glass Cleaner, directly on to the glass.
The most common used conditioning method includes soaking them for three days. After this, add fish oil, blood meal or other organic fertilizer for up to 5 days. Use small quantities and continue watering. This creates a heat process which will continue for at least another 2-3 days. After the bales have cooled to a point where they are a little less than body temperature, they are ready for planting. At this point, either place organic seeds or seedlings into the pockets.
I get my pot ready and gently plant the seeds into the soil. It’s a bit fiddly whilst wearing dragon hide gloves but I manage it. I water them straight away. I sit down and look at them. I don’t know what I expect to see. I
