Throughout my academic career, I have often fluctuated between various future paths; at first, it was my goal to attend law school and become a Criminal Prosecutor, while, later on, I was dead set on the idea of pursuing a career as a Criminal Psychologist. I even considered becoming a chef at one point. Despite the twists and turns it may have taken me to arrive here, I feel fulfilled and confident in my decision to pursue a career in Psychology (beginning with my Bachelor's Degree). One of the factors that has inspired me to choose this path is my experiences working with children as a camp counselor. Interacting with these kids, it has become clear that the work of psychologists and mental health professionals is critical, and it is necessary to further current practices and provide guidance to those who need it most. Especially since the COVID-19 Pandemic, I have encountered more and more kids and young adults in my work who require the type of help that can only come from mental health and psychological professionals; it is these encounters that have most inspired me to pursue a career of my own in the field of mental health.
