Divorce has a deep impact on women. The divorce can leave women feeling depressed, tired, not confident or assured, and sometime hopeless. Sometimes women can lose their self-esteem and instead, have a sense of insecurity and guilt. They start to blame themselves. How the community looks at divorced women is the most painful thing, because they usually put the blame on women. This may cause them to avoid people and maybe isolate themselves .However some women look at divorce in positive way .They think that divorce is the end of a miserable, unhappy and uncomfortable marriage. Divorce is not a good thing. It usually impacts our health in negative way. Yale research concluded that, “being divorced and a non smoker are only slightly less dangerous than smoking a pack a day and staying married. “After some research on cancer they discovered that married people are more likely to recover more than divorced and the emotional trauma of divorce has an impact on the physical health of the body.

All things considered, divorce should not be a word that is commonly used. A man and woman should be married for all the right reasons, until one or both passes away. Divorce does not just harm the couple, but the children are affected as well. Some children turn to depression, cheating, drugs, and stealing while others are happy with the decision made by their parents. Hopefully as the years progress, divorce rates will
Divorce is more common and much more socially accepted than it was fifty to one hundred years ago. Couples tend to divorce because it is easier than staying married and working through their problems. Most married couples thinking about divorce are so busy worrying about themselves that they fail to realize how large an impact their actions can have on their children and extended family.

Therefore they feel free to go out and do as they like. A divorce can get rid of some of the stress you may have had in the relationship which can be better for your physical and mental health.
I used myself as an example of effects on a woman of divorce. I have five children, was married three times, and divorced twice. The effects on myself were the same but I handled it better. Being divorced was scary at first because I had children to raise. I was depressed because I would find myself lonely at times and I started to question my worth. Divorce had its positive side for me also. It made me excited for the future and I was happy to get back to knowing myself. Not every divorce has the same effects that we experienced. Some people can’t find it in themselves to get over the divorce. Location can affect the divorce rate. The divorce rate is highest in the South. Overall with 10.2 and 11.1 divorces per 1,000 men and women respectively, while its 7.2 and 7.5 in the northeast. The national average rate of divorce is 9.2 and 9.7 per 1,000 for men and women, based on a 2009 US Census report.McGowan,H.(2011). The stigma associated with divorce seems to be easing somewhat in society in general and even in families where divorce is rare or unheard of , couples are more willing to terminate the marriage instead of remaining together just to escape
Divorce affects the state of mind of those involved, whether consciously or sub-consciously. A couple seems better off working out their problems rather than getting a divorce in the long run. I also believe that this becomes like an addiction or a bad habit-- the person remarries over and over again. This seems more than just ?bad luck??it is a psychological problem. It results from the way they saw their own parents in their upbringing. So, the couple that is getting divorced puts their child in the situation to learn and adopt the same ?bad habit.? It is for the children that I have the most concern, above all. The family is the strongest force behind being a successful individual. A child must learn how to treat others by watching his/her parents, and if they see their parents ?giving up,? they will give up on their own relationships more easily.
Personally, I view divorce as a hybrid between both a social problem and a solution. To elaborate, the benefits of the divorce viewed as a solution are numerous. For example, a divorce allows for unhappy individuals to break away from their current dysfunctional marriage and pursue a more ideal relationship. All to often, people located in a poor marriage feel as if they are stranded and have no way of pursuing the relationship they so desire. This state of mind can proliferate into a poor mental state and such diseases as depression can manifest. Moreover, I have observed the consequences of a poor marriage without a divorce to fall back on. My aunt was basically forced to marry a man she did not want to be with on the ground of money. My aunt and her spouse had no physical, mental, or spiritual connections what so ever. She, after 15 years of being with him, started asking for divorce advice within my
“The divorce rate in this country is approximately 50% and is seems to have become more commonplace that people are willing to get a divorce for myriad of reasons, instead of working things out.” (Martinez) Divorce causes many problems, but what the couple that is getting divorced does not know is that they are hurting people other than themselves. Many couples struggle with reasons why they should divorce and others work through issues trying to save their marriage (Martinez). Divorce impacts everyone in the family. The decision to divorce has to be made based on each family’s morals, beliefs and individual situation.
It discourages them into believing that marriage is not worth the time and effort as it would just cause pain and disappointment. This forms seeds of doubt in those that are in long-term relationships and prevents them into fully trusting the relationship. It also can cause the significance of marriage to lessen as people may assume 50% of marriages are doomed so they might as well not fight for something they believe might end. This makes divorce seem to be more acceptable for them because people have this notion that in today’s world divorce is common and frequent, which simply is not true. (pp. 3-9,

Divorce according to an article from Global Issues in Context Online Collection, is defined as an official cessation of marriage, which eliminates all conjugal responsibilities between married couple and further gives them an opportunity to marry whosoever they so choose (Gale, 2015). A divorce is the end. It’s not the end of someone’s life. Divorce is the simple term for the termination of a marriage relationship. At one point in time, getting a divorce was considered sacrilegious because the couple had made a promise to God to be together, forever in harmony. In recent years, the value of marriage has decreased. Many researchers estimate that 40%–50% of all first marriages in the United States will end in divorce. Getting a divorce or being divorced is not a good or bad thing. Sometimes a separation is needed to separate two warring people. Divorce is an event that occurs in many people's lives, but is not wanted in some cases. It is the separation of two individuals that at one point cared about each other or wanted to be together for another reason.
