Do you enjoy NFL football? Then you may or may not like this. Did you know the New England Patriots have won three Super Bowls, and have been to five? The New England Patriots formed in 1960. When they first formed they were the Boston Patriots. The team named their first head coach who was Lou Saban on February 8th, 1960. In their first game they lost 13-0 to the Denver Broncos. Their first ever win they beat the New York Titans on September 16th, 1960. The team’s stadium in the 1960’s was Fenway Park. In January 5th, 1964 they lost AFL title game to the Chargers. The AFL title game was comparable to the super bowl back then. January 30th, 1969 the Patriots designated Clive Rush vice president and head coach. …show more content…

In the playoffs they made it to the Super Bowl and defeated the Green Bay Packers. Bill Belichick was hired as head coach in 2000. In Belichick’s first season they ended 5-11. Now in 2002 they completed the season 11-5, and received a playoff berth. In the first round of the playoffs they barely won against the Oakland Raiders 16-13 in overtime. After the Raiders they took on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC championship. They dominated 13-3. Tom Brady, the patriots quarterback was injured in this game, but played in the Super Bowl. In the Super Bowl they went up against the St. Louis Rams. The Patriots were big underdogs. In the 4th quarter with 1:30 left the score was tied 17-17. The Patriots took a risk to drive down the field. They succeeded on a game winning field goal, kicked by Adam Vinatieri. Next, during 2003 they ended 14-2, and got a playoff berth. They excelled to the Super Bowl, and had to take on the Carolina Panthers. They came out on top, 32-29 on another Adam Vinatieri game winning field goal. During the season of 2004 they finished 14-2. They repeated their run to the Super Bowl for the second consecutive year. They played the Philadelphia Eagles. They succeeded 24-21, again on an Adam Vinatieri game winning field goal.
