“DOG.” That's all I could think. Today was the day me and my dad would go pick my dog bud from the springs, I was so excited! Finally, I would get a lifelong friend. When it was time to go we loaded up in the car. During the ride we got hungry, so we stopped at Pete's dinner on the way. My dad had a burger and I had steak, the steak was incredibly juicy, we paid a total of $10:30. But before we left my dad had to say hi to the owner because Pete was a friend of my grandpa's. Then we got back into the car and continued our journey.
While on the road I stared on the window, my dad raging behind me because he was cut off while turning. Though, I preferred to stay awake I fell asleep on the way only to be awoken when we arrived. We were greeted kindly by the breeder who gave us bud. He directed us to the living room where I would play with bud and the breeder and my dad would fill out the paperwork. There he was my soon to be dog, Bud. Bud was a brown and white shih Tzu, my favorite breed, with brown eyes and a hairy faced purebred. He was the best thing I've ever seen in my life.
While my dad was paying the breeder and filling out paperwork I was sitting and playing with Bud his little feet were so cute as he tried to run at me, such a ferocious beast. After about 30+ minutes of playing my dad tapped me on the shoulder and said it was time to leave. We loaded back up in the car, this time with Bud, except I was still tired, so I laid down in the back carefully
On my 17th birthday, I walked into my bedroom to see a snow white puppy with brown spots. He was in the middle of the floor laying on a furry, green pet pillow. A 4 month old pekingese that I named Baizil. He was afraid at first and only came out of the room for food, and to use the bathroom. Baizil was the sweetest ,laziest, most overprotective dog I had ever seen.
When I looked in the pen I saw a little puppy curled up in the corner, his eyes were shut and he looked so lonely. Picked him up and right when I picked him up I fell in love with him. I showed him to my sisters.
In addition to this, weeks later, I found myself at a shelter looking for a dog. As I walked down the hallway I saw this dog that popped out at me. He was so little, dark brown, big bold brown eyes, and all white paws, sitting there looking at me waging his tail. He even resembled a dog I had in the past. So I asked the lady to see him. When she brought him out we played and had a great bond like I have never experienced with any of my dogs. My family was also at ease because he was the only puppy to interact without
Suddenly, it was as if my memory went on replay. Memories of dressing up my dog and pushing him around in my strollers meant for dolls. The way he would never complain even if I handled him roughly. His deep, dark brown eyes framed by his rounded face covered in curly, white fur. I remembered playing with him in the grass a couple days after we had moved to Texas, relishing in the warmth of the sun, so unfamiliar for that season to someone who has lived in the North.
It had been an extremely long Thursday and the nice warm sun had finally disappeared behind the great big mountain tops. The sky was as orange as could be with very few clouds. We had arrived to the neat little area where we would spend the night. It was almost like a zoo, with five boys and a dog sharing a little cabin in St. Elmo that only had one bathroom and two bedrooms. We drove up to the cabin in Shel’s nice air conditioned car. We all got out one by one, Shel first, Jordan next, then Pablo, Dakota and myself. Shel approached the cabin to unlock the door while the rest of us unloaded the car and eager to let Shel’s anxious dog, Molly out. She had been barking the whole ride there. We were outside for the first time since the sun had
I remember it was raining that day. The ground was wet and the air was cool and there was a nice summer breeze. When i got home i drank a lot of water and eat some food i took from the party. I was very happy to get my black belt. My mother said she wanted to give me a gift, I asked her what type of gift. She told me she wanted to get one of the neighbors puppies. We rushed to the store and went to go get a dog bed a toy and food and water bowl.We bought this fake grass mat, it’s supposed to train the dog. Two hours after the neighbor came with the dog who was extremely excited to meet new people. He was small and a brownish color with very fluffy fur. Nice brown eyes and a curled tail. The dog was a poodle so his ears were floppy. He jumped on my leg and started licking my hand.I pet him, i was excited to play with him i took his toy which was a duck and too large for him at the
Growing up, my Grandparents had a Golden Retriever named Chief. Although he wasn’t really all that golden, he was more a rich copper red color. As kind and as fluffy as he was we were best friends from the beginning. Even after I got my own dog I was still infatuated with him. One Thanksgiving when I was around five we were at my Grandparents house. I played with him outside until my Mom hollered “Elizabeth! Time for dinner!” When we finally sat down for dinner, Chief was at my feet under the table and I snuck him food when the adults weren’t looking. After dinner, my Grandpa, brother and I went on a walk with Chief. Before we left I begged and begged for my Grandpa to let me hold the leash by myself. He finally said “ how’s this for a compromise, I’ll attach two leashes so both you and your brother can hold him.” I reluctantly agreed.
It all started on crisp morning, the day my parents told us that we were getting a dog. We asked “What kind of dog we were getting?” They said “The dog was going to be a Golden Retriever”. Everyone was excited about the dog. Then we all had to “puppy proof” our house just in case she would get into anything. We had to make sure that we had all the necessities for the dog.
My mom got us in the car and we did a drive over to the Grapeland Bulldog Rescue, they mainly rescued English and French Bulldogs, but the one my mom was after was Sophia. Sophia was a fat, white, 4 years old, smashed face, face only a mother could love kind of dog. She was a frenchie and those are high dollar dogs, but we were allowed to take her as long as we paid to get her fixed. The way my mom put it we were Sophia's “retirement home”, she had had 8 litters of puppies! Anyway while my mom talked business inside, Ally and I went outside to play with some frenchie puppies. They were so cute, smashed faced, chubby little things. They were white and black and super cute. After what I wish was forever, my mom called us inside and she and the lady who ran the place led us out back, she showed us Sophia's sister and Sophia's boyfriend. Sophia getting ready with the lady's husband inside, at this point I had no idea what sophia looked liked. Sophia’s sister was a lot like Sophia white, chubby, and smashed faced. Sophia's boyfriend was the same except black, and he actually had a tail. We learned a bit
It was August and I went to the pet store to get a new dog. My previous dog ran away and I never saw him again. I knew this was going to be the dog because it was my third dog now so I know exactly how to train them. I showed the nice lady which one I wanted and she got me it. It was a really little chiwowa. I named him Paco because it rhymes with taco.
One day around two o'clock pm I got a phone call from my dad. I answered it and it was awful news. He told me that our dog, Cruiser, had passed away. He was only four years old, and none of us were expecting it. I thought that nothing good would have ever come out of it. But something did. Cruiser and I were never that close, I never really ever wanted to go out and see him at our farm, but I still loved him to death.
A couple hours later, It was time to go. The breeder pulled out the forms and my parents signed them. “Ok, now we need the money.” the breeder said. “You already paid part of it, so this is the last payment. It is four-hundred dollars in cash.” “In cash?” my dad asked. “Oh no,” I thought. “My parents might have just skimmed over the forms before we went.” I really, really wanted to take this puppy home, were so close to leaving!
I looked at my dog and made eye contact with his large brown eyes. Time seemed to slow down as I read his eyes like an open book. I still remember the look today, while I was laying on the couch next to him. It was the most terrifying sight I’ve ever seen. My dog, my best friend, and the only thing to trust me with everything calmly could show that he had accepted death. For me though he was still could wagging his tail for us. The night I saw this was October 22nd at 8:02 PM. This dog changed my entire perspective on life. He was a dog that could instantly make a room bloom as a flower would, but with joy. He loved life and those around him and that caused us to love him so much.
My first dog was named Toby, he was a very white, ball of fluff. He blended in with the shiny white crispy snow on December 25, 2006. My sisters and I were on our way home from my dad’s house when all of a sudden we pulled into my mom’s house. On Sunday, December 25, 2006, Toby was waiting at our house. We all got out of the car on that cold snowy day and walked on the slippery sidewalk. The snow was like a chilling carpet on the bottoms of our feet. My mom opened the door with a camera so my sisters and I knew something was up. A shocking step in the house and we saw a very fluffy dog, we were very excited. He was like a deer in headlights. There was a bunch of screaming and yelling going on at that moment between the three of us. We
Even though it was summer it was still a comfortable morning where it was hot but with a perfect cool breeze. It was a time before my mom and dad had divorced.I ran outside and played barfoot in the grass while my mom and dad fixed up and old garden we had in the corner of our yard.We lived in a small but perfectly cozy house with a basement and my best friend Sasha,Sasha was a beautiful young dog at the time.
