De-regulate the medical profession. The government has to many regulations on who can do what in medicine. Someone who is a 3rd year medical student can perform surgery and medical task and a nurse with 30 years of experience can’t. We live in a county with more than 300 million people and only have 600,000 doctors, that’s 500 patients for every doctor. There are many potential students who can make it through medical school but cannot afford it, or a family crisis. Over 95% of forms are rejected and its true we want the most proficient team of medical students but in a health care crisis like we have we have to take our chances. Some may fear that this creates more medical accidents with lesser trained people but if you give people a …show more content…
I asked my doctor if he uses all the medical school training he got and he said that you need to know basic knowledge but most doesn’t really help know what your doing, it takes experience to really be good. For example, would you rather have someone who has 10 years of medical experience performing a surgery he or she has only done once of twice in all their years or someone with only a year of experience but specialized and well educated on that specific procedure? There should be levels in the system based of experience. Someone with 10 years of medical experience should be a level 3 doctor or nurse not like we have now were your either a doctor or a nurse. Each level will have sub levels of specialties so then the patient can choose who would be the best for them. Allow health insurance companies to sell across state lines. Possibly the biggest obstacle to lowering costs is that insurance companies are required to only sell policies in their own state. Getting rid of state boundaries would mainly increase competition. The high priced companies would have to close due to the low priced, well run companies. Less paperwork and more technologic dominant companies would come out first. A big part that would change is over-regulation in states would be eliminated. Over-regulated states like New York charge almost 3

This type of work does not require a high level of education, but it does require supervision to ensure the job is being completed correctly. In compare, a manager may supervise health care professional, who have been trained to act independently, make most of their own decision, and determine most of their own behavior, and example would be nurses or doctors. They have a higher level of education that is required to complete the job, but often require the most general direction. A human resource manager of the health care organization employees may require regular supervision, but also must have a higher level of education to complete the daily job duties. Basic or little to no education would not get the job done, but would not require the level of education that health care physician’s need to do their job.
You have to show that you care, because if you don’t things will only be negative and later on will become complicated and stressful. Integrity is a very strong virtue that anyone can have because it shows that you can be trusted and that you are a very honest person. Nowadays, they have a system called HIPAA, which is used in hospitals nationwide. HIPAA is used for
Professionalism is an adherence to a set of values comprising both a formally agreed-upon code of conduct and the informal expectations of colleagues, clients and society. The key values include acting in a patient's interest, responsiveness to the health needs of society, maintaining the highest standards of excellence in the practice of medicine and in the generation and dissemination of knowledge. In addition to medical knowledge and skills, medical professionals should present psychosocial and humanistic qualities such as caring, empathy, humility and compassion, as well as social responsibility and sensitivity to people's culture and beliefs. All these qualities are expected of members of highly trained professions.
For the last five years of my life I have worked in the healthcare industry. One of the biggest issues plaguing our nation today has been the ever rising cost of health care. If we don't get costs under control, we risk losing the entire system, as well as potentially crippling our economy. For the sake of our future, we must find a way to lower the cost of health care in this nation.
LEADER’S EFFECTIVENESS USING UTILITARIANISM AS THE ETHICAL DECISION-MAKING APPROACH IN REGARD TO THE HEALTHCARE CHALLENGES SET FORTH BY THE PROTECTION AND AFFORDABLE CARE ACT OF 2010
Today I am going to be talking about how immigration from the European Union affects the NHS- our national health service.
The education background is there so that you know the medical language of the field. Having the ability to know what the body consists of and how it functions. This will help with reading a patients chart and knowing what codes to use for services provide to the patient. A hospital would not want to hire me if I did not have the right training and education background; over a person who has the training, knowledge, and education. Many courses that need to be completed is a follows: health information, insurance, medical law & ethics, coding and billing, reimbursement. You have to know medical terminology which is the language the doctor uses and this will allow you to know what to code and bill. Anatomy & Physiology which is the structures of the body and how they work. You have to know pharmacology which is what pharmacy workers need to know when disbursing medication. You have to know Pathophysiology which is diseases and how they work. This is good for an MRT person to know so that they know how to interpret when it shows up on a patients chart. When completing all of these courses it is good to have an externship ready and think about shadowing someone in the career.
America is a country in trouble. The leader of the free world is losing touch with the beliefs that it has been founded on. Its government grows farther from the people creating a clear distinction between those in power and those not, and on March 21, 2010 they passed a major bill. A bill that makes the American government the care providers for the country, essentially stating that companies lead by American citizens were not capable of doing it themselves. The bill that was passed is known as the Health Care-Reform bill. This Health Care –Reform is a terrible solution to the even worse problem that is Americas’ broken Health care system.
I think health care reform ought to expand competition, it ought to empower patients and it ought to disempower government bureaucrats from getting in between us and our doctors. I think the best way to do that, 3 concrete ideas. Our number one, allowing people to purchase health insurance across state lines… number two as doctor Ben Carson talked about very effectively, expanding health savings account so
One successful solution that has worked in many other countries is founding a universal healthcare system, foreign countries have already started their universal healthcare system. A question someone might ask is. "If that's the case then why haven't we started our own universal healthcare system in america?" Well to answer that question, Many counterarguments claim that
America is without a question the leading country of medical and scientific advances. There always seem to be a new medical breakthrough every time you watch the news or read the paper, especially in the cure of certain diseases. However, the medical research requires an enormous amount of money. The U.S. spends the most money on health care yet many people, mainly the working class Americans are still without any type of health insurance and thus are more susceptible to health risks and problems. The concept of health insurance for Americans was formulated over a century ago. Most Americans obtain health insurance from
The healthcare system plays a key role in the economic stability of our country, as every year trillions are spent in attempt to combat disease and health issues that plaque humanity. As it makes up a significant amount of the expenditures in the economy, so the costs associated with health care of those in pain from illness and injury, including lost productivity, increased need of assistance in living and also the cost of death in some cases, is important to the economic stability and over all standard of living in our country. The key to economic prosperity is balancing the need for care with the costs of illness to keep as many people healthy and well without breaking the bank of collective society. The costs of healthcare have been increasingly problematic in recent years with so many issues surrounding the current system. With the “total health care spending in the United States expected to reach $4.8 trillion in 2021, up from $2.6 trillion in 2010 and $75 billion in 1970, meaning that health care spending will account for nearly 20 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), or one-fifth of the U.S. economy, by 2021” (Aetna). With this in mind it is apparent that as we look at the trillion-dollar industry of the medical community it seems that it needs to be a major focus of our nation as a whole and with the many issues come many creative solutions. First let us analyze the reasons behind the current cost and the major problems facing this industry and than discus what
In the fall of 1862, a war raged between the union and confederate forces at the Battle of Antietam. More than 130,000 soldiers fought, more than 22,000 were wounded. On the battlefront was a woman, Ms. Clara Barton, nicknamed the “Angel of the Battlefield”. Ms. Barton observed the strain of frontline battle, namely hunger, sickness, and wounds and once said “I may be compelled to face danger, but never fear it, and while our soldiers can stand and fight, I can stand and feed and nurse them”. (CITATION) It is this same dedication to nursing and our armed forces that drives my philosophy of nursing.
It is said that a healthy nation is a wealthy nation. Healthcare is an important concern for every government as people get ill, accidents happen, emergencies arise and the health institutions are needed to diagnose, manage and treat the different types of ailments or diseases that may arise. The healthcare industry is divided into several areas in order to meet the health needs of anyone and everyone. All over the world, the healthcare structures are different to accommodate specific needs of the people in that demographic however the healthcare methodology in Third World Countries does not accommodate the needs of their respective inhabitants in comparison to First world Countries. The Rate of corruption, quality of healthcare institutions, lack of adequate, functional surveillance systems and problematic hygiene conditions are amongst the top reasons why the healthcare systems in third world countries are substandard in comparison to First world nations.
