Taco Madre is a new Mexican restaurant that opened in Niles, IL. There were several reasons why this restaurant caught my eye. The interior was designed wonderfully but the location didn’t seem like a good fit, the food was tasty, the people who went were from all age groups, and the music was entertaining. This restaurant had mostly pros with one con, but, overall, this is a restaurant that everyone should try because it has a taste of Mexico with a modern style.
The first time I went to Taco Madre, I noticed the location right away. This restaurant recently opened in my area, so my friends and I decided to check it out and get a bite to eat. I noticed it was located next to Papa Johns and a Wings restaurant. Because, there are other restaurants surrounding the premises, it will create competition. My first impression was to dock some points because of where it was located, but the interior area made up for it.
As I stepped inside the restaurant, the first thing that caught my eye was the walls because it had the same design as the menu. It struck out because the patterns of the flowers that were imprinted on the walls showed a lot of colors, which helped brighten the room and add a sense of dimension/comfort. Not only were the colors of the walls vibrant, but so was the salsa bar because it was presented with a wide range of spices to choose from. Moreover, Taco Madre had an excellent variety of food choices. Some of the food they served were tacos, burritos, and tortas. The menu was not overbearing like the Cheesecake Factory, but it was not limited like another restaurant. The aroma of the Mexican food would make anyone salivate, the food has always tasted fresh; plus, they put extra cilantro with a lime on the side. My friends and I combined the individual tables to make a gigantic seating arrangement suitable for the six of us. I ordered a Mahi-mahi, which is fried fish; there is an option of flour or corn tortilla, and for dessert I ordered flan. The flan had vanilla ice cream, cherries, and whipped cream added to the top. The Mahi-mahi was cooked to perfection, and the flan consisted of sugary ingredients, and the sweet taste filled my mouth. Another factor that struck out to me was
I give this restaurant extremely high marks for producing a quality product.” Another bonus is that the restaurant is very popular, meaning the food is in high demand. Therefore the food that is already out doesn’t have time to get old and stale. But consumers don’t just want great tasting food in any amount; they want enough to fill them up until the time comes for their next meal.
I love Mexican food, and as a native of Texas I’ve had plenty of it in my sixteen years of life. Just as a disclaimer, if you are not a fanatic of spicy foods, I would not suggest Torchy’s to you. From my first trip, I tried the queso first which contains green chile, quacamole, and diablo hot sauce, but as a lover of fiery foods, I fairly enjoyed this. Their chips are made homemade style and the only negative thing I would say is their chips are made too thin for their queso. The queso weighs too heavily on the chip breaking them in half 9 out of 10 times you go in for a delicious bite. When first beginning this assignment, I thought of choosing Vietnamese food because I miss having Vietnamese food for most of my meals, which was a luxury when I lived at home with my parents. Tacos…. What are they made up of? Well to start of their is a corn or wheat tortilla which is the base of the whole taco and in the taco there's a variety of fillings going from beef, pork, chicken to lettuce, salsa, onions, and cilantro(coriander leaves). A taco basically has a variety of fillings that makes it unique. My type of taco is made up of a soft corn tortilla, carne asada,and lastly onions and cilantro which is sprinkled on it and then ta-da, you have the type of taco I prefer which kind of resembles my family actually.
Friday night, with clouds rumbling and mist in the air, where a drunken man waited impatiently in his car as he was in line in the really busy drive-thru line at Taco Bell. He did everything in his power from stopping his bladder from exploding. His empty stomach (except for the alcohol) growled at him like it was about to attack from within, like a dog just saw meat for the first time and wanted some food. He blasted the horn at the cars in front of him as if his life was on the line. He had to go to the bathroom but didn’t want to lose his place on the line. Drops of sweat slid down his face as if rain was pouring on his head.
As you head toward the entrance of the restaurant, you will see hosts standing in the lobby to greet people with bright smiles on their faces. The hosts ask how many are eating and once you tell them the number, and pay at the entrance, the host will asks where you would like to sit. The restaurant has red, smooth, comfortable leather booths, which the guest can sit in. Furthermore, people have a choice between sitting down in the back or near a window. The restaurant is enormous and has attractive colors which make the room spacious, a lot of interesting pictures, and other decorations on the walls. The entire restaurant is packed with people eating, sharing laughter, and enjoying their meal.
