There have been many assignments that I have completed in this class that have been helpful. The top two assignments are “The Missouri Connection” and Emotional Intelligence Inventory chose these two because they both helped me learn something about myself that I did not know before. Missouri Connection help me find the perfect career path I want to follow. Before doing this assignment, I had an idea of what I wanted to pursue but this helped show me that it’s the right career path for me. It gave me reassurance that I am going down the right path that follow my interests. Also it helped me to get a different opinion from someone I did not know. Emotion Intelligence helped me identify my emotions easier and at an appropriate time. I have always
Taking a Psychology class has taught me a lot about others and myself. I have learned a lot in this class and the information I retained will stick with me for the rest of my life. The knowledge I have gained will help me in the future by allowing me to be a better actress, CEO, and mother. The most important topics I will need are Lifespan Development and Psychological Disorders. These subjects can be unknowingly important when crossing paths with other people.
Being in this class gave me insight on the way that I learn. I’ve had my share of jobs along with schooling and various other learning experiences. Some good, some bad but I can honestly say that I never noticed the pattern on how I learn. Now I know I learn more by being more of a hands on person. Also utilizing my thinking and problem solving skills has helped with my growth. I also found it important to use my reflective observation too. Mostly combining different learning styles have helped me in life to understand the way I learn and the benefits that could come if I use my strengths to further my ambitions.
The assignment that I found most interesting was the cruise ship assignment. It was such a unique assignment. I have never done something like that before. It was interesting that we were given little pieces of information over each person. The more information we got about the the more it made a difference in order. It just shows that we cannot judge people by what little we know about them. It is better to get to know someone before placing a label or judgement on them. It is easy to label someone and sometimes I do it unknowingly. This exercise taught me a lot and I enjoyed it very much.
Some were first-year students like myself and others were halfway through the program. It was interesting to get to know them, their professions and experiences with distance education. Finally, this assignment required me to summarize data from excel spreadsheet, synthesize information (5.6) and effectively communicate in a variety of forms (5.7). This was not easy as all the data had to be explained in writing and typed clearly for the reader to make sense of it. Overall, this assignment taught me the skills of analyzing quantitative data, and despite the struggles with formulas, it was an excellent opportunity to practice and answer the questions and get them right some after a few attempts if not on the first
Road accidents happen anywhere in the country. At times, it is not only the vehicle that is tremendously mishap but it also curtails the lives of the driver, the passengers and the innocent by-standers. This is either because of gross negligence of the driver or caused by the opposite motorists along the road or highways. To ensure that this incident may be prevented to happen again and again, it is very important that those who drive and those learning how to drive their vehicle of whatever kind would be able to attend the DUI Class.
I honestly was expecting to get an A on this class as it seemed an easy one. I have been able to keep a perfect score since I started school a couple of years ago but unfortunately my life got complicated when I accepted the job I have, which recently demanded a lot more traveling, not to mention that I am in the process of start a new business after purchasing a retail store a couple of months ago.
One assignment that I feel as though I put my all into would be the Definition essay, in my opinion is my best. I took my time and tried to focus on what the instructor was
The story of the assignment that impacted me the most begins in a class I initially despised. There was a collective grump and groan when the networking and cyber security majors were informed that we must all take an introductory business course. We all simply could not understand how any business concepts could aid in our ability to program an effective network with corresponding security. With a rather narrow mind, I entered the class that I was told by others was the my boring and dull experience of their academic life. Still, I read the chapters and regurgitated basic concepts into short essay answers as requested by my instructor. However, after a short time came an assignment about learning to plan a business process and improve it.
The course has had the largest impact on me outside of the classroom with the intentional
Before taking this course I was really excited about what I am going to learn. And I was right! This course is not only interesting but it is also helpful. I have learned that the grade I am having right now is the reflection of my try throughout the entire semester.
Over the course of this class I have pieced together many things about my own life that before went unnoticed. I am now able to see things in a bit of a different light. Now that I have been introduced to the realm of psychology I understand some of the reasons for behavior around me. I have learned that there is a reason for most everything and a lot of our behaviors and mental processes can be explained through psychology. Studies have been conducted for many years to try and pinpoint the source of our behavior and it is not something that most people think about every day. Having a better understanding of why we operate the way we do will help me to better understand myself and the others around me.
Within this course, there were issues or information from the course that most surprised, intrigued, or elicited emotion (positive or negative) in me. There were many topics that I already knew about but needed to refresh my memory and many that were new information to me.
The class has helped to enhance my research and communication skills. For example, one of the assignments in the class was to do an interdisciplinary humanities critical analysis essay after reading the article “An Interpretation of Michelangelo’s Creation of Adam Based on Neuroanatomy” by Dr. Frank Meshberger. The article is a combination of three different disciplines; art when the Michelangelo’s masterpiece is analyzed, religious studies when talking about God and Adam, and anatomy when addressing the background shapes painted behind the form of God, giving the impression of an image of the human brain. Some individuals might get a little nervous at the beginning of the class, because not many people know what to expect from Interdisciplinary Inquiry. I am glad I took this class, because it gave me the tools to be a better Liberal Arts student and continue to progress towards my
This course has affected my development as a student in many ways. It has taught me the importance of being stress free. I have learned that using the time and stress management tools and strategies has helped me get closer to my goals. Achieving my goals depends mainly on me and being less stressful. Time and stress management go hand to hand and one doesn’t work without the other. I learned to become better at time management. This has allowed me to get more important task done and put off the not so important ones. This course has prepared me very well for my academic success. It has taught me about my learning styles and what works best for me. Although I’m a visual/ auditory learner, I sometimes find myself wanting to take things hands on. These are some of the things that has affected me in my development as a student.
I have learned so much in this class to prepare me for a successful college experience. There were some topics that caught my attention more than others. Such as, time and stress management, University resources, and critical thinking.
