Definition Of Heroes

As Novalis, a famous German poet and philosopher once stated, “A hero is one who knows how to hang on one minute longer.” A hero does not show worry, but pushes through and can be courageous for only a little while longer than everyone else. Because heroes are people who put others before themselves, they must go above and beyond and not worry about their own safety.

A hero is someone who puts others before themselves and never gives up. They can be an ordinary person, but it is their actions that make them true heroes. Heroes are people that make the largest impact in a person’s life and has influenced their life to be better. Heroism can be sticking up for others or putting others before yourself.

Heroes do what's right, even if they put themselves in danger. For example, in everyday life, people like firemen, paramedics and soldiers risk their lives for the common people every day. Heroes are willing to give something up for the greater good of others.

“A hero is no braver than an ordinary man, but he is brave five minutes longer,” (Ralph Waldo Emerson). A hero is just like an ordinary person, but they make a choice to rescue someone, and put their life on the line. For instance, a hero is valiant when they need to be, sacrifices themself for another, and they don't put another in harm’s way.

“ A hero is somebody who voluntarily walks into the unknown .” When a hero keeps on going and never stop trying that makes them a hero.When a hero puts there life at risk just to save another life, even though it could mean losing their own that makes them a hero. Someone who goes through great challenges but never stops trying is a hero. Ahero is not someone who gives up or someone who is selfish.Heroism is being selflessness, someone who makes sacrifices, and someone who never gives up.

In poetry and in song, literature, and action movies, the hero embodies the qualities of bravery, strength, and honor. According to Merriam-Webster, a hero is a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability: a warrior: a person admired for achievements and noble qualities: one who shows great courage. While others define this concept as a trustworthy cause a selfish or unselfish act. On the other hand, a hero is someone who stands for integrity and justice for all mankind and willingly put his life in peril for that belief. As noted there will always be different definitions of a hero as of the diverse perspective on the issue.

Criminals Turns Heroic. In the novel The Outsiders a heroic act was made. This act was made by Johnny, Ponyboy and Dallas (Dally). The heroic act was made in Windrixville, Oklahoma at a worn down church.

The definition of a hero is someone who risks their lives to save someone who they know or don’t know.And knowing they would die but going anyways.

A hero is someone who helps others and strives to make the world a better place. Our world is shrouded in the darkness of others and heroes are often the light to our darkness. While most people get lost in our world, some people help shine a light on others and make the world a better place. An example of this is a mission worker spreading hope and joy throughout the world. Heroes often sacrifice themselves or their power for a greater good.

Heroes are not always people who lead marches or do things for their country. For example policemen, firefighters, nurses, lifeguards etc. are heroes everyday because they take the time to save lives. When they’re going through a challenge or trying to overcome a conflict they always have courage. These people risk their own life to save someone else’s. To be more specific Dr. Ginger Holt from Dallas had saved a little boy’s leg. She was confident and determined to finding out what went wrong in the boy’s leg and went through many procedures looking at the tests.

When the word "hero" is spoken, everyone has different thoughts. Some will think of super powers like flying and saving people from villains; while others have a certain person they know or have heard of that come to mind who have done something to make a difference in the lives of others but who is a hero to you? To answer this question you must first ask yourself what a hero is; what comes to your mind when someone says the word. When I am confronted with these questions I always have the same thoughts; smart, strong will power, and someone who stands up for what they believe is right.

A Hero is someone who puts the needs of others before their own needs. Nanny sacrificed things she needed in order to provide for her seven children, her grandchild, and her husband. There would be times that Nanny wouldn't eat ensuring everyone went to bed full. My mother was sent to Nanny's house and Nanny took my mom in when she didn't have to. She had many jobs ensuring that her kids would get to have an education.

Martin Luther King Jr. once said , “No one really knows why they are alive until they know what they’d die for.” Today we live in an egoistic society; in which we have to remember who are actual heroes are. ‘What’s a hero?’, some may ask themselves.The qualification of a hero differs from person to person. Some people have an uncertainty about what defines a hero. A hero is an individual who altered someone for the better. Heroes, despite their fears, head into the unknown. The roles we play in our lives today, will affect us in the future.
