There are black dots in almost every public place and what people don't know is that those are pieces of A.B.C.gum that people just dropped and have been baked into the concrete by the sun. This is what made it a good science project idea. The question is “ Which type of chemical can eliminate dried gum in concrete best.” According to tipnut.com it states that vinegar will get rid of gum. During the project this will be used. When most people eat vinegar with other foods or just plain it can make you feel a burning sensation ,but this might not work because it might not be strong enough, but this might help. Also according to debate.org it states that 83% of students want gum but 17% say no. others want there to be no gum because of chewing
Gum chewing has been around for at least 3,000 years, all around the world. Gum chewing was around during the ancient greeks, the mayans, and was introduced to americans in the late 1860’s. The first bubble gum was sold in 1928 and was pink because that was the only color in the factory; pink is still one of the most popular colors of chewing gum today. In this experiment, I will be finding the percentage of sugar in the Bubbilisious Strawberry gum. To find this I will need to record the data of 625 chews, recording the mass every 25 chews.
Purpose : The purpose for this project explores whether chewing gum can benefit a majority of people with focus and concentration.
Kids should be able to chew gum during school reason being is that it has been scientifically proven that chewing gum can form students to stay more focused in making them better student. On the other hand, the principal's and teachers think gum should not be allowed because they think gum is an interruption considering that the students' would most likely be blowing bubbles and making commotion with their bubble gum. However, if that did happen all the teachers would have to say is everyone needs to provoke blowing bubbles and then students should stop. When the teacher gives out, work it has been scientifically proven to help them stay more focused, so that means chewing gum could cause the students want to be less focus on their surroundings and stay more focused on getting their work done. Then, if they start getting their work done, that means that they are becoming superior students.
Everyone loves sugar filled snacks, especially children. A kid’s day can be made so much better just by handing them their favorite candy bar. This is something students looked forward to during their school day. Sadly, this was made to change. Schools started banning snacks, and drinks based on their unhealthy effect they have on individuals. According to Beverly Ballaro and Ann Griswold in "Junk Food in Schools: An Overview,” this change occurred when Michelle Obama launched her project for healthy eating in 2010. Let’s Move! Was her way to fix child obesity in America. This directed schools to feed children healthier options, and twice as many vegetables or fruit. This was not a necessity for public schools across the United States. Students should not be limited to what they eat in school. As long as they are being fed their basic lunch, it should not be important what they decide to snack on.
We tested three different brands of bubble gum. The three brands are Bubble Yum, Bazooka, and Bubblicious. There were 3 people that blew bubbles for our experiment. My Mom, Dad, and myself were the three bubble blowers. We each read a couple of articles on the best way to blow big bubbles. We then chewed each piece of gum for three minutes before blowing the bubble. We used a ruler to measure the diameter of the bubble in centimeters. Through my research, I believe that the bubble gum with the highest sugar content will blow the biggest bubble.
You either love or hate the idea of chewing gum at school but have you thought of all of the evidence supporting it? Many different studies show the effects of gum on students, but each show a different result, leaving people’s opinions diverse. Some studies show that chewing gum helps test scores increase while teachers and students say it can be distracting and messy. Some students stick their gum under their tables or desks instead of taking the chance of getting caught while throwing it away. Personally I think that gum should be allowed during testing and other concentration based work.

As Extra Gum discovered, memories can be a powerful tool. In 2013, extra gum put out a commercial that had fathers and daughters tearing up across the country. The commercial portrayed a father/ daughter relationship that reminded me of my own relationship with my dad. It goes through moments of their life: sitting on a train, playing in snow, at a baseball game, at the beach. In each scene the father pulls out a stick of gum for the both of them and turns the wrapper into a paper crane.
Let me ask you a question. If students chew gum in school, then they obviously like it. Then why do schools ban chewing gum? Gum is banned in most schools in the world. There are some teachers that allow the chewing of gum only if it doesn't disturb the class and if it doesn't end up under tables.

Nicotine use is a leading preventable cause of death in the world, directly and indirectly responsible for 440,000 deaths per year. The health problems that result in tobacco use tally an annual of $75 billion in direct medical costs (Slovic 36). That money spent on medical problems for smokers should be used to pay for more important things in our society such as schools, libraries, childcare, etc.
