In chapter 12 of Veronica Roth’s Divergent, precise words were used to help the reader connect with the text. In this chapter, Tris wakes up for another day of training to find a paintball gun and some ammo at the foot of her bed. Later in the day, the initiates hop on a train to the paintball arena to play some traditional games. One example of this is on page 130 when Tris is getting back from a fight where she was bruised and scratched all over her body, “I crawl across my mattress, and heave a sigh.” This helps me connect to the real world because when you have to crawl across your mattress you are in a very tired and weak state. This word is better than the words, get or lay, because it helps me connect to a certain time when I have crawled
The Hunger Games novel written by Suzanne Collins reflects significant issues in the reality world nowadays which relate to the humanity, the poverty, the violence,… It describes the issues through the characters and what happens in the story, and the most significant issue occurs throughout the novel is the gap between rich and poor people. The inequality of social classes becomes the theme of the novel because of its relation and the effects to the plots of the story. And the reason, which leads to that issue, is the policies of the dictatorship

While speaking with Four for a long-time Beatrice thinks about how she finally feels as she belongs somewhere when she said “I have associated his smell with safety, so as long as I focus on it, I feel safe now” (467). In this scene, Beatrice explains that she finally belongs a part of something and is not left out or picked.

Opinion: Of all of the characters in Divergent By: Veronica Roth the character Beatrice “Tris” Prior, is the bravest person in the book. Reason #1: Beatrice is very brave for switching factions, from Abnegation to Dauntless. Proof #1: During initiation Beatrice was bullied by some of the other initiates because she was from Abnegation.

After debating her decision Beatrice decides to be Dauntless. “A new place, a new name. I can be remade here. ‘Tris,’ I say firmly.”(Chapter 6 Page 50) In this moment, not only does Tris adopt her new name, but she adopts a new self. By rejecting her plain Abnegation name, Tris shows her desire to move on and fully immerse herself in the new world she has chosen. Tris

The narrator is unknown to the readers but describes Catherine’s, and other characters inner thoughts, that would otherwise be reserved to them. Although it is Catherine that is made the main focus, “Catherine’s feelings, as she got into the carriage, were in a very unsettled state; divided between regret for the loss of one great pleasure, and the hope of soon enjoying another”, her narrative representation is sympathetic and pleasant but the third-person structure also allows for Catherine’s nature to be presented without confusing the
