What made English 099 easy for me? English 099 was the most stressful class that I took this semester. Being able to write a good essay, to have a good grammar on the essay was very difficult for me. Although English 099 was difficult and stressful, I learned so many new things in class that it became my favorite class. Every day we were learning something new that .There are three papers that professor Hogan gave us that helped me understand English 099, and they are the pink folder, the reading portfolio, and most important the conjunction paper.
In the Summer of 1964, the Mississippi Summer Project, also known as Freedom Summer, was organized by several Civil Rights organizations such as the Student Nonviolent Coordination Committee and the Congress on Racial Equality. The event that caused the start of Freedom Summer were that many African-Americans were not registered to vote, this was because the southern states had implemented literacy tests that were unfair and could be interpreted differently, and Poll Taxes which were ridiculous amounts to pay ("Freedom Summer"). Other causes include the case of Plessy Vs. Ferguson, which stated the “Separate but Equal” clause, and also Racial segregation. Freedom Summer Volunteers included White Northerners, and the organization was made to focus on the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party, Voter Registration, Freedom Schools, and Community Centers (“Timeline: Freedom Summer”). There was a need for the Freedom Summer because Many African-American People in the south were being oppressed by Literacy Tests and Poll Taxes.
Freedom Summer was a nonviolent effort by civil rights activists to integrate Mississippi's segregated political system during 1964. It raised the consciousness of millions of people to the troubles of African-Americans and the need for change. Americans all around the country were shocked by the killing of civil rights workers and the brutality they witnessed on their televisions. For nearly a century, segregation had prevented most African-Americans in Mississippi from voting or holding public office. Segregated housing, schools, workplaces, and public accommodations denied black Mississippians access to political or economic power.

Freedom Summer has most of black Mississippians and over one-thousand out of state white volunteers face abuse and harassment from Mississippi's white population. The Ku Klux Klan police did a series of violent attacks towards them. About a hundred white college students had help cofo register voters on November 1963, and several hundred students more had been invited to expand the voters project in the Freedom Summer.
English 102 is a college level of reading and writing course based on the theme monster. When I started the class, I thought monsters as scary creature in the books and movies. As I progressed in English 102, I found out monsters is more than what I though t is. Monsters can represent the fear of people and society, a problem in a society, something that is keep coming back and coming back(Such as financial crisis), natural hazard and danger. It also can serve as a warning; so, people avoid the same mistakes.
The National English Honor Society would let me interact with a diverse group of students. Joining the Society would give me a chance to take trips to colleges and other places to learn new things. If accepted to the Society I would dedicate my time to it and not be distracted by anything that will take away from my education. Writing has always inspired me which is a big part of English it is a good way to express yourself it is the way I express myself. Joining the English Honor Society would all around help me stay in track with my education.
Coming into junior year and taking an AP English class, I am extremely nervous. Outside of English, I am taking two other AP classes, so I am worried about the work load that I will be responsible for throughout the year. I have heard from my older sister that AP English is a fun, great class. Throughout my eleven years of school, I have always been one to challenge myself and I fell that by taking AP English I will be challenging myself once again. I am looking forward to a good year this year.
Upon entering English 111 on-line class, I had not taken an English class on-line before. In the past I have taken several other basic classes. English has always been a struggle for me, mainly writing and grammar. Neither, writing or grammar has come natural to me. The biggest challenge for me is putting my thoughts into words.
When I was in the 9th grade, I had a huge unit test in Science and I wanted to do really well on it. This test would decide our grade going into summatives and final examinations. Therefore, I put the necessary effort and studied well to be able to score significantly high on the test. The day arrived where I found out what I made on the test. To my shocking surprise, I only made a 70!
English 101 might seem like an easy course to take for some students. For other students such as myself, English 101 was one of the classes I feared and procrastinated on taking. Coming from an ESL background, English was the class I have always struggled with the most. I’ve always excelled in science/ mathematics courses. I prefer the correct answers to be facts and universal. Creativity is not my forte. The process of putting my thoughts down on paper in an organized manner, with correct punctuation, and citing works used, seemed like a complicated, tedious task before taking English 101 this summer.

Also you may use scholarly books and not just journal articles. You should avoid using generic websites that do not appear scholarly in nature. A good rule of thumb is that if a website does not have an author, it is not a good source. Good online material has also usually been published in print at some point. Teachers handed out a rubric at the beginning of each assignment, which detail every single thing that needed to be included in your paper.
