The United States economy is starting to recover from the recent recession with a drop in the unemployment rate from 7.7% in 02/2013 to 6.7% in 02/2014 (Bureau of Labor Statistics). The American people are starting to have the additional .3% increase in disposable income. This additional income allows for people to enjoy the luxury of social outings, meals, entertainment, and larger purchases. Interest rates are still at an all-time low which allows for individuals that might not be previously in the position to make a large invest in buying a home, starting a business, or finance a long term goal the opportunity. It is important that the corporation stay informed on the changes to import and export laws in these countries. Just recently has there been a change that some countries have lifted the tariffs on green coffee beans in order to help stimulate the economy of these countries that weight heavily on foreign trade as part of the World Trade agreement.
Companies that operate in the United States but have dealings with other divisions or departments that also operate globally must be aware of the labor laws in that country. Conduction child labor or having unfit working conditions for employees may not be directly regulated by the Equal Employment Act of the United State but when conducting business globally these condition will cause an indirect impact if it is brought to the attention of the American consumer.

The constant technology environmental changes have changed the way companies operate and consumers purchase products. Companies must stay abreast of new ways to advertise their products and make service fast, efficient, and reliable. People in North American countries are privileged enough to be able to express their religions in public places such as a coffee shop. Some of them are ignorant enough to think that a coffee shop not putting Christmas decorations on a cup is war on Christianity.
As mentioned earlier, our research method of choice is naturalistic observations. Each group member will be going to different Starbucks locations in the lower mainland. By going to different locations, we are expecting to prevent all of us from getting the same results from the same repeat customers if there does end up being any. This may also show us if there are different patterns in different Starbucks locations.
Like many markets, consumer demands are high, in particular around technology. Technology sees more information available and enhanced options in mobile services. As consumers we understand more and expect more.

Imaging if there was no more coffee in this world, how would you feel? Nowadays, coffee becomes an important part of people’s life. People who often work overtime, they drink coffee because caffeine can make you awake; people who have to wake up early in the morning, they drink coffee because instead of making breakfast, coffee is more convenient; people drink coffee during the free time, because it also tastes good.
According to Harvard’s School of Public Health, 54 percent of Americans over the age of eighteen drink coffee every day. The daily consumption of coffee for Americans is an average of 3.1 (9-ounce) cups. The popular demand for coffee is because caffeine is the key ingredient. Caffeine is used as a kick-start for most people in the morning for an extra energy boost. However, once that feeling of extra energy subsides the human body begins to feel exhausted. A new product that we wish to add to the menu will be an invigorating lemonade. This new product will only be offered during the summer months of June, July, and August. Depending on how well our clients respond to our new drink, we will eventually add to the flavors of lemonade available.
Today, first world countries have strong laws that prohibit child labor, and are well enforced. Although it is not 100 percent solved, first world countries have a grip on child labor. On the other hand, 2nd and 3rd world countries lack enforcement. Laws are made, but enforcement is not there to regulate.
