Coal is retrieved from underground and taken to factories to be burnt to create electricity or to fuel the steel mills.

Mining is one of Canada’s primary industries and involves the extraction, refining, and/or processing of economically valuable rocks and minerals. Mineral products – including gold, silver, iron, copper, zinc, nickel – are critical to modern industrial society. Mining had been practicied for centuries already and has helped humans develop through civilizations and years of innovation. Even though we have been the benficiaries of mining, there has been a catch to all of this. Mining isnt beneficial because of companies treating miners really bad and because of its harm to the environment, therefore creating more of a danger to us. Even if the mining industry seems to never have an end to it, it can surpressed, in order to ensure a better environment for future generations to come.
Everything that happens through what we do and still doing creates a chain reaction of the ecosystems and because of this, it makes a huge affect on the earth we live in. Mining is an industry that is becoming bigger and bigger, day-by-day and it has that large effect on the earth, but the downside to this is that there is a demand for different rocks that’s also becoming larger and larger, thus causing the need for larger mines and equipment. Another problem that could come with mining would be process control. This can all cause more waste and changes to our ecosystem but it is all under control, seeing as how more and more laws are being placed on this kind of things. Elements and rocks can’t be “grown” like plants can. Sustainable Mining
