Introduction: The novel Ender's game has lots of different topics the author is trying to address. I have chosen three different topics that the author has addressed in the book. My first topic i have chosen is people dislike people who excel. My second topic is the enemy is the only real teacher. My third and final topic is Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. I think those topics are a very important part of this novel Paragraph 1 Topic people dislike people who excel:
The first point is peter is jealous of ender because peter wanted to go to battle school because peter is into violence and killing and he would like it in battle school. “Peter was the best we'd seen in a long time. We asked your parents to choose a daughter next

Ender is a hero because he defeated the buggers in the invasion/war.'You beat them, and it's all over.' All over. Beat them. Ender didn't understand... 'Ender, you never played me... This was the Third Invasion... the battles were real and the only enemies you fought were the buggers.'" Card pg 296. This quote helps support my topic because it shows you don't have to be a certain age or a certain size to be a hero ender was a hero at age nine. This is a message from the author saying how you can be anything you want to be and the author shows that by making a 9 year old boy a war/invasion …show more content…
Ender's game had lots of different messages the author displayed in the book. The first message I spoke about was Peter being jealous of ender for making it into battle school. Peter was called too violent for that's the reason peter was declined from joining battle school. The second message I spoke about was Stilson fighting Ender The third and final message i spoke about was that Ender was a war/invasion hero ender at the young age of 9 enders led his team to victory by defeating the buggers.I think young kids would benefit by reading this book because it has so many messages like how young ender is and ender is leading people to war that are older than him and how people could become jealous of your
He made the choice to go to the Battle School for some years. He will not be able to see his family for a long time. That would be a very hard decision to make. That’s because Ender is only six and he made the decision to go. For that I think Ender is brave and has confidence.
When given a dynamic setting and plot, change is inevitable. In the novel, Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, the author tells the story of a dystopian society which focuses on the task of defending itself from extraterrestrial creatures. Through the course of the book, the protagonist, Ender Wiggin, faces challenges that influence his actions and attitude. Although there are many characters who undergo change in the novel, Ender’s dynamic personality traits are more evident, being that he has a larger impact on readers. Due to being manipulated, Ender Wiggin changes from an ambitious young boy, to a subdued and wary character.
The novel Ender’s Game is written by Orson Schott Card. It is about a young boy who is sent to battle school. He meets friends and makes adversaries. In battle school, out in space, Ender, the young boy is a genius and is taught many tactics to destroy their prime enemy the buggers. He excels in school and battles his way into command school before the required age. There he is told he is battling buggers in simulations or is he? Throughout the novel, Ender is manipulated, bullied, and isolated, which creates many themes and messages. In this novel Ender’s Game the main theme is life is a game. Three characters that best prove this are Ender, Peter, and Bonzo.
2 major and reoccurring themes throughout Ender’s Game is manipulation and deception. Much of this novel is about how adults manipulate Ender into fulfilling their needs. They trick him, lie to him, and tell him just enough so that he can defeat the buggers. Ender pretty much sums this up when he says, “I've spent my life as someone's pawn" (Pg. 97). On one hand, it seems wrong to lie to and cheat a kid. On the other hand, the adults manipulate him to ensure the survival of the human race. Besides the manipulative relationship between the adults and Ender, there are a number of other relationships full of manipulation: Peter manipulates Valentine, Peter and Valentine manipulate the world, and
‘I am just like Peter,’” (Card 8). Ender´s realization “I am just like Peter” creates a sense of danger because Ender had attempted to dissociate himself from his brother in order to not turn into an aggressive person, for all of his life. Ender realizes that once they “Take [his] monitor away, and [He is] just like Peter”(Card 8). The readers are forced to feel the same sense of unknowingness that Ender feels with his newfound recognition. This creates a sense of danger because the reader likely desires to know what will happen now that Ender finally realizes he is just like his brother and is unsure of how to cope with that.
Ender’s game by Orson Scott Card is a science fiction novel that takes place in the future and involves a kid named Ender, the protagonist of the story. He is sent to battle school to defeat the buggers (the enemies) with many other kids who are put through lots of challenges. The government has picked Ender who is 6 years old and is a third child, his older siblings were not selected by the government because his sister, Valentine, is too kind and compassionate while his older brother,Peter, is ruthless and hot-tempered. Ender is both a monster and a hero because he’s half Peter and half Valentine.
Ender's Game is author Orson Scott Card's best-known work. The novel has sold over one million copies and is published worldwide (Whyte). The novel won the Hugo and Nebula award in 1986; science fiction’s most prestigious writing awards (University of Utah). In summary, the plot of the novel is a story about a young child, Ender Wiggin, taken away from his family by the International Fleet (a world order devoted to protecting the planet from space invaders) in order to train him to be a military genius to defend the human race from an alien species (Buggers) that has already attacked Earth twice. At the end of the novel Ender kills the entire bugger race but does not know it until after the
In the story Ender’s Game there is a boy named Ender Wiggin, he is a very smart child who is accepted into battle school. Where Ender is from they are not allowed to have more than two kids. Ender’s parents signed a contract saying they can have a third child, so Ender basically belongs to the government. Then Ender has to go to battle to fight the buggers. Once he defeated all the buggers he was know as a hero. In the book, Ender’s Game, there are many similarities and differences.
Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card is about a boy named Ender Wiggin. When he is 6 years old he is taken from his home to go train in a place called Battle School to fight aliens, or “buggers”. He learns to command an army and plays games to train for the battle against the buggers. When the game is over, Ender learns it isn’t a game at all and they have won the war against the buggers. Two themes in this books are “Life isn’t always going to be fair”, and “Make the best of what you have.” These two themes are in the book because Ender has to deal with having a horrible army to train and the teachers aren’t fair to Ender at all.
What could be better than a six year old boy killing two people, going to battle school, becoming a commander and killing an entire species? And he did all that by the time he was 13 years old. There’s a little bit of a difference between the book Enders game and the movie Ender Game. In the book Ender Wiggins was 6 years old and by the end he was 13 but in the movie he stayed 16 the whole time.
A huge part of the theme of Ender's Game is saying that life is just a game. This is proved by the concept that Ender has to succeed through different 'levels' of life in order to achieve what the battle school has set out for him-killing the buggers. This is proved by the quote,”-Because most boys in this school think the game is important for itself, but it isn't. Its only important, because it helps them find kids who might grow up to be real commanders.” This is the real point of the book in which Ender fully realizes that The Battle School is really just a game. The symbols of this main idea is the armies, friends, enemies, and leaders that Ender comes in contact with in the Battle School. All of the friends, enemies, armies, and leaders that Ender meet are all part of Ender
Ender did not have a good childhood. At the age of six he was changed from a little boy into a soldier in a six year old’s body. He was worked to the breaking point and even had a mental breakdown. Ender was take by th I.F. so that he could be trained to save the world, but he didn’t know that this involved, blocking all forms of contact with his family and being pushed to be perfect at everything until he had a mental break down. Somehow he managed to win the war, but as a result he became a young man with no friends and no life. Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, demonstrates the effects of taking away children's rights by working them too hard, forcing them to solve every problem themselves, and are forced into armed combat against each other.
As evidence, “Ender, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I know how it feels, I’m sorry, I’m your brother, I love you” (15). Peter’s attitude towards Ender was usually violent as Peter liked to beat up Ender and threaten him along with Valentine. Peter had also just beat up Ender after he had gotten his monitor out however, Peter was apologizing to Ender for the things that he’s done. Peter seems to regret his past decisions as an older brother and wants to change for the better. There isn’t enough of plot to conclude that Peter has truly changed his attitude towards Ender as he seemed to still threaten Valentine and is still sadistic. It could be that Peter was just saying that to mess with Ender or Peter truly had a struggle for identity and he truly regretted his
Ender Wiggin was a timid boy who wanted to have his brother and parents to love him. Prior to joining the Battle School, Ender did not have the belligerence that he would soon possess. He did not want to be like Peter, so
In the book Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card, it starts with ender in school and being made fun of. After he beats up a bully, he goes home to deal with his brother Peter who also bullies him because Ender is a better specimen than Peter was. But what no one expected was that a representative from the military came to invite Ender to Battle School up in space. Ender accepted and went to live up in Battle School for years to come. At first, Ender was hated for being such a talented student at the age of six but was soon respected after he was able to beat all the other armies with just a bunch of little kids. Ender became the best soldier at Battle School and was moved up to Command School where he would learn to command
