I went to Dry Tortugas National Park this summer. It's the farthest Florida Key and is at least a 70-mile boat or plane trip. This year is the park's 100th anniversary and I was so excited, and scared, to go. It was established because once Ponce de León caught around 160 turtles there. Also, what makes this park unique is that 99% of it is under water and since the water is so shallow there are many shipwrecks. I love fish and all but seaweed, on the other hand, is one of my biggest fears.

The next day, I woke up and went to the place that the ferry would pick me up at. The park provided the ferry ride. The ferry was named the Yankee Freedom III. I could see Fort Jefferson, the moat around it, the islands, and how shallow the water actually was. Around 2 minutes later we finally landed. The first thing I did was grab my bags and went into Fort Jefferson. On my way there I passed the boat docks. Inside of Fort Jefferson, there were lots of trees, signs, benches, people, and a lot of things and I had no idea what they were.

After that, I went to the area that I could set up my tent in. I ended up next to Chole. I decided that since it was still slightly early, it would be a good idea to go snorkeling. I asked Chloe if she wanted to go with me because it was shallow water, which meant the seaweed was close to me. We threw on our swimsuits in our tents, walked to the water and dove in it.

We snorkeled around the island and saw some Amberjack, Grouper, Blackfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Dolphins (Mahi-Mahi), Cobia, Kingfish, Mutton Snappers, Permits, Red Snappers, Sailfish, Wahoo, and Swordfish. After about an hour or two, it started to
