It is immeasurably important for teenagers to see someone, especially a notable public figure and childhood role model, who can relate on some level. It can set someone on a completely different trajectory to witness that their situation can get better. There are abundant resources, healthy outlets and people to help. Simply by telling her own story, Demi Lovato humanizes these conditions and spreads the message that no one is alone. Getting to where she is now was a fight fueled by resistance, temptation and outrage. She eventually understood that to change she had to “lean into the people that are trying to support [her]” (28:55). The documentary leaves viewers’ heartstrings echoing and as they feel a little more familiar with the powerful voice behind the hit song on the
My life would be incomplete without performing music. I’ve spent time, in concert bands, in bell choirs, in school and church choirs, and singing, playing in music festivals, and in pit bands trying not to laugh my head off at the actors’ improvisations. But the art that truly speaks to my soul does not lie in creating music, it lies in dancing to it.
In the film ‘Her’, directed by Spike Jonze, the main protagonist,Theodore Twombly conveys the idea of alienation via technology and its possible effects, due to his depression via his divorce and his easy going relationship with an artificial intelligence operating system named Samantha. The idea of alienation and technology and its possible effects on human relationships is conveyed via the quote, “Sometimes I think I have felt everything I'm ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I'm not gonna feel anything new. Just lesser versions of what I've already felt.” Theodore recently experienced is his divorce depression, and therefore becomes vulnerable, anti-social from society and isolated himself, by spending time with the artificial intelligence

Music has always been integral in my life. During my childhood, when I was four years old, I pressed my fingers on an oven handle like a piano. Throughout my childhood years I listened to my mom’s old-school mix CD’s, along with the Pandora music app on my old Kindle. In fifth grade, I picked up the piano. My alto saxophone studies began in seventh grade. When high school arrived, I turned my focus to guitar and voice. The more knowledge I absorbed, the more knowledge I craved. My decision to pursue music was also influenced by the inspirations I’ve encountered on my journey so far.
I grew up in Washington D.C with my dad’s recording studio in the basement. Day and night, I would hear the beats of R&B and jazz surfing up through the floorboards. My parent’s were always listening to everything from Motown to John Lennon, Broadway musicals to Otis Redding. I loved it all - Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Nina Simone, The Supremes, Elvis, Billie Holiday, musicals. To this day, those musicians inspire me. The second I knew that I had to be a singer was the day I fell madly in
America has always been fascinated by the notoriety of serial killers; however, there is not much scholarship on female serial killers and their histories. On YouTube, there is a podcast named "The Big Séance Podcast" hosted by Patrick Keller. Within the podcast Patrick is having a discussion with Victoria Cosner Love about Madame Lalaurie and her history. Madame Lalaurie was born in 1775 to Barthelmy Louis Macarty and Marie Jeanne Lovable, the Macarty’s were prominent among New Orleans society, having emigrated to the Big Easy (New Orleans) from Ireland in the 1730s. Victoria is the author of the book, "Mad Madame Lalaurie: New Orleans' Most Famous Murderess Revealed" which portrays the real-life Delphine Lalaurie. This podcast discussion will be reviewed by the dramatics used by the sources, the aspect of having an agenda, the credibility of Victoria Love, and the accuracy of their contents.

It is a blessing to be even in the presence of such a beautiful soul like Melody. Admiration for her is placed on the highest pedestal and over the years she has brought nothing hope and faith to an obsessed fan’s life. She warms the heart of many with her love and kindness. In musical events she can leave the whole crowd in shock with her musical abilities, and can make any elder feel younger, because she is ancient. All the knowledge she has can encaptivate the most critical of thinkers. Melody is such a wonderful graceful soul it is no mystery why she is the favorite of
Something you may not know about me. I come from a musical family. My Dad was a choir master. As a child I was surrounded by music and sang everything from the Beatles, Nat King Cole to Elvis. I was a legend in my own mind.

In the first chapter of her book Hip Hop and Religion, Monica Miller compares hip hop to "dirt" to underscore societal opposition to this cultural art form (Miller 26). She claims that since those in power believe hip hop is disorderly, hip hop is often perceived as a cause of social unrest instead of a criticism of societal faults (Miller 27). Throughout this discussion of hip hop as a "matter out of place", Miller describes that the distinction between socially acceptable and unacceptable cultural forms is made intentionally by those in power (Miller 32). While reading this chapter, I kept thinking of Iggy Azalea, the Australian rapper who in popular culture has been exiled from hip hop (Drake 2). Similar to Bill O'Reilly's attack on hip hop as a motivator for societal disorder, some from the hip hop community such as Azalea Banks and T.I have claimed Iggy has exploited the black experience for profit (Miller 24, Drake 2). Others celebrate Iggy Azalea for her ability to succeed albeit momentarily in a black, male dominated rap industry (Hope 1). Understanding the contradictory perceptions of Iggy Azalea allows for a discussion of the power structures and motivations inherent to hip hop. Throughout this essay, I will use Miller's depiction of "dirt" to describe Iggy Azalea's rise and exile within the hip hop community.
"From the start, people have said , you know we have the right to edit and to approve all footage,” said Kim Kardashian about "Keeping up with the Kardashians", a show that started in October in the year of 2007. Based on this quote from Kim Kardashian, I think that the show is not real. In addition to this opinion, I think this show is bad because it only shows what the family wants people to see and not the real version of them. "Keeping up with the Kardashians" is negatively affecting teens around the U.S by showing girls that they need to "fix" themselves to seem beautiful to others. Due to the fact that people, especially girls, watch this particular program, influences girls on how to act and how to make them feel beautiful.
Beyonce’s “Lemonade” album gained a lot of praises for its artistic portrayal of various emotions, but it also displayed the pop singer’s twisted understanding of Christianity.
Reportedly, all is well between the American actress Demi Lovato and American singer songwriter Adam Lambert.
