When I originally changed my major, Fall 2015, I was weary of the prospect of taking acting classes. It further made me rethink my decision, when I entered the class on the first day and we placed our chairs in a circle. I am used to talking in front of large groups so I wasn't concerned with stage fright. However I was concerned about my ability to memorize lines, put emotion with them and portray what the text intended.
It calls for need to identify the central idea and unify the interpretations of different scenes with their relevant characters. Important as well to be able to harmonized the movement of actors on the stage and merge them with the pace of every scenery and line. Necessary also is the ability to plan and coordinate lights, sound effects, scenery musical accompaniments and all other production components. Directing is the function that brings quality and completeness in theatre production enabling the team to achieve their artistic visions(Innes and Shevtsova 34). Directing requires collaboration with other sub-disciplines hence the need to have various skills in each of them for a harmonized work relationship. To occupy the position of directing one should be able to assume varying authority and responsibilities. One must as well b e able to utilize a wider assortment of philosophies, techniques and collaborative levels. Due to this fact there is growing demand for professional training programs in directing. Theatre and Musical Theatre has been a form of entertainment since before North America was “discovered”. Broadway shows have been dated back to the early 1920’s and 1930’s. By 2016, over 25,000 tickets are sold to Broadway shows in a week. Thousands of people enjoy the shows that are featured on Broadway but have no idea the work and process that brought it to life. The process of getting a show on to Broadway can be broken down into three phases: pre-production, staging, and performance/promotion.

Review all objectives and make sure that your presentation of the content will support those objectives. Review all slides and slide notes before each session making your own notes as needed.

H is all about hand hygiene, before starting any IV the nurse or nursing student should practice good hand hygiene skills. This needs to be done before and after the procedure. Also washing hands for 30 seconds with soap and water.

Possible Misconceptions: Because students are not performing, they sometimes think that they are not active as an audience member. Remind students of how they can be active, respectful audience members throughout the performances.
Today I was assigned with the wound care nurse. She taught about the importance of repositioning patients at least every two hours to prevent pressure sores from happening. She also taught me how to do dressing while explaining what type of dressing should be applied to a specific wound. We did a lot of patient care teachings regarding pressure sore prevention such as offloading the patient’s feet when they’re lying supine. Being the monotone and unenthusiastic person I am, acting for a grade is my biggest nightmare. Projecting my mousy voice to a class of 100, while remembering all of my lines, takes all of my effort for the next four years. I love filmmaking, but behind the scenes is my comfort zone. My Shakespeare in Performance’s final project is to perform a scene from Othello. Although the quarter has 2 weeks left, I wanted to go to visit my Teaching Assistant, Krista Skorupski, for a few tips in order to survive this real life terror.
For most of you, this may seem terrifying. Exposing your weaknesses and vulnerabilities is a daunting task. I, however, enjoy the rush of getting up in front of an audience and making a complete fool of myself. I have been active in community and regional theatre productions since I turned 8. From being a Munchkin in “The Wizard of Oz”, to playing the lead in the homecoming show, theatre has changed my perspective tremendously.

Start at the beginning with your notes close at hand. When you come to one of the problem areas work with your notes. If it was a flash/manipulation problem then make those adjustments. Do not just walk through the change. Actively rehearse it. Work it into your show.
