Civil Liberties can also be called as the restriction placed on the government. They are the things that the government cannot interfere with one's freedom. In other words, liberty and the fundamental rights of people are ensured, and the government cannot interfere with it. 1 The right to vote, freedom of speech, right to marry, right to privacy are some examples of Civil Liberty.
A Civil right, on the other hand, protect individuals from unjust treatment based on characteristics like race, gender, disability. A lot of people get discriminated every day and are not getting equal rights only because of its features. To prevent that from happening people have civil rights which allows them equal treatment irrespective of their age, gender, religion, disabilities, etc.
Both Civil Rights and Civil Liberties focus on the individuals and help them to live equally among all citizens and have an equal right to do certain things without any discrimination and inequality.
