Craziest Week of My Life
Like Emilie Autumn says, “Some are born mad, some achieve madness, and some have madness thrust upon 'em.” The majority events in my life had always been like a mad man lost in his thoughts. Although there were many crazy weeks in my life, there was one week that I will always remember as if it were yesterday. The craziest week of my life happened in 2013. I had to move from California to New Jersey. Next, I reconnected with my biological mother. Finally, I was involved in an intense family argument.
To start, I had to move from California to New Jersey. Moving to New Jersey was never a plan for my family and I, but because of my grandpa being laid off from his job, we had no other option. My sister and I rode a plane while my grandparents drove to New Jersey. Once we arrived at the airport, getting our bags together and plane tickets had already become an issue. My sister’s bag was overweight and needed to be at least eight pounds lighter, which was no surprize giving the fact that the wheels on her bag could barely withstand the weight. Once we unpacked some of her things into my suitcase we were able to go on the plane. On the plane we were still wide awake but the guy next to us was snoring so loud it would have been hard not to. able to sit next to each other. My sister and I had no clue where to go once we landed off the first plane. We had to pace around the airport from one area to the other to find our bags, so that we could be
Getting on our plane was probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to, especially since my dad couldn’t come with us that day. December 8, 2010 was the day my family decided that moving to America would give me and my brother many more opportunities, keep in mind my parents hadn’t told us that we were moving to the US. I remember I had been hugging my dad saying goodbye to him and my mom had to come and grab me away from him. His face was through the window was the last thing I remember seeing before buckling my seat belt and laying down on my mother’s shoulder. Once we had landed my mother woke me up and said to me that I should help out with the luggage and the other belongings we had to take. The night went by probably faster than
Three summers ago, my family and I decided to fly to Florida for my dance nationals. When we arrived at the airport, we had to check in our luggage and then move on to the waiting area and wait for the call of our flight boarding time. While waiting, I thought about how I had my one carry-on luggage and my other two suitcases were somewhere, either on the airplane or on its way to be put onto the airplane. I realized that I had put trust in the airport (JFK) to get my luggage onto the plane safely and a guarantee that it will be there at my destination when I go to pick it
I ran around the house, informing everybody that I found my ticket. Although my parents were so relieved that my ticket was found, they were also worried we would miss the flight. My dad quickly carries down everyone’s luggage, putting it by the door. With only a matter of minutes to spare, everyone grabs their luggage and runs out the door. My parents help my sister and I put our luggage into the trunk and everyone grabs their seat in the car. As the car engines fires up, everyone makes a last minute check, making sure they have everything, especially their
When I was 3 years old, just 19 months after my sister was born, we went on a trip to Florida. We had to wake up at about 3:00 a.m. ,because it takes us an hour to get are luggage in the truck and to get everyone up and dressed. Our truck was a black Suburban. It took an hour and a half to get the airport, an hour or two to get our 3 bags of luggage on the plane,to get breakfast,to get coffee for my Mom, Dad, Nana Pat, and, Papa Daryl. Finally, we got a security check for all of us.
Being the middle child, my parents have always taken the older sibling on trips and so when the opportunity came around for a trip. The time was 11:00 am. The date was June 3rd, and the destination was San Francisco. When we arrived at the airport and were waiting to get on the plane the time flew by; 3 hours felt like 30 minutes. I waited anxiously for the plane to take off and when it did, my stomach turned upside down. I knew there was no turning back now. We landed at the San Francisco airport, and my parents told me we got a rental car, and I got to pick it out. I chose a slick, deep red Chrysler; the idea of that car gave me a spring in my step.
I finally made it to America! The journey from Italy was definitely more challenging than I would have expected. When I first decided I would move here, I didn't expect the amount of storms that we hit. On the week journey, there was only a few days when it did not rain. We were so close together in the bottom of the ship that there was barely any room to breathe! I was barely allowed on the upper decks, which made the lower deck seem so much more crowded. I heard someone say that there was around 3,000 people on the ship alone, and most of them were in steerage class with me. I didn't get the opportunity to change my clothing, and we were only allowed to shower in salt water, if at all. The meals consisted of soups or stews throughout
During the first plane ride ever I was having mixed feelings. I would remember leaving my good friends, my aunts and uncles, but my mother told look at it from the bright side, your going to have an education and, you would
Three years ago, on an early, hot July morning, it was time to begin our trip to Tallahassee and Perdido Key Florida. My parents were buzzing around the entire house to try to finish up the packing, and the last final details such as food, money, and all those things that adults have to worry about before a big trip. My brother, Zach, and I were sitting in my muggy living room with all of our bags watching Spongebob, trying to comprehend how we are possibly going make it through a 16 hour car ride. My parents aren’t too keen on flying, well, actually my mom isn’t too keen on flying. My parents rented a car for us to use on the trip, because my mom didn’t want to add anymore miles on our ten year old van. Basically my parents could not trust
I planned this trip in November, so I got a plane ticket for December 21 and come back to CO on the 30. My uncle and me had to get up at 4:00 am, so he can take me to the airport to get on the airplane that I had to get on. He help me get my plane ticket then he left. I was in the line to put my bag on the plane, then I went to the plane, but I had to wait in line to get on the plane. After that I got on the plane and sat next to the window. I had to go to Houston, Texas to get on another plane that is going to New Orleans, so my granny and sister can pick me up from the airport.
I’ll never forget the time i moved to Maine. We drove a whopping 22 hours to get there. We came from virginia and traveled over the course of a day. My mom was very tired and was awake on coffee and energy drinks. That made me feel bad because i wasn't sixteen so i couldn't help. We stopped at some places along the way and saw mountains and beautiful
When we first landed in New Jersey, we had to wait because we had to wait for the other people going to Latvia to arrive in Jersey so that way we all were on the same plane. When everyone showed up, the girls seemed to bunch together and the guys seemed to bunch together. And myself, I was sitting all alone, thinking that I had made the biggest mistake going because I didn’t think that I would get along with anyone. “I wondered how Rebecca and I would get along.”(Gutradt 9). No one would talk to me and I wanted to talk to them but I felt alone and uncomfortable, even though I had my cousin and grandparents, my cousin found people to talk to, so I was alone even more. When we got on the plane, I got to sit next to my cousin which was awesome because I didn’t want to be next to someone who I didn’t know and didn’t talk to at the airport, the plane ride was about Twenty-two hours, which let me say was so exhausting. Being on the plane for that long is fun, but it gets very boring after a while because you’re not doing anything but sitting there and looking out of the window or listening to music, which if you don’t have enough, you will run out and listen to the same things over and over
This past year I had to wake up around 5 o’clock so that I could get ready in time to leave early. The first thing I did was take a shower, then I finished packing my bags, and finally I got ready to leave. My grandma came and picked me up around 5:45 and we headed to her house. Once, we got to her house my grandpa was in the motor home and ready to go. We loaded the rest of the bags into the motor home and then we were on our way. After a long 5 hour drive (that I slept during most of) we made it to our destination.
Lost my way in Seattle airport was the first thing made me felt nervous. It was already in America, but I didn’t have time to take a time for looking out the view outside because I couldn’t fine the place to transfer my luggage to Salt Lake City, also, the time was limited for boarding but I was still looking for where I could get the boarding pass. I was running in a hurry and kept asking people for help, it was winter but I
My family and I were so excited that we didn't even sleep the night before. We spent our Thursday night watching movies and talking about what are plans were for the trip. Once the clock hit 4 o'clock in the morning , we left our house and were on our way to the airport. The airport was quiet and peaceful. I could smell the freshly brewed coffee once I set foot in the airport. We checked in, then waited patiently for our flight to board. Suddenly we heard on the overhead speaker, “Flight to New York, New York is now boarding, Flight to New York, New York now boarding.” Once we boarded the plane, we settled in and got comfy. The flight was fairly smooth with little turbulence and the sweet sound of babies crying filled my ears. Once we heard the pilot's voice telling the crew to prepare for landing, my excitement grew big.
My journey the day I left my home country in search of a better life was not as pleasurable or exciting as I expected. Although it was not a long flight, the accumulation of unexpected vicissitudes during the trip made my dream of traveling an absolute nightmare. Not only my sadness to be leaving my family behind, the uncertainty to fly alone and for the first time, or my inexperience with the procedures at the airport contributed to this calamity, but even my neighbor on the plane added his bit of sand in the affair. All this situation was such traumatic to me that I even considered never daring to fly again.
