In the Shakespeare Play Romeo and Juliet there’s somebody to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence, Romeo, and Juliet equally showed a responsibility for the deaths. Friar Lawrence played the biggest part of why Romeo and Juliet died. When Juliet was complaining about killing herself he stopped her from doing so, Friar Lawrence explained that there's a potion that would put her to sleep and would help her get out of marrying Paris. In the Shakespeare’s he stated that “When you’re in bed, take this vial, mix its contents with liquor, and drink. Then a cold, sleep-inducing drug will run through your veins, and your pulse will stop. Your flesh will be cold, and you’ll stop breathing. Once Romeo got the news that Juliet was ‘dead’ he was devastated and went to get apothecary poisonous potion to kill himself instantly, instead of waiting for Friar Lawrence to get there. In the Play Shakespeare stated that “Come, bitter poison, come, unsavory guide! You desperate pilot, let’s crash this sea-weary ship into the rocks! Here’s to my love! ROMEO drinks the poison. Oh, that pharmacist was honest! His drugs work quickly. So I die with a kiss.” (Act 5, Scene 2, Line 120-125) . Romeo drinks the potion and It immediately kills him. Romeo drinks it because he thinks that Juliet is dead but she’s just faking it. He kills himself just before she wakes up from her ‘death’. She played a huge part of it because she went a lot with drinking the potion & stabbing herself once she found out Romeo was dead. Juliet is held accountable for her actions, she was the cause of why their both deceased. In the play its stated that “Oh, noise? Then I’ll be quick. Oh, good, a knife! My body will be your sheath. Rust inside my body and let me die. (she stabs herself with ROMEO’s dagger and dies)” (Act 5, Scene 3, Line 180-185). Juliet doesn't see Romeo and wonders where he is. Juliet ends up seeing that he's dead, even though he’s dead she kisses him to see if the apothecary would kill her too. Juliet ends up hearing the police coming and she took Romeo’s dagger and stabbed herself so she could die and be with Romeo. Juliet only has herself to blame, she didn’t have to go along with Friar Lawrence drinking that potion or stabbing herself just so she could be with a man she barely even
