improvement to do with my agility. I’m not aware that I change my mind easily, tensing up and resisting changes in my daily schedule seems to be neither true or false. After I have started implementing a plan, I’m unsure if I will change it. In order to be in the top quartile I will have to improve my ways of thinking. Adjusting to new people seems to be a strongpoint in my agility also.
Manager Weaknesses On the never feeling good enough I scored a total of 12 points on this questionnaire. My score is in the average quartile causing me to still need improvement. If I make a mistake or something, that feeling seems to stick with me for a while causing me not to feel good. I also have a tendency to avoid saying to others what I may be

I am not a very strong willed person and I know that I will have to improve with that. As a leader I will definitely have to improve those few skills in life.
I scored a 9 on the Being Mr. Spock questionnaire. By having a score of 9 means that I am in the top quartile. I do not wear my emotions on my sleeve. As an effective leader you will not be able to carry your emotions around other people. That may be harmful for the organization or lead to other types of issues revolving around your emotions. I do feel that people have a responsibility to do their jobs without the personal encouragement from me at times.
Furthermore, I scored a 9 on the demonstrating low self-control questionnaire. A score of 9 indicates that I’m in the top quartile percentage. I do have experienced impulsive buys and lack of planning while shopping however. A few great skills that I have are thinking through an idea before acting, I’m much better at starting things and finishing them also. I tend to be unaware of if staying on task is hard for me once I lose the interest. I know that I have to improve my area of staying on task and not losing interest if I would like to pursue and achieve any of my goals in life.
On the being overly critical scale, I scored a total of 12. The score of 12 indicates that I’m also in the top quartile. I feel that I’m too critical on people at times. Being overly critical on people may
Leadership comes with great responsibility, I personally have never experience being a leader. However, I believe that I don’t need to be a leader to be successful, instead I am always willing to work hard with other people and achieve any goal as a whole(team). Although, I consider myself as a great problem solver, and also very responsible according to the effort I put in every little thing that I do. In the past, I have helped the leaders organize and help them to achieve a goal. I gave my hundred percent in anything I do.
Throughout this course, I have learned several things about myself as a leader and about a leader in general. I feel like I now have the ability to point out many strengths and weaknesses I did not notice before. Strengths such as being able to find better ways of doing certain things, spot things that may or may not be really working, motivating team members, and working great under pressure. Some of my weaknesses include resisting change, constantly working within a group, because I always tend to feel like I'm doing either all or most of the work, and sometimes micro managing in an attempt to help/coach closely. Sometimes the micro-managing is unattended but at the same some things don't get right in time unless you keep a close eye on it.
I have many different qualities that attribute to my character. Some including, I am a naturally positive person, I am non-judgmental, and I try my best to be focused and efficient. I also like to make people laugh, but I know when to be serious. Part of being a good leader is knowing how to work as a team. Many of the activities I participate in have shown me how to do so. I believe in working as a team to come up with solutions, plans, and ideas.
I believe I have many leadership skills and experiences. I am currently the Vice President of the Red Cross Club, and the Historian of Club MED. In addition, I have volunteered to be a leader in Vacation Bible School and an assistant in Korean School. Lastly, I act as a leader also in the classrooms assisting students in subjects that I feel confidant. Being a leader allow me to learn many technical skills and improves my communication with others. It required many responsibility and patient. Yet, I suppose being a leader has made me an optimistic
It takes a lot to be a leader. It takes experience, communication, positivity, passion, and much more to be an effective leader. Communication, positivity, and passion are the three most important characteristics to me. I represent all three of these with great pride. I communicate effectively whether it be in the classroom, on
Being a leader allows you to inspire those around you it allows you to not only grow as a person, but, also allows you to grow as a mentor that can help others become better versions of themselves. An important leadership trait I possess is my emphasis on quality; I’ve never been the type of person that has
Before anyone can become a good leader, they have to be able lead themselves in whatever area they want to lead in and I feel like I am a perfect example of that. Not everything comes easy for me, so I have had to learn to have good time management, self-discipline, and perseverance. These traits have helped me in my school work, athletics and in leadership in the community.
As a leader, it's important to know yourself. In fact, I believe you can't lead if you don't have some basic knowledge of who you are as a person; like beliefs or strengths and weakness. My leadership must incorporate not only my positive attributes but must be willing to make changes with aspects of my personality that don’t work. Admittedly, I am sensitive and also passive. I tend to avoid conflict as much as I can. These characteristics might lead to issues of weakening my leadership. Being a leader to me shows having to show a strong front to most people. That doesn't mean a person should compromise who they are. I have to have a certain image when I enter a classroom. I can learn to be more assertive and have a firm voice in a classroom. I looked at the Johari Window website, to see what results I would get on their quiz.
In order for a leader to be a leader he/she must begin with the assumption that you are the one who matters most. As a leader you have to possess that level of confidence in yourself that you are capable of leading yourself “before you can lead others”. And when you develop this belief then you are better able of affirmative influence “on others”.
However, I am human so I am not perfect and lack certain traits of a good leader. For instance, I often do not use language that is easy to understand because I use many “big” words, I do not really give people second chances because I feel that one chance is all they need, and also I am not the best person to communicate. Most of the time I try not to do these things, but these bad things still happen once in a while because I am frustrated or aggravated at something. For the most part, I am a calm and reasonable person that helps people out.
Before one can lead others, they must learn to lead themselves. The first step to developing your leadership abilities is identifying your strengths and weaknesses. A few of my personal strengths are, integrity, problem solving, and vision. Some of my weaknesses are priorities, decision making, and most importantly, influence.
I am not too surprised trait was my lowest because I do not agree fully that “leaders are born, not made” (Northouse, 2015, p. 4). Yes, certain traits for a particular situation demanded are necessary, but leaders can most definitely be made, or at least the skills can be attained. I can see behavior as being one of my lower scores because there are areas in this category I can see myself improving on. Behavior is very observational, this is what followers and others look for. Behavior is broken down into two parts: task behaviors, and process behaviors. Both are required to be considered leadership. I think that I can work on helping people feel more comfortable while working together rather than ignoring the issue, which is something I look forward to improving on, and also my strength of being harmonic is something to focus on as well, since avoiding debate and conflict is something I do, but I can work on my strength more in harmonizing a situation.
Leadership skills can be learned and practiced. It is not necessary to be an outgoing or charismatic person to be a good leader. A good leader learns from the different circumstances that their life presents and uses this to enhance their leadership skills.
Confidence, communication and commitment are just three of many traits that a leader possesses. Having those traits may help you become a leader but continuous hard work and dedication makes you one. To continue to be a leader you must also be intelligent, courageous, and determined. Becoming a leader is difficult but continuing to be one is even more difficult.
I also have a hard time saying no if someone is willing to take control and lead the group. Another weakness of mine is communication. I am always very good at paying attention in class and, therefore, if I hear the teacher give requirements for a project, I just assume that everyone else is paying equal attention. I need to make a more conscience effort to make sure that everyone is communicating with one another and is aware of what needs to be accomplished. This ensures the team will be building a healthy relationship and working together. Lastly, I have to remember that everyone is different and that we all don’t approach tasks in the same way. I must use my sense of judgment to assess each person and determine what kind of work load I honestly think they will complete effectively based on their schedule. If the work is not completed when it is supposed to be done, I need to learn how to confront that person and ask them why it has not been done and make sure that they understand that this is going to put us behind. I always want people to like me and this is the main reason that I have a hard to giving constructive criticism and approaching people. These are a few areas that would be holding me back from being an effective leader.
