A day known as one of the deadliest terrorist attacks on the United States in history. Hijacked planes crashed on September 11, 2001 into the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and a field in Pennsylvania. From the horrific attack in 2001 to this day, there are still new theories coming out about what happened on September 11, 2001, as more information becomes available. There are some conspiracy theories that have credibility and could possibly be true. The government is so powerful that they can keep their hidden agendas from ever leaking to the public. What many people believe is that the government planned the attack. The spotlight was and continues to remain on Bush because he was the president at the time. He was the person of the highest authority in the government and people feel the need to push blame on him. There was a video of Osama Bin Laden confessing about the attacks and most people believed him when he took blame. Some do not believe him and that is why there are so many conspiracy theories on based on 9/11. The government caused 9/11 to divert the public’s attention and there are many theories that can provide reasoning as to why that theory is correct.
The planes did not cause the World Trade Center to collapse, but rather there were bombs that were set off to make the buildings collapse shortly after the planes hit them. The planes were just used as a distraction while the bombs were being set off. According to Harris (2000):
If you remove the support
On September 11, 2001, 19 people hijacked four airliners and carried out suicide attacks against their targets.. Two of the planes crashed into the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, the third plane hit the Pentagon just outside Washington, D.C., and the fourth crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. Over 3,000 people were killed during the attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., including more than 400 police officers and firefighters. (“9/11 attacks”2010). The conspiracy theories started just days after the September 11, 2001 attack. The conspiracies were easy to spread fast when using the internet and they became more and more elaborate as time went on. The most popular 9/11 conspiracy theory is that 9/11 was orchestrated by the American government.
September 11th 2001 there was a surprise attack on the United States by terrorists. The terrorists allegedly hijacked four airplanes. One was meant for the White House, one was meant for the Pentagon and the other two were meant for the twin tower which fell and many lives were lost. However some say it was not terrorists and that it was the United States government and that the government set a bomb and that they had several motives to do this.
Roughly 2,753 people were killed on September 11, 2001, by terrorists who overtook commercial airplanes (Jones). The cause of these thousands of deaths were a series of attacks in New York City by an Islamic terrorist group, Al-Qaeda. However, there are still many questions about what actually happened the morning of September 11, 2001. As there are many different conspiracy theories about what happened that day, 9/11 was an attack which began with Al- Qaeda hi-jacking airplanes, but ended with more questions than answers. Many questions still remain about the authenticity of cell phone calls from inside the planes, why air defense was told to “stand down,” and how three buildings imploded as the result of two buildings being struck by airplanes.
The attack on American soil on September 11, 2001 is one conspiracy theory to consider. The timelines given to the American people concerning the 9/11 attack do not make sense. At approximately 8:46 am the American Airlines Flight 11 heading to Los Angeles crashes into the North Tower of the World Trade Center, and at 9:03 am the United Airlines Flight 175 strikes the South Tower of the World Trade Center. The American Airlines Flight 77 traveling from Dulles, Virginia
9/11 was of the biggest “terrorist attack” in the United States History. Many building was destroyed in this single day. The Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, the pentagon, and crash in field near Shanksville in western Pennsylvania. The day of 9/11 was a conspiracy.
The events that occurred on September 11th, 2001 are some that will never be forgotten in American History. What was a beautiful day in New York City quickly turned into a American Nightmare as multiple planes where hijacked by a terrorist group by the name of Al Quida. While these events have where one of the worst tragedies in American history their also comes many conspiracies theories. Some of these theories suggest that George W. Bush knew about or even planned the tragic events that happened that day. However these conspiracierie theories are simply false. Conspiracy theories that blame the events that occurred on September 11th on the American Government are not true. Still to be able to prove these theories incorrect one must understand what exactly happened on that terrible day in New York City.
Also if one takes a look at the video footage of the World Trade Center’s collapsing, one can clearly see several levels down a perfect explosion coming out level by level by level. The explosions are so precise that there is no possible way that they could’ve occurred by the collapsing itself. These explosions were caused by bombs that were placed inside the World Trade Center days before September 11th. An unexplained fire drill evacuation can prove that claim because why would everyone be ordered to evacuate the building days before September 11th? Maybe they were preparing for something in the event of an emergency (Hoffman, 2005). Actor Charlie Sheen says in an interview with Texas radio host Alex Jones (2006), "Call me insane, but did it sort of look like those buildings came down in a controlled demolition?" (¶ 3).
Those who believe the WTC was destroyed by controlled demolitions argue the debris that blew out of windows was the result of an explosive. But experts disagree by saying the debris was simply the contents of the offices inside being blown out with air as the floors collapsed on top of each other. Also, demolition professionals say explosives are placed on lower levels, whereas, the planes hit the buildings at very high floors. No signs of a bomb were found in the wreckage of the buildings (Debunking the 9/11 myths, n.d.). Those who believe the planes that hit the WTC were remote controlled say there is no way al Qaeda could have even come up with the plan to hijack and crash the planes, much less have acted it out within an hour. The manufacturer stated the planes that hit the buildings had only one system of control: from the flight deck. Many telephone calls were made from passengers on the planes saying they were being hijacked.
September 11, 2001 was a day that everyone who was old enough to remember will remember for the rest of their lives. I was in the fourth grade when the World Trade Centers were crashed into. I remember our principal coming on the intercom and saying that we were not allowed to turn our televisions on. I did not understand the magnitude of the situation until I got home and my parents explained it to me. I remember that every plane I saw over my head scared me and I was afraid that a plane was going to be crashed into my home or school. The general population reaction to the attack was that of hysteria and worry. People were afraid of flying. People also feared that this was only the precursor to an even bigger attack that was being planned on the United States. The public wanted someone to blame for the incident and they wanted to know why the government had not prevented the attack if they had been given intelligence that an attack might happen. The years leading up to this terrible day in history were full of tough decisions. No one can say that the government was not interested in terrorism at all. They had small departments in the FBI and CIA that looked at and interpreted terrorism related intelligence. The decisions the government had to make changed the United States forever. There was not one factor that defined how the government dealt with terrorism collectively. The government had to take into account not only the actions to take against
Before the settlers landed in Jamestown, The Indians occupied the land and lived there for centuries. They were the first people to arrive in Jamestown. Some say there were 25,000 Indians; others say around 50,000 of the American natives, who lived on the land. There were about thirty different tribes whom the powhatan chiefdom took charge. However, each tribe had their own chief. In time there would be a change; King James 1 of England granted for another colony to be established under the Virginia Company of London which consisted of many wealthy Englishmen who wanted to invest their money into the company. They expected to
On September 11, 2001 four passenger commercial jet airliners were hijacked and as a result approximately 3,000 human lives were lost. When asked about 9/11, many can recall exactly what they were doing when they heard the news that a plane crashed into one of the World Trade Center (WTC) buildings and many Americans can tell you how it all unfolded and the reason behind such a travesty. The “official story” provided by officials, and restated by Sofia Shafquat, producer of “9/11 Mysteries: Demolitions” say that “four passenger planes were hijacked and taken radically off course, within an hour, two of the planes had flown into the enormous steel towers of the World Trade Center, creating fires and eventually toppling them” (Shafquat).
The morning of September 11th, 2001 began like any other day for most Americans. All across the country, millions prepared for their commute to school or work, while aboard four doomed airliners, hundreds of passengers huddled in fear of nineteen now infamous hijackers. By the end of the day, thousands would be dead or missing and a country would be left reeling by the worst terror attack in world history. 9/11 is perhaps the most significant cultural and political event in the history of the United States of America, and anyone who was alive that day and old enough to remember the events as they took place can tell you about the utterly unique combination of fear, shock, and rage felt by every American as they watched two of the largest buildings in the world, symbols of New York City as recognizable as the Statue of Liberty itself, crumble into a heap of rumble on the streets of Manhattan. Yet, like with many events in human history that are almost too large or devastating to comprehend, it didn’t take long for some people to begin trying to make sense of what occurred by theorizing about government complacency or complicity in the attacks. These theories, often supported mostly by photos and video footage that is put forth as inconsistent with the official story, usually revolve around claims that the destruction wrought by the hijackers could not have been accomplished through plane crashes like the ones that occurred on 9/11. While sometimes compelling, these claims of
“The (WTC) collapse appeared to be similar to a controlled demolition” (Thomas, 07/08/2011). Many speculated that the towers were in fact blown down with explosives placed in selected locations. Some witnesses accounted hearing explosions inside the building as they attempted to escape the building. Many architects and scientists maintain that jet fuel cannot produce enough heat to melt the steel frame of the two buildings. There were no planes to hit building 7 of the trade center, but it was demolished in the same fashion as the twin towers were.
The September 11 attacks were tragic events that had spread shockwaves of horror and grief across the United States. The tragedy became the subject of controversy as some skeptics began to doubt the details reported to have transpired that day. Some people question its legitimacy, theorizing that the Bush administration devised and orchestrated the attacks to further its agenda. Filmmaker Dylan Avery discusses and promotes this prevalent conspiracy theory in his documentary, Loose Change 9/11: An American Coup. Avery argues that the government possessed foreknowledge of the attacks by comparing them to precedents of similar situations. He challenges the official explanations and provides his analyzations of evidence from the reports and media. Avery effectively appeals to pathos, ethos, and logos in his film, but his compelling argument is ultimately undermined by fallacies.
September 11, 2001, millions of New Yorkers and American citizens woke up and started their day, unprepared and unaware for the catastrophic attack that would be taking place in just a few short hours. At 8:46 a.m., Eastern Standard Time, Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower. The impact killed all of the passengers and crew as well as hundreds inside the building. At 9:03 a.m., a second plane, Flight 175, crashed into the corner of the South Tower killing passenger, crew, and workers who worked on floors seventy-five to eighty-three. Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. killing approximately 185 individuals (History.com Staff). Because of the damaged to the support system, fires, and impact at extremely fast speed, the South Tower collapsed at 9:59 a.m. (Lipton and Glanz). Having heard about the acts of terrorism that had just taken place in New York and Washington, D.C., a group of passengers drove their plane, Flight 93, into a Pennsylvania field killing everyone on board but possibly saving hundreds of other lives in the process. The North Tower collapsed at 10:28 a.m. 102 minutes after being struck (History.com Staff). On September 11, 2001, almost twelve hundred people were wounded or killed by “coordinated suicide attempts” by Al Qaeda terrorists. In result to the four airplanes being hijacked and used for premediated reasons, the United States government instituted new regulations for entering the country and airport security as well as expounded on systems already in place.
