I feel that I am deserving of the scholarship monies because I work extremely hard in school and I always try to do my very best. My whole life school and my grades have been extremely important to me and I have always put them first. I feel that my good grades show that I care about my academics, I'm responsible, a hard worker, and that I want to be successful in whatever I do. If I revieve the scholarship monies I would use it wisely to purchase items such as books and also use it to help pay for my classes. They say that hard work pays off and I just hope that all the hard work that I have put into my academics will pay off in the end and I will recieve the scholarship monies that I feel I am deserving of. If so, I would be greatly appreciative.
If I am award the funds I plan on using it to help pay for the textbooks I need in different courses. Textbooks can be very expensive, and I have spent on average $900 dollars this year on textbooks. This scholarship would help lift another financial burden off my shoulders. I would also use the funds to help pay back my student loans. My goal is to finish college debt free and this scholarship would help me to achieve that goal. If I am award the scholarship all the funds will be used towards my
When I started volunteering at Utica Dance in the fall of 2014, I was just as nervous as the newly enrolled dancers in the class I was about to teach. Even though I was only the Volunteer Assistant to the Dance Instructor, I felt as if a heavy responsibility was placed upon me. I oversaw almost twelve children ranging from seven to thirteen who all wanted desperately to become professional dancers, many of which are still pursuing that dream. On top of that, all these children had begged their parents to sign them up for an expensive, intensive fundamental ballet program; then dragged their parents to buy tights and leotards; then dragged them into the waiting room of a dance
My effort to serve my community have been an immensely important area that I always try to expand on. From my hundred and seventy service hours, I have learned that giving back even in small amounts positively affects the lives of the people involved. My favorite memories of serving my local area is during the special NJROTC ceremonies when I am able to see the wonderful faces of veterans and military families when we present the colors or the veteran with a flag. Through school, I have been able to see the faces of incoming freshmen in my workroom mature into the present sophomores and the students today. In my church, I am apart of the Ushering team which assists with the service every few weeks. Through this, I am able to see the bright
The scholarship would help me pay for other classes that could help me study and improve my education in college. If I win this scholarship it would improve my mental focus in college. Thinking that if I can win this scholarship, I know I can graduate college. What I mean by this is if you have the patience and integrity to apply for this scholarship, you should have the will to graduate college. Also, if you want to strive for a scholarship such as this one, you should have the intention that you can graduate and college should not be that hard, if you work hard enough.
I have lived in West Liberty all my life, with my parents Corie and Ronda Peterson and my younger sister Morgan. I love golfing especially with my friends and family as well as spending time outdoors in the summer. My mother is my biggest inspiration because while she was fighting cancer she not only stayed strong for my sister and I but also she has taught me to be strong and to believe in who I am and who I will become. I am extremely excited to be furthering my education at Mount Mercy University to become a neonatal nurse, this scholarship will help me with my financial insecurities making me more confident to pursue my dreams.
Even though I do not have enough points to qualify for this award I am still going to apply, because although I may not have done as many things as others have within the building. The things I have been able to accomplish outside of the building have helped me lay the foundation for my education, career and overall life after high school.
If you were to slowly pour a handful of table salt into an entirely full glass of water, it would not overflow. Actually, the water level would decrease. The world of Chemistry is full of amazing science like this, which is why I am pursuing a degree in Chemistry at Fresno State. I plan on continuing my education after I graduate and earn a masters followed by working in the chemical engineering field. This goal could definitely be hindered by the fact that there are few chemistry scholarships at Fresno State. Scholarships like this will help my parents pay for my education, ultimately allowing me to reach my career goals while remaining debt free. I was awarded this grant last year and it contributed a large portion of my tuition and also allowed me to join one of Fresno State’s “Discovere” program. Discovere courses are general education classes in which tablets are used to collaborate with other students as we work together on class projects.
I believe that I am an excellent candidate for the In2ition Scholarship. I think that I deserve this award due to my proven track record and prior successes in both my academics and extracurricular activities. Over the past four years of high school, I have developed an unrivaled work ethic and critical life skills, which have taught me how to achieve any goals I set for myself. These skills and work ethic will most certainly remain with me throughout my post-secondary career.
Throughout high school, I always envisioned myself majoring in International Business and achieving the highest degree in that field. But, this past year and a half, along with the tense political season made me realize my true passion for politics. After thinking about it restlessly, I decided that it majoring in Political Science would be the most interesting and beneficial for me and my future.
In eighteen years of my life I have learned some qualities that I will carry with me forever. Playing sports have taught me how to deal with emotions and not always getting want you want, for example not always being able to win. I will never forget the lessons that I have learned through softball. I was raised as a Christian, but it wasn’t until I got older and became involved in my softball that I realized how you can apply your beliefs into your sports, your work and the way that you carry yourself as a person.
Being accepted to Auburn University is the greatest remarkable event that has happened to me in the past few months. There is something drawing myself to attend Auburn University and I remain unable to decipher it. I consider myself a worthy candidate for a scholarship as I have abundant leadership skills and I want to become an improved person. I reside in Georgia and that makes me an out-of-state resident and that will increase my tuition; I do not need this situation to stop me from going to my dream school. I love this school to the extent that I just did not bother about all the other schools that I have applied in since I already acquired acceptance in the one school I am interested in attending. Also, I have always liked the idea of
When I walked on campus my freshman year, I was not thinking about the rising costs of college. I was only thinking about how thankful for the opportunity to attend Drury University, for the local scholarships I was awarded at my senior honors night at East Peoria Community High School, for the Federal Government Pell and SEOG Grants I received and the $15,000 of institutional scholarships I was offered and accepted from Drury University. I was not counting on my brother dropping out of school, causing my families Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) to double the following year (which caused the Federal Pell and SEOG grant to fall off my Financial Aid Report.) I was not anticipating to find my college courses difficult, after all, I graduated 18th of 255 in
Why do I deserve to win? Well, why does anyone deserve anything? Is it by birth that we come to deserve things, that some call necessities and others privileges, or by just being human can one deserve something? I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I believe that my parents deserve not to go bankrupt putting me through school. Now how is $1,000 going to keep my parents off the verge of financial collapse? It won't, at least not alone. This scholarship along with the others I might be fortunate enough to receive will. Until the day when college is free, I and millions of students will have to pay for college this way, hoping that the generosity of strangers will pay their way. I hope that you help pay mine.
During my time at Grand Valley State University (GVSU), I was awarded an International Merit Scholarship worth $5000 per year. In addition in my senior year, I got a Grand Scholarship worth $1000. I received “I am Grand Valley” certificate in 2015. “I am Grand Valley” certificate is a recognition award for leadership contribution to GVSU community. I also received two times “Lead Like a Laker” awards for being exceptional RA in conducting roommate conflicts and remaining patient and calm. I find mediating roommate conflicts to be a very good training for clinical psychology, since there will be probably be patients who will have conflicts with their spouses/roommates/partners.
I believe that I am a great candidate for this scholarship because throughout my life I have tried my hardest to do my best to obtain an education that will take me down the right path. My family has always taught me to depend on myself as much as I possibly can before asking for help. I believe this is what I was taught because my family wanted to show and teach me individual responsibility in order to be a productive citizen in this country. With that in mind I plan on funding my own education to the best of my ability. I have a good foundation starting in high school with a 3.89 unweighted GPA and a 4.21 weighted GPA as well as a 96.88 numeric average which placed me at 6th in my class of 76.
