In today’s world, people have become very used to using high technology in the 21st century such as computers, smartphones, and recently, smart watches. This technology is so common that many people rely on their devices just to perform some basic tasks for some of the most common jobs. In fact, these devices also help people stay in contact with one another. While this new age of technology has brought along many great innovations and made the lives of many people a lot easier, it has also opened up the world of cybercrime. Cybercrime is particularly dangerous because it is significantly more difficult for a criminal to get caught due to the fact that they may be all the way on the other side of the globe. The most common cybercrimes that people will hear of is identity theft and credit card scams because those crimes are among the most difficult to solve and the criminals usually have multiple victims. The worst part is that there are not enough people studying computer science or any other science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) major let alone graduating with said major. People want to have a sense of security and keep their most sensitive information private which would mean making computers more secure and teaching people about the basics of online safety.
