My local high school’s football team has recently encountered a complication in that most of the players are not performing up to their full potential. In fact, the team has been getting worse over the last couple of months. There are many possible reasons for this, but by using the scientific method, I discovered the source of the issue.
I began gathering data and calculated that the cause of declination in the football team’s performance was caused by something encountered at school because the few players who were homeschooled were not affected and maintained good performance. I also discovered that many of the players went to practice having eaten nothing for four hours. According to an online article, “Not eating increases sluggishness,
Researchers and team sports professionals all over the world are using performance analysis both to improve their understanding of their sport and the development of their teams (Taylor et al., 2008).
There are a lot of aspects that should be taken into account when determining what makes an athlete successful. One could argue that natural ability is one of the determining factors which leads to success. For example, if an athlete has dreams of playing in the NBA then height makes a difference. There aren’t many successful players in the league under six feet tall. One could argue that level of competition plays a role in the development of an athlete. This could include the skill level of the opponent or outside factors such as playing conditions or game circumstances. These types of arguments play a role in athlete success, but will not be used in this paper because they are factors that are out of the athlete’s control. This paper
In “What is the Safest Starting Position for American Football Players?,” scientist’s Bruno Bonnechere, Bennoit Beyer, Marcel Rooze, and Jan Serge Van Sint explain their experiment showing the pro/con ratio for football players who practice with various sprint starting positions, and the “learning process effect” (Bonnechere, Beyer, Rooze, Serge Van Sint, 2014) amongst football players and non-players. The results from different tests give a conclusion that is targeted to football players, and the officials of the game.
According to the National Federation of State High School Associations studying in California, “1.5 million preadolescent and adolescent boys participate in high school football” (qtd. “Injuries”). That is a lot of students at risk for injury while playing high school sports. In the two seasons of high school football seasons observed in California, “players sustained 25.5 injuries per 100 players” (“Injuries”). With all those injuries, students are likely out of the game and are possibly hampered in other parts of their life, adjusting to their injury. With these injuries on young bodies, they can cause many problems in the future. The issue of injuries to students participating in high school sports cannot be ignored.
A Macrocycle plan was made for a Private High School flag football team; will focus on the athletes’ individual’s skills such as; strength, agility, speed and power. The importance on focusing on this these specify skills it that flag football is like American football. As an athlete that have played this sport before understands that American football is aggressive, tough, may cause extreme fugitive if not adapted it. Although that is true in flag football players don’t tackle and there fewer players in the field. Both are still harsh in our bodies that requires a lot energy. Which is important, understand how to train our athletes all year around. In our program, which follows a full year of predetermined exercises. Within the program, there’s an off-season, pre-season, in-season and post-season. For the program to be successful all athletes must be tested and prescribed an exercise regime. This Macrocycle program is an overview of the entire team. Individuals will require concrete routines that are categorical to their playing position.
Have you ever felt like you’re not good enough, not knowing just how much potential you have? One of the most salient experiences of my life was making the Island Coast High School football team, because it taught me that to succeed you must be confident in yourself. The old me would have thought, “ I’m not good enough,” because I never thought that I could compete with kids that already played football. I suppose that I always felt like i couldn’t compete with football players because whenever I would play football in eighth grade, I would not be able to keep up with them. Little did I know, all of that was about to change the day I made my way to the middle of the humid, scorching fied, staring into the eyes of North Ft. Myers Highs’ freshman football team.
College athletes have worked both on the field and in school for decades for a chance to go pro. Athletes risk their careers for an education in the long run for a hope at getting a deal in a pro league or scoring an education. Athletes know the risk of playing the sport but love the activity enough to stay throughout the years. Playing a college sport is a way for students to receive educations or to be able to go pro in the end or even do both. Over years, players have become successful but some were not so fortunate after injuries that left them unable to play. Students know risk of playing a sport from the time they first start playing the sport. From 1988 through 2004, there were 200,000 injury reports, this data includes when an athlete misses a day or more of practice or competition, which
Physical and mental strength plays a major role in a football player’s life. Football is a twelve month process, which consists of off- season (six months), in -season (five months), and the Transition (one month). During off-season the football player’s main goal is gaining strength, size, and much power, in-season they continue to practice and work on maintaining the gains in strength during the off-season, and the transition is when they rest and recuperate their body from the physical exercise. Football players are constantly bumped and knocked down during practices
As a learner i'm a balanced person who loves to communicate. As i'm balanced I do sports and school and still get my work done. In sports I play football I communicate during football because you have to tell your teammates what play you're doing and how to do. I'm also a good risk taker because you have to hit and dive for the ball. The difference between my learning and my sports is that my sports are active and my learning isn't as active and i'm always moving to do something or for fun. As a learner I love to write about fantasy because I love to make things up writing for me is easy to come up with because fantasy is easy to make up because it's supposed to be making up. the fun thing about fantasy is that you can write about whatever
Socioeconomic status influences students in many different ways. When a child is hungry it’s extremely hard to concentrate on the curriculum. Furthermore, students who have not eaten anything usually have behavior issues too.
After six months, students who decreased their nutritional risk showed improvements in all these areas” (Jane L. David). When students have a good balanced meal, they are able to cope with daily tasks, and are able to maintain focused. By supplying students with fresh, healthy, and appealing school meals, the malnutrition rates will decrease, and students’ brains will develop faster and better.
When picking an NFL team to win it is smart to analyze different ways of predicting who is most likely to win a head to head matchup. There are 32 teams in the National Football League and knowing a little bit about each team can increase the chances of picking the right team to win that week.
Maybe your just a little to short but for whatever reason I hope that this poem
“The initial consequences of hunger are subtle: fatigue, irritability, dizziness, frequent headaches, and difficulty concentrating but have a tremendous impact on a child’s ability to learn and perform in the classroom. Children will complain of physical ailments that result from a lack of food or insufficient amounts of nutritious food, often including headaches and stomachaches. Another symptom of hunger in children can been viewed through overall energy levels. A lack of nutrition can make school-age children lethargic. Children living with food insecurity may also have
Most people only see me an average kid, playing a game on a field, with a soccer ball. Nothing more, nothing less. I think about times when I played well, when I played poorly, when not everything has gone my way. I have had coaches tell me I'm one of the best on the team and I have had the director of coaches for my club tell me that I lack the skill needed to play for the A team.
