Creationism, it is theory that claims every element in the earth, including living species, are all created by the god as the Bible said, which denies the evolutional theory came up by Charles Darwin. Then, since Darwin’s evolutionary theory is testable and make solid predictions whereas creationism cannot be tested nor predict precisely, it has been considered as a pseudoscience. However, recently there is a Ph.D. Biochemist bring creationism theory back to the audience again, his name is Duane Tolbert Gish from University of California. Dr. Duane T. Gish has written several books and articles to support creationism, and the most famous one is Evolution: The Fossil Say No!, which published in 1978. In his article, he denied the evolutionism since he claims there is insufficient fossil evidence to support Darwin’s theory, and which would prove creationism is real.

After looking at the old-creationist’s views and their supporting arguments to their claims, the focus is now shifted towards young-earth creationism and why it is the one more likely to be true of the two theories.

Within many countries, notably the United States, there is a perpetual debate on whether creationism and intelligent design are valid alternative theories that should be embodied within the curriculum of science classes. ‘Through local school boards, sympathetic politicians, and well-funded organizations, a strong movement has developed to encourage the teaching of the latest incarnation of creationism—intelligent design—as a scientifically credible theory alongside evolution in science classes.’ Creationism is the rejection of evolution in favor of supernatural design (Pennock, 2003) and the belief that there is a God. Intelligent design stems from this understanding and defends that many biological functions are far too complex to have been created by evolution - in which a higher being was involved in designing them. Evolution holds a great significance in the education system today and is a fundamental idea within biology classes all around the world. The contending viewpoints suggest creationism and intelligent design should be taught parallel to the theory of evolution and hold similar significance within the science lessons of high school students. In turn, many biologists have fought against legal cases in the hope to cease the implementation of these substitute theories and to keep them out of biology classrooms.

Creationism is the theory that man, the earth, and the rest of the universe was originally created rather than randomly exploding from nothingness into chance existence. We reside on the surface of a small superbly crafted, autonomous self regulating space vehicle. Together with survival, conquest and death we bear witness to beauty, fragrances, love and music. In the paper, “Darwinism versus Creationism”, the author, Akudo Ejelonu, attempts to provide an overview of this controversial topic. Adopting a tone of objectivity and balance, Ejelonu begins her piece with the statement that “there is a difference between Darwinism and Creationism” -- the former concerned with science and the latter centered in “belief”. However, by the conclusion of the opening paragraph, her argument appears slanted in favor of the Creationist point of view:

As we all know there are many theories for the evolution of eukaryotic from prokaryotic, but how the prokaryotics came in existence or the beginning of the evolutionary process from one single cell to a complex structure, no one knows for sure, there are only theories for now. Both evolutionists and creationists use evidence to support their theories, but it is difficult to come up with proofs. No one was present as observer when life began, or when the life transformed from single cell prokaryotics to multi cellular eukaryotics neither model of origins can be reproduced in laboratory experiments.

The origin of life is a topic that is constantly debated on. There are numerous standpoints, all with their own evidence that backs up their claim. Some refer to a Creator as the source of all life, a view which is known as creationism. Progressive creationism is the belief that God made his creation over the course of millions of years. Through microevolution, his creation got its variety. This view is well supported by biblical and scientific evidence, which allows it to be more credible than other types of creationism.

Did life begin with the idea that living organism developed and diverse from the beginning of history of earth till now, or did the universe originate from a divine God in seven days? With the debate of creationism vs. evolution, many forget the theory that life or the universe has arisen, designed, was created by an intelligent entity.
