Diary of a Wimpy Kid Cabin Fever
The book that I'm reading is Diary of a wimpy kid cabin fever. The book is about a surprising blizzard that hits the Hefley home. Greg already doesn’t want to spend any time with his family over the holidays but the blizzard made it so he had to. The reason I picked this book is because I read the other books in the series, this is the 6th book in the series. The author of the book is Jeff Kinney and also the illustrator is Jeff Kinney as well.
Greg Hefley is the main character of the book I'm reading. The book is mainly first person, in first person Greg Hefley tells us how he feels about the holidays in a hummers way, in my opinion. The strategies Jeff Kinney used to communicate was manly emotions,

Abraham Lincoln is quoted as saying, “So you’re the little woman who wrote the book that started this great war.” upon meeting Harriet Beecher Stowe for the first time. The book that the former president is referring to is Uncle Tom’s Cabin, a 1850s book about the moral wrongs of slavery. It has been said to be the most influential anti-slavery book that has ever been written. Harriet Beecher Stowe is an effective author. She uses numerous literary devices such as facile characters, character foils, and symbolism to highlight her abolitionist views and constructs a persuasive argument against slavery.
What can be considered “good writing” varies with context. Qualities that make research papers well written are different from the qualities that make good short stories. In the short story writing community, writers have a small amount of time and space to communicate. Kurt Vonnegut’s story “The Kid Nobody Could Handle” in his book Welcome To The Monkey House exemplifies good writing because within its brevity it packs potent emotional impact. “The Kid Nobody Could Handle” is written with a pacing that pulses to multiple climaxes, a prose that indulges in just the right amount of metaphors, and a story arc that leaves the reader in the sweet bliss of a moral realized.
In Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck struggles to conform to society’s views and expectations. Society pressures Huck Finn into earning a standard education, but through his worldly knowledge and common sense, he can view the world differently than the people around him. Through his perspective on Southern society, Huck struggles to accept the moral beliefs that have been instilled upon him at birth because he befriends an African American slave. In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Twain effectively uses the motif of dead bodies to suggest that truth finally reveals the inconsistencies in society through Huck’s common sense.
I read the book A Child called “It”. I loved this book it really spoke to me in a manner of taking my family life for granted and taking everything I have for the best because in all reality it could be worse. This book takes place in Dale City, California during the 1970’s.
In the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Mark Twain juxtaposed events in American society to demonstrate to the reader contrasts between different levels of class and race in society.
In The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, the theme of individual identity, especially contrasted against mob mentality and assimilation, is present in almost every chapter of the novel. Throughout the novel, the characters within the story, especially Huck as the protagonist, make decisions regarding which type of mentality they will use, which then affects their relations with other characters, such as Tom Sawyer. In the book, Twain uses both Huck 's idealization of Tom and Tom, the physical being, as secondary characters to help the reader understand how Huck falls into both of these mentalities and how his identity as individual changes throughout the novel. This insight allows the reader to better understand Huck 's character by showing Huck 's response to the pressure to assimilate to mob mentality, mainly through his relationship with Tom, and development in his ability to think for himself by contrasting his behavior in Tom 's presence and absence along with the reasons this development occurs.
The author's purpose in A Child Called it, is to show the perspective of an abused child. The Author of this book was abused when he was a small child. The book shows that if the readers are abused, they can survive it and get out of there by reporting the authorities. Do not be scared, just tell the truth and you can be sent to a better home with better care. Dave wanted the readers to see what happens behind closed doors.
The child called “it” by Dave Pelzer. The time and place the book took place was March 5, 1973, in Daly City, California. Dave Pelzer was a boy who was abused by his own mother. He was the boy who was called “It” in his family house. His Mother would make him eat and drink things that you couldn't even imagine a mother would do. She treated her son as her slave. David wasn't allowed to shower or even wear clean clothes. His mother wouldn’t feed him until the third day. David would always go to school with bruises and scratches. His father, on the other hand, would try to do something but he failed each time he tries to convince David's mother to change her mind.
For this book report I pick the book “A Child Called “It””, from the reading list. This book caught my eye because I have always been interested in child abuse, and this book was just about that from the child’s side. This book had many sad moment throughout it, and probably helped open people’s eyes to child abuse and what it truly does to a child. The author of the book Dave Pelzer is the main character of this true story. This book started out by letting the reader know that he did eventually get out of the house where his mother was.
Thesis: The phrase of "killing a mockingbird" represents the iniquity to vitiate something good and relatively unmarred, as mockingbirds do nothing but sing beautiful songs; they are innocent and harmless. This motif can also be interpreted as a symbol of imitation, or "mocking" - the mockingbird is known for its ersatz of other birds ' songs. This mockingbird motif, the foremosttheme, is exemplified by the actions and words of three characters in "To Kill A Mockingbird" - Arthur (Boo) Radley, Tom Robinson and Jean-Louise (Scout) Finch.
(2) “Buna is a very good camp. One can hold one’s own here. The most important thing is not to be assigned to the construction Kommando.” This may not seem like much, but this affects the story a great amount. It affected Elies life, and whoever was near him a great deal. It would be different if the inmate’s hadn’t brought this up because Elie wouldn’t have known to avoid it, what if Elie thought it was a good idea to get into the construction Kommando? Then he might have not survived. It could have made a grave alter. The Inmate who had said this is a life saver. He probably wasn’t around to even find out.
In the book Diary of A Wimpy Kid: Old School, written by Jeff Kinney, Greg is dashed through a variety of things he has to do but does not want to. In this fiction book, Greg does many things like, picking up trash at a park, making a lemonade stand, and going to a creepy summer camp. But, he really does not want to do any of these things. The three topics addressed in the humorous book are the characterization, conflict, and antagonist.
William Golding wrote Lord of the Flies as a way to counteract an existing thought at the time, that those who would overcome adversity would become significantly more compassionate, peaceful, and respectful to the many surrounding them. Living in the midst of war, are a group of English schoolchildren, whose plane is shot down, landing on a deserted tropical island. Two of the school children, Ralph and Piggy, quickly come across a conch shell on the beach, realizing that it could be used to assemble the other boys. Following this gathering, the group of boys decide on having Ralph as leader and Jack to be in charge of the boys who hunt for food. Soon, a few military planes become engaged in a battle occurring far above the land which the boys are on. As the many boys continue to sleep, they fail to notice the lights and explosions in the night sky. In the midst of this battle, a parachutist drifts to land on the signal-fire mountain, however, he is dead. The twins, Sam and Eric who are placed responsible as to watch the fire throughout the night, are asleep, and are unsuccessful of seeing the parachutist. Once awake, they see the silhouette of the parachute, large, mimicking the beast of the island which they fear. Running back to the camp, they tell of their encounter with the image of the beast, and a hunting expedition is quickly organized for a search. Traveling up the mountain, they view the silhouette of the parachute as an enormous ape. Jack tells the others of what
