Uriah is a character that doesn’t have a real point during the movie, he has a small cameo in the back, during the ziplining scene but other than that he is essentially useless. In the book, Uriah appears to be one of Tris’s close friends when they meet, he is a Dauntless born initiate and he is the one that invited Tris to the ziplining with the Dauntless born instead of everyone from Capture the Flag. Another character associated change was Four, though he was a very important character he suffered through a minor change in the movie that the readers of the book would gladly point out. In the movie Divergent, Four is 24, this change was brought upon by both the producers and Theo James because they understood that it would make more sense that Four was in the Dauntless headquarters for longer than two years. In the book, Four is eighteen meaning he earned his high ranking in just two years of very hard work, something that the movie goers could not appreciate because of the age

Whenever books are adapted for film, changes inevitably have to be made. The medium of film offers several advantages and disadvantages over the book: it is not as adept at exploring the inner workings of people - it cannot explore their minds so easily; however, the added visual and audio capabilities of film open whole new areas of the imagination which, in the hands of a competent writer-director, can more than compensate.

Likewise, film has limitations that a novel doesn't. This essay explores some of the differences between To Kill a Mockingbird, the film and the novel.

Before taking this course, I always looked at films and read books just as the average person does; interesting plot and how long will it hold my interest, but this course gave me an entire different perspective when watching films and reading books. Now that I have taken this course and have watched the required films, the most important thing when watching other movies and reading books, is the meaning behind each scene and how they relate and affect our world. For this paper, I will discuss a book that I read a long time ago, which is She’s Come Undone by Wally Lamb and how this book relates to this course.
Beatrice is the independent, strong and opinionated woman traits that we, nowadays, think are important in a woman. She isn’t afraid to voice her opinions, insult Benedick or be bawdy in her humor. She relishes defying the status quo and surprising the men with her antagonistic attitude.

When things happen it is like you are in her head. This point of view is called first person. Beatrice is the main character, and the book is written from her point of view. the point of view is reflected in the text when Beatrice is thinking, because they are her thoughts, and when she says things like “I” and “Me”. This reflects her point of view because if you are in her head you are reading what she is thinking. When the book is written in first person you can see what the persons opinions are, and how they feel, and that helps the book be more in depth.
“The purpose of this paper is to write about the similarities and difference of two movies: The Choice and The Notebook. Nicholas Sparks really knows how to set a romantic/emotional, but also creates a very predictable love story plot-line. You could predict the ending before the movie started with only knowing who the movie was based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. There is always a boy who falls for a girl and has to work extremely hard to get her. Then, something happens, but in the end they are always together. The Notebook and The Choice both show how life is about choices, you have to fight for what you love, and the good guy wins; but, in The Choice the ending will leave you wanting to know more about these characters and their story and that is why The
Behind every great movie, comes a storyline that is derived from a book however, most of the books to the movies have a great number of deviations. The screenwriters and other staff members to include the director come up with these deviations to enhance the plot in the attempt to make it a more interesting film to which in turn can make a better profit. The majority of differences that is found in films main objective is to enhance the mind. For example, when a scene has the ability to get a particular feeling out of a viewer, it is imperative to be able to understand the reasons for those feelings. The dialog and the visual effects of a scene sets a tone that differs from that of the book that it was taken from. Also, screen writers and
Whether you fancy reading a book or watching a film, whether you consider yourself a bookworm or a movie enthusiast, or perhaps both or even something else entirely; there is bound to be something suitable for your tastes and preferences.
