According to Donald Clifton's StrengthsFinder survey (2006) my greatest strengths are identified as being: strategic, restorative, belief, futuristic, and responsibility. These five strengths have helped develop my career as a police officer and continue to shape my overall being. The first theme of being strategic was extremely useful during my career as a detective, utilizing patterns to assist with determining what might happen next to help solve crimes. This strength helped me to develop my career as a successful detective within the department. My whole life I have enjoyed solving problems, finding something not working and discovering a way to get it working even better than it did before. This strength has given me the ability to
In addition to my personal challenges my personal strengths interfer. A personal strength I have is talking , I love sharing my opinion. Another personal strength I have is giving good advice because I love helping people solve their problem or help make their lives easier. Lastly another personal strength I have is just listening because I am a good person to vent to because I don’t judge. Therefore I always spread positivity and lean a hand.
My second and third ranking strength were Empathy and Harmony. Out of all the strengths these are the two I feel really go hand-in-hand. “Empathy-You can see the sense of emotions of those around you. You can feel what they are feeling as though their feelings were your own. Intuitively, you are able to see the world through their eyes and share their perspective. You do not necessarily agree with each person’s perspective. You do not necessarily feel pity for each person’s predicament-this would be sympathy not empathy. You do not necessarily condone the choices each person makes, but you do understand. The instinctive ability to understand is powerful.” “Harmony-You look for areas of agreement. In your view there is little to be gained from conflict and friction, so you seek to hold them to a minimum. When you know people around you hold differing views, you try to find a common ground.” (PH.Ds, Clifton, O., Anderson, E., Schreiner, L., Pg 26) When I was still digesting my strengths out of all the top five listed these two I am most grateful for, and in my opinion will be the most useful not only in life, but also in the
My strengths are that when i want something i go and get it, instead of waiting for it to come to me, i believe i am determined, and love challenges. Surveys indicated my top three strengths would include finance, government and public administration and marketing. The main career i’m focused on is forensic science to be more precise criminal investigator. Skills that are required would be problem solving, follow orders, to learn, respect and communication skills. Most of the work is done in laboratories/ on the scene, and courtroom to testify.
Current strengths: I have developed respect for the views of others and I am able to show empathy (understanding).
Strategic is being able to create an alternative way to do things. Also, finding the best path, or way to do things.
3. See ahead of today; identify and anticipate upcoming problems or opportunities. A majority of our time is sucked into immediate priorities and demands. Strategic people lift out of the weeds (even if it's every once in awhile) and peer into the future. They think about a) what's coming down the road, b) the issues and opportunities that aren't obvious now, but may pop up later and c) short-term and long-term consequences for taking one approach versus another.
Strategy for criminal justice allows for organization of ideas to be made. As law enforcement relies on goals, values, missions, and objectives. The strategic role of a law enforcement official is important to create an environment for success. Goals are important to law enforcement to fulfill due to issues they have to solve. Values for
My strengths involve being self-motivated and being determined to get the job done. I’m also self-confident in my abilities as a NCO and I am a team player. I’ll take whatever role I need to in order to be successful whether if that involves being a follower or a
After doing a card assortment, some of my strengths include being an active listener, having verbal and nonverbal communication, being compassionate, having empathy and apathy, having conflict resolution skills, decision-making and time-management skills, being a creative and critical thinker and, analytical when needed. My strengths allow me to find well rounded solutions for any situation I may face or given to me. What makes a good cop an actual good cop is a combination of competencies and attributes, some mentioned above as well as being charismatic, social, the ability to self reflect while being able to bring change and allow others to take charge and lead the
My current strengths include; my honesty and passion towards my work. I have always been positive and confident regarding my aims and targets. Along with these, I am a good decision maker, due to which I can make right and quick decisions. Moreover, I have ability to motivate others and do team work. I am also a responsible person, when I make a target; I work day and night to achieve my goal.
Trying to decide what your personal strengths are, is hard. For myself, I have grown in my strengths, and I’ve experienced my weaknesses. My personal strengths consist of: positivity, encouragement, laughter, and love. I pick these four because I feel that I am truly strongest in these aspects of my life. Being positive is a big factor in everything I do. I always want to be happy and joyful; not only to display Christ in me, but to make others feel the way I do. I want others to appreciate life and to feel any kind of uplift in his or her spirt. Positivity plays into encouragement. I make it my goal to make others feel better about themselves. My goal coming into college was to learn and know every person(s) name that I got the chance to meet. Just taking a few minutes out of your day to truly get to know someone, is such a blessing. It not only blesses me in new friendships, but it also blesses others because they feel that someone genuinely cares about them. Laughter is another characteristic I strive to pour out onto others. I laugh at practically everything. I love to laugh, and I love to make people laugh. I’ve learned the importance of laughter, and I just want to make one person smile every day. Love is my last of the four attributes. Love is so important to me. I love creation (Trees, birds, squirrels), God, and I love people. I just want the love that God has given me, to pour out onto others. I want others to know that I love them. These are my personal strengths
The biggest strength I have is to be creative with the situation that I am given. This in not only a skill that suggest that one can synthesize material to give it a sense of authenticity, but also can adapt and accommodate in the moment. Even the best planners can have a poor classroom dynamic; the rigidity of these classes is what prevents them from engaging students in the moment. I genuinely believe in effective planning and mythology but I also believe in breaking from the script and to accommodate the needs of learners in creative ways.
I like to think I have many strengths. After review of my character/ personality test, I can see what they are. I am a task-oriented leader, which drives me to finish a project. I have a strong individual work ethic, which allows me to be responsible and not rely on others. I am good at building and leading
The Strategic theme allows you to sort through the clutter and find the best route (www.gallupstrengthscenter.com). People with the strength of Strategic look for different ways to progress and introduce a new way of thinking. I agree that I am a strategic thinker, but I disagree that strategic thinkers make quick decisions. I find it hard to make quick decisions because I tend to overthink and look at situations from multiple points of view and possible outcomes.
Strategic behavior implies the ability of logical reasoning in connection to the ability to forecast possible reactions to undertake relevant actions. The first strategy implemented by human beings was probably the conquest of antagonistic hunting territory. However, as mentioned above, strategic concepts, which include all the elements that make up a strategy according to its definition, were first developed in connection with military operations. The challenges which needed to be mastered were: the uncertainty about the ability and the intention of the enemy, irreversible commitment of limited resources, uncertainty about the control of the situation and the fundamental nature of the mutual perception between the candidates. Given such conditions, it is of course very difficult to formulate an effective strategy. This fact was already illustrated around the year 500 BC when the Chinese general, military strategist and philosopher Sun Tzu said: “Everyone can recognize the tactics
