What is a Hero? A hero; in my opinion is selfless, what they do is not for them but to help others. When I think of heroes I’ve always thought of the brave men and women who serve and have served in harms way to protect this country. Maybe call me old fashioned but any man welling to put his life on the line for people he loves that’s what I consider a hero. A true hero never calls himself a hero, he doesn’t do things for his popularity or to be recognized, he or she does it to help. I guess you can call me a realist (real life scenarios) I’ve never really been in to the comic type heroes like superman and batman but more like Chris Kyle who was an American navy seal sniper who killed countless numbers of enemies and saved an immense about
When one thinks of heroes, names such as Ghandi, Martin Luther King, and Mother Theresa often come to mind. These people had done a lot of favors, courage, helps, and more of things for the people who needed them. The true definition of hero is a man of distinguished valor. Bravery, courage, intrepidity, boldness, daring, and prowess in war are a hero’s characteristics. However a hero is understood to be different to everyone. Upon closer examination, many different qualities than these become apparent. The definition of heroism changes with the context and time. Heroes of the past are not necessarily heroes of present time and vise versa. A person can be a hero for saving the life of one or of millions.
Everyday, society misconceives identities. In the eyes of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “A hero is no braver than any ordinary man, but he is braver five minutes longer.” Heroism, in Emerson’s perspective, is the ability to stand out for longer, and to endure hardships for greater durations. The passengers on United Flight 93, which was hijacked by terrorists as part of the September 11 attacks on the U.S demonstrated bravery like few other civilians can measure up to. Although it is not clear whether passengers on the other hijacked flights fought back persistently, it is known that the passengers on Flight 93 attempted to take control of the plane, and were successful. During the 35 minutes the passengers spent attempting to get into the
What Do Heroes do? The question most of us want an answer to. First off Heroes are people that will help other. Like therapist help people and doctors help people. Today we will be focusing on a person who has thought me a lot about drug and what they can do. Mr. Novak was my drug teacher in 5th grade. Mr. Novak would come in once a week and he would tell us not to do drugs. But not in a regular like parents would explain. Mr. Novak explained it like it was a job. He told my and my class that drugs can get you into tough situations. Drugs can make you do things that you will regret later on. For example, if someone takes drugs and they kill someone. They are going to be in jail or even be sentenced to death. He also taught us about CHS. He
According to Merriam-Webster Dictionaries, a hero is “a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities” (“Hero” def. 1). A hero is also “a person who is greatly admired” (“Hero” def. 2). While brave acts, fine qualities and admiration generally sum up what a hero is, I believe that these individuals who impact our daily lives deserve more respect and honor than what this simple definition gives them. A hero is someone who is genuine, valorous, and not afraid of self-sacrifice.
Being a hero is very important, whether you're a teacher or a firefighter, or maybe someone volunteering to donate water to Flint, Michigan being a hero to someone is really important and you could do it today if you really think about it. These are some of my personal beliefs about what makes a person a hero.
There are many types of heroes (such as the ones in comic books, myths, movies, or even just everyday life heroes) but all of them have perseverance when they’re going through a conflict. Heroes are role models and they’re people that we look up too. They all have unique and special qualities that make one another different from each other. For example policemen battle crime everyday and when they’re overcoming a conflict they have determination, courage and other traits that people admire them for and that make them as a hero. Typically a hero is admired for their achievement/actions and qualities.
Hercules, Harry Potter, Robin Hood, and Guy Montag; What do all these people have in common? They all are heroes that have helped their society and conquered their journey. Literature has always included heroes. There was Hercules in the Ancient Greek period, and now stories are told of superheroes like Spiderman and Superman. Ancient heroes and modern heroes have always played a role in society, by giving the people hope and someone to have something in common with.
What is a hero to you? Is it a firefighter, police officer,or soldier ? A hero is person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. “No matter who you are, no matter where you come from, you are beautiful.” - Michelle Obama. “Turn motivation into dedication.” - Allyson Felix. Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them.”- Madam CJ Walker. These women are heroes because they’re inspiring, empowering, and strong women.
The definition of hero in merriam dictionary is “ a person who is admired for great or brave acts or fine qualities.” To me, a hero is someone who you look up to, someone who you can model yourself after.A hero is someone who helps people, saves people lives, and risks their lives for someone else’s life.Someone who sets an example for you and someone with a good set of morals and values, however for some other people this is not the definition for a hero and they have a complete opposite recognition of what they believe is a hero.I know that for a lot of people the Hitler and Saddam Hussein is a hero. They like them whether they know how they do terrible things and they killed a hundred of thousand innocent people, just because they are not
Many people would say that a hero is a person who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities, like it says in the definition; but to me a hero is also someone to look up to or aspire to be. Heroes have special qualities that make them heroes; they could be inclined in a certain sport you play, or they could have been valedictorian in their high school class. They could have written your favorite book or taught a class in school. Either way, your hero could be anyone. They might be someone you follow on Twitter or Instagram. They could be someone you watch on YouTube, or an author, or an athlete. They’re possibly a famous musician, a cosplayer you really like, one of your teachers, or even your mom or dad.
If you have ever been called a hero you might want to reconsider if you really deserve that title. Dictionary.com defines a hero as “a person noted for courageous acts or nobility of character”. This essay will show you that isn’t the full story. Heroes are uncommon and humble people that do good for the sake of others.
Being a hero is to stand up for what’s right without expectation of benefit. If someone stands up for not only himself/herself but for those who are like him/her, he or she can be considered a hero. Because if they can stand up for their own desires and help out others at the same time, that’s showing bravery and kindness, what every hero needs. Being a real hero is to risk your lives for others, showing optimism even when something bad happens and remaining non-avaricious.
Example: a hero is a person who help people in need. A hero can give advice to the person who needs it. Everyone has a hero in their lifetime. A is a police officer a firefighter a hero is the person that comes to you when you need the help. Nothing is better than a hero. Your mother and father are heros because they want the best for you and sometimes you might aware of that.
The word "hero" can be seen differently by many people. Some people see heroes as ones who put their life on the line serving our country. Other people see heroes as those we see on TV. For example, many consider Superman, Batman, and Thor to be classified as super heroes.
A group of ordinary people once wrote “A hero understands when people want to know how things are, you understand that many of them don't want to know what your therapy life is affecting your family life, they want assurance that events will turn out for the best, that life will stay predictable.” Anyone can realize when someone needs help and understand that people may not want help, but most of the time those people still go ahead and help that person and even try to help their life for the better. Even when tough decisions or obstacles are thrown your way, heroism means putting others before yourself, knowing that there is no recognition that comes with helping and one still does it, and fighting for the better good of others.
